  1. Update: Well there for awhile I was just manually turning off my aftermarket radio to see if it was just the wiring that was causing my problem, so I put my stock radio back in to see if it was the wiring and the trucked ended up being dead in the morning when I came out to it, may it actually be the door actuator? Or do I need to start looking at other wiring? Also, I have some under dash lights that I wired into the driver side a-pillar so they come on with all the other lights in the interior and with the dome light switch, could I be drawing power from there maybe?

  2. Got the new module put in so we will see how it works and if I have any problems in the next few days. Maybe this one is just different than my old one but now when I put the key in the ignition and don't do anything, don't even turn it to the on position the radio will come on? Anyone know if that's normal or not?

  3. Well after some help, I ordered a new aftermarket radio module for my radio, didn't even think about it and it being a cheap one I could see it being the the problem. So I will cheap you all informed and see how it works out, but after I got to thinking I remember on my old truck I had the same one and my radio wasn't shutting off. So we'll see how it goes.

  4. Had the battery tested and everything. Checked out with it, but the truck left me stranded again today. Not sure where to go from here. Bad thing is if I try something out I won't know if it solved the problem because it only happens every once in awhile. About to start ripping out all aftermarket parts and see what that does. Subs, LED interiors lights and go from there. Truck also seems like it wants to die at idle now after I junp it and get it going. Any help would be greatly appreciated

  5. Well I've decided to go a different route with the truck and that includes getting a new/different cam.

Cam: This is BRAND NEW, never been in he truck or even out of the box. Bought it a few months back and was waiting to accumulate all my part and go at it all at once but I'm changing things up.

    Cam Specs: 221/221 .575/.575 with 108 lsa

    Price- $385 shipped.

  6. Take it in and have a load test done. I've had terrible luck with walmart batteries in my RV and boat in the past. Replace them every year. My SS battery was doing similar things to what yours is doing now. It was a good AC Delco battery, but 6 years old. Load tested = bad cell. Replaced it with a new GM quality battery. Problem solved. May fix your issue, may not, but load testing shouldn't cost you a dime.

Ok, well I'll take it in and have it done and then I'll see what they say, if it's a bad cell I'm probably just going to go with a yellow top or something along those lines.
  7. Have you gone in somewhere reputable to have the battery load tested ?

never had it load tested but did replace the battery about a year ago. Only problem is it doesn't drain everytime. It's done it maybe 4-5 times in the last 2 months. It usually seems to happrn when the temperature starts to drop, don't know if that comes into play at all.
  8. I've been having problems with my battery lately completely draining over night, and I can't seem to get to the root of the cause. It's a 2005 Sierra, RCSB, 5.3 with power everything. Only aftermarket things area some LED interior lights, with some light strips under the dash so I can see the floor at night, but I tied those into the rest do the interior lights and haven't had a problem with any of them. The other thing is my Kenwood touch screen, and I think this is might be where the problem is coming from because it doesn't always shut off when I open my door and sometimes I don't catch it and it drains the battery, and I don't thing it's the door actuator because all the interior lights all go off, just the radio stays on, is it the wiring of the deck? And if so how do I fix it?

    Thanks- Kyle

  9. If I was you I would keep it and supercharge it nice truck but glws

Thanks, the plan was to eventually do an lq9 swap, but really want something AWD to help with winter and still be fun, if it was 4wd I'd keep it cause it would be easier to go from 4wd to AWD but 2wd would be a lot more difficult. Haha
  10. Alright, I've decided to give this a shot, told myself I'd never sell this truck, but I've always dreamt of owning a Silverado SS, and that is the only reason for this. So here it is,

For sale is a 2005 GMC Sierra RCSB, this has been great truck for me with ZERO problems. Only reason I am selling is to buy a Silverado SS. For starters this truck is a 5.3 (lm7) engine with ONLY 62,000 miles. Truck has power everything, windows, mirrors, locks. Interior is clean and well maintained. I believe in taking care of my stuff.

    -Aftermarket Parts:

    Calspeed Longtube headers

    3 inch off road y-pipe

    3 inch Borla exhaust

Full 3 inch exhaust out the back.

Truck has a custom EFI Live tune on it.

All the handles have been color matched.

Intimidator SS replica wing on the tailgate

20 inch OEM LTZ Wheels with tires, freshly powdercoated gloss black.

The interiors has a full Bose center console to replace the middle seat.

    6k HIDs (highs,lows and fogs)

Truck is lowered 2 inches in the rear as well.

    - If you'd like to know more about it or are interested just give me a call or text.

The only reason I am wanting sell or trade is if you have a 03-06 Silverado SS, low miles (under 80k), would prefer it to be an 05-06, but if not I'd be able to work with it, MUST be AWD. Willing to add cash for the right deal.

Clean title in hand, no liens, ready to sell.

Don't really want to but a price on it, really just want to trade for a SS, but I'm going to put at $15,000, I know it high, I don't need to here it, just starting somewhere. I'm in the Kansas, Oklahoma area so the closer the better, modded or unmodded is fine by me.

Also, can send more pictures upon request of interior and whatever else you'd like.

    Thanks for looking - Kylepost-23626-141555343003_thumb.jpgpost-23626-141555347238_thumb.jpgpost-23626-141555348758_thumb.jpgpost-23626-141555355061_thumb.jpg

  11. Like the title says, I'm looking to trade my 20" OEM LTZ wheels for a set of Silverado SS wheels (matte, silver, or chrome) Reps or OEM it doesn't matter, 20's or 22's. Prefer to be in the Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri area. For the right wheels I will throw in some cash on my end.

I can send pics if needed, I'm mobile right now so can't upload them, PM me or I can text you pictures, wheels have been freshly powder-coated gloss black about a month ago.

    Thanks- Kyle

  12. Depending on what you want to do with the truck, daily drive it, race it, ect., that will help in picking a cam to go with. You can never go wrong with a proven cam for the lq9 such as a 224r or 228r but before the cam you need to make sure you have all the supporting mods, such as, longtubes, full exhaust to get the truck flowing well and then a mild stall if you're not looking for anything crazy. Also can never go wrong with a set of gears.
