  1. 03' SS has 1" or 2" drop shackles in the rear, was that way when I bought it, I think I want to go back with stock ones, I tow with my truck quite a bit,the stance looks great but squats a little too much when the trailers on, was wondering if anyone had a set of stockers they might turn loose of? How much? Thank You
  2. Do you have a PN for the chin spoiler, is it for a regular 2003 silverado? Looks Good..
  3. On my 03, I had to remove the plastic housing around the under hood fuse box, there is 2 posts under there ( top left corner), BATT+ is on one post and some other wires on the other post. I had to peel back the loom a little bit and there was a factory wire and end that was taped back, pull that out, remove the nut on the post and connect that wire, run the nut back down and put er back together, now I have 12v at the trailer plug. It actually took forever trying to find out why I had no 12v back there, but that's what it was, hope this helps..
  4. Yep, I do the same thing, let us know if you getr' licked!
  5. I am having the same problem with my 03, I have the K&N CAI. The light comes on every now and then during normal driving but comes on EVERY time I tow our enclosed trailer, usually within the first 10 miles or so. I have cleaned and checked and rechecked every thing, and have decided to go ahead and put my original back on as soon as I get a chance.I would sure like to leave the K&N on there but it just gets annoying, especially when we're towing out of town and the light comes on 10 minutes into the trip. So if anyone knows the fix, I'd be glad to hear it, thanks..
  6. Anyone remember an OLD post about not being able to run synthetic in the front diff on "some" models? I have a pinion seal leaking after rebuilding the front diff and I used synthetic even though it calls for 80-90, I can't remember exactly what the post was but it was something about the earlier models, something about which color vent you have, (mine is an 03) that would either blow out of the vent OR it can't vent synthetic, thus blowing out of the seals?? I have looked all through here and can't seem to find it. Just trying to see if I need to go back with regular oil OR change the seal again...Thanks
  7. I recently rebuilt the front diff. and now it is leaking at the pinion seal. I used synthetic even though it calls for 80-90 ( 2003), I remember reading on here ( about a year ago) "something" about not running synthetic in some models! It's possible that I nipped the seal but I just wanted to see if any of you remembered anything about the post I mentioned.. Thanks in advance..
  8. I did not want to Jack the 2 or 4WD thread so I will ask it here, among the posts one of the members posted that his front halfshafts were out of the truck. My question is , I know we can't drive around with our front drive shaft out due to the TC viscus issue, but can we get away with it by leaving the drive shaft in and removing the front shafts? 6.LO, any trouble?
  9. Stock 2003----runs 210 all the time
  10. WD40 and fingernail, sounds crazy but it works, WD releases the glue and it won't hurt just about any surface you put it on......
  11. Let us know when you find the fix...
  12. I know we are probably the last ones on here to do this but finally found some time to get it done, I think it really adds some 'POP' to our trucks
  13. Have you found that tape measure yet-LOL.. Ya I know, I did some more reading today and it seems alot of guys complain about the EBC's creating so much dust. Actually, I got the front and rears apart tonight and the pads and rotors look fine, plenty of pad left. The reason I assumed I needed fronts is the ol' SS doesn't stop worth a flip, so I went to the rears and look fine too. I am getting the impression that this is a pretty common complaint. You say you are upgrading to the 06 set up, does it have to be from an SS or just a 1500?
  14. I am doing the front brakes on my 03, what pads should I get? I read around on here and it seems that most like HAWK, what do you reccomend? Brand, part # if ya'll have em'... Thanks in advance
  15. See post #7, there is a bracket under there where it goes, I'll try and get a pic tomorrow...
  16. ]I had been looking for some kind of Carbon Fiber BowTie with no luck so I tried some of that 3D Vinyl Wrap off of E-Bay and then topped it off with an SS decal. I think it turned out pretty good!
  17. I actually just found the same thing on mine this past weekend, on the passenger side, just to the right of the frame horn, you will see a metal tab hanging down- it snaps in from the front side( locking tabs to the rear) I have no idea what it is, I figured maybe AirBag sensor...
  18. K. I was just curious about the gaskets, someone had mentioned to me something about OEMs being plastic and prone to cracking/leaking...
  19. Well, after seeing Krambo's pics he put up in the other post I noticed the Weather-Pac connector for the KSs. So, I went out and found mine up on the intake there and when I unplugged it, it was FULL of water so I dried it all out, I just knew that had to be the problem. Light was still on so I went and had it cleared and drove around, all was well- thought problem was solved. Drove it to work today and it came back on, I am gonna try to sneak in some time this weekend to change them. Should I get OEM gaskets or after markets? Delco sensors as well?
