  1. I own an audio shop in Oregon and we have done a couple iPad installs. We actually just sold our demo car that had one built into the dash. Nobody on the market makes a "kit" to do this. Be aware if you are going to do this, make sure the iPad has proper ventilation or the iPad will overheat. In all out reality the pad isn't really car friendly. If you are going to use the pad as the main and only source unit then you will need to use a line driver or some sort of processorhe best thing to do is patch the pad into the aux input of a deck. The you will use the higher voltage preamp of the deck. You can see our install on our web site in the install gallery at www.soundsfast.net. Our demo car is the smart car you will find in there. If you have any audio questions feel free to email me at [[email protected]
  2. The dealer said they lubed it last time it was in there when I first complained about it. I will ask my guy that has done all the work on it but he is pretty thourough especially right now as he is frustrated why he can't find this noise
  3. I need some help with a problem I am having. I have an 05 SS all wheel drive with 56,000 miles on it. The truck makes a clunk noise when coming to a stop and also does it at times when going from park to drive. When coming to a stop the truck feels as if there is slop somewhere in the drive train. I have a very honest a reputable transmission guy working with me on this and I trust his work and he is at a loss with this. We originally thought it was coming from the transfer case so he cracked it open. The transfer case was in really bad shape. He rebuilt it and we thought that would take care of it. He also installed a TransGo shift kit as the previous owner had done some home made shift kit. After both of these done the clunk was still there. During all this I had noticed that the front end was making a little noise when turning. I had read on here that it is pretty common for the front end bearings to go bad so that was the next thing to be serviced. He just got done doing the entire front end minus the actual gears and axles as they all looked good. Everything else in the front end was pretty bad. He found a couple of things he thought might be the cause of the clunk but once he got it all back together and drove it the noise was still there. At this point we don't know what else it could be. I'm hoping somebody on here has had the same problem and can guide me in the right direction. By the way the dealer told me this clunk was normal. I don't think it is as this clunk is pretty loud. Plus I have owned a Denali and Escalade that are similar drive train platforms and never had this kind of problem. Any advice would be great. Thanks
  4. that's the thing about the silver state classic. Modifications aren't always going to help you. The race is about trying to average as close to your classes speed as possible through the course. Most of the course is long open straights with one corner section called the narrows. The max speed I can go is 124. So the goal is to come into the narrows with time to spare as you will ose time going through the narrows. If you cross the finish line to fast you are DQ'd and if you finish way to slow, you are DQ'd. It's all about speed and time management. Most vehicles in the 95mph class are stock. Mine has some mods but for the most part the truck will be kept stock. I plan on lowering the truck more, upgrade the brakes, bigger sway bars and that will be it(except for better tires of course). The truck is equipped with CAI, headers, exhaust and a custom tune. The only other motor mod will probably be bigger injectors as the factory ones are maxed out with the tune we did.
  5. I wouldn't be competing against the cars you find on he internet. I will be competing in the 95 mph class. There are plenty of trucks that enter the race.
  6. I am thinking about entering the Silver State Classic with my 05 SS and I was wondering if anybody on here has ever done it with their SS or any other kind of vehicle for the matter. If you have do you have any advice for a new entry?
  7. These wheels are in awesome shape. There is not a single curb mark in any of the wheels. The center caps are perfect. The wheels are still mounted on the truck and will be until I have a buyer. Once I have a buyer lined up I will order the replacements which will take about three days to get here. The tires in the pics are not included. Feel free to email me at [email protected] or call me at 541-390-0353. I am located in bend, Or. $1250.00 plus shipping. http://bend.craigsli...664366359.html You can see the pics at my craigslist posting(since I can't get pics to load on the web site)
