Hey wow.....................the Gurus spoke and boy were they were right. I..........unfortunately didn't read the responses to my question until NOW ( 3 weeks after installing an Airaid throttle body spacer). It didn't help at all..........I lost performance big time. The worst part is I had to cut up my fan shroud because the Volant intake tube didn't clear it anymore. Now it's all jacked up. I'm taking the spacer off tomorrow. Maybe a different brand spacer works for other people but I'm going without one from here on out. Lesson learned and it's off to a wrecking yard for a new shroud.

What to do with my ugly tail lights?
dugs2003SS replied to bryanbone's topic in Appearance, Cleaning, & Detailing
I personally love a stock look. Go to a wrecking yard and get a set of stock tail lights. Cheap and easy fix. -

Wish the bed was just 1 foot longer. I could close the tailgate. -

Best way to load a bike by yourself. Got the stand at Harbor Freight and strapped it down on a rubber mat. No holes.....no scratches. -

Replaced the factory unit with this double DIN head unit from Dual. It's a cheapo but still better than the factory one. Also swapped out the front door speakers with Rockford Fosgate's. Still running the Bose amp, subwoofer and rear door speakers. I still have the door chime and steering wheel controls. It was a lot of fun getting it all wired up. -
Can u post another link? Nothing happens when I click on that one.

I'm new to SSS ownership and mine is AWD too. I don't know a lot about them yet but I DO know the front differential is becoming a pretty rare item and getting more and more expensive to replace ($2000+). Judging from the looks of one they don't look like they can put up with much torture. You are better off keeping it straight when you nail it. However............if you got money to burn then let er' RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sure looks cool. And please post a vid of it on youtube

Hi....... I noticed there seems to be quite a few members here from Texas. I was wondering if there is an exclusive REAL Silverado SS club here. I saw that there is a "Truck" club with some clones but what about a club for the real deal?

Hey are those pipes only going out the passenger side? The driver's side of the video was really blurry.

Hi.................the only thing I have left to do after a CAI and exhaust is a throttle body spacer. What is the best one to get?

Pics of the boxes with part #'s -
All of this can be found at: http://www.volant.com The website is a little confusing but all I know for sure is that the CAI I got was part #151536 and the "Scoop" was part #35960. I bought the CAI from 4 Wheel Parts here in Fort Worth, TX and I bought the scoop off of amazon.com. The "Scoop" goes over the air inlet in your passenger side bumper and up to the bottom of the Volant air filter box. It didn't exactly "cup" over the inlet in the bumper as the website suggests. It only went about an inch over it so I used Gorrilla tape to hold the two together. This may cause water drainage problems so I will be exploring other options and I welcome any suggestions from other members who have the same setup.

The bumper inlet and "Scoop" hooked up to the bottom of the Volant CAI for visual effect. Sorry about the bad pic quality. -
Looks awesome.....................somebody school me up: When was Silver an option? Was it just 2006?

Hi....I'm a new SSS owner. I've been shopping around for an Arrival Blue AWD since I was in Iraq. I just finally found one that is original owner and less than 100,000 miles. It's got a few dings and mechanical issues but for the most part it's in really good shape. So far I've done a Volant CAI and Flowmaster exhaust. Next will be a throttle body spacer and that's it. All I'm gonna do after that is all the little things until it's perfect.
