Freiler, who died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, remembered him as someone who "touched the lives of everyone he met," Friday evening at a candlelight vigil at the intersection where the accident occurred Tuesday. Freiler, 24, of 59 W. Washington St., No. 8, was remembered by his fianceé, Kelly Miceli as "the most special person." Miceli said she met Freiler through a mutual friend while out for a night on the town in November 2004 and, "it was love at first sight." Miceli said they were together only three months before he returned to Iraq. When Freiler returned home in July, he asked her to be his wife. The couple was set to wed July 7, 2007, because "he wanted a date that was easy to remember and it happened to fall on a Saturday," said Miceli. After graduating in 2000 from Bristol Central High School, Freiler enlisted in the service because he had a strong desire to do the right thing and a deep love for his country, his family recalled. He served an 18-month tour in Iraq with the 439th Quartermaster Battalion providing fuel to military vehicles, often while under heavy enemy fire, remembered his uncle, John Freiler. Miceli said her fiancé had just completed an apprenticeship through "Helmets to Hard Hats," an organization that helps soldiers find work in the civilian sector after their military careers. Dane Freiler had a lot of passions in life, said Miceli, such as dirt bikes as well as motorcycles. He had been riding dirt bikes with his three brothers and many cousins since childhood, and was teaching her how to ride the motorcycle she just purchased. Miceli said the couple had just finished a motorcycle safety class in early April and was looking forward to riding together. Another of Freiler’s loves was working on his 2005 Volkswagen Passat and detailing his motorcycle, the Yamaha 600 involved in the crash. "He loved working with his hands," said Miceli, who reminisced that Freiler also loved printing pictures and creating collages, which he hung "on all the walls." Shaun Laprise, 28, of Bristol, Freiler’s first cousin and best friend, said though he was a few years ahead of Dane in school, they grew up together and were always the closest of friends. "Energetic is the best way to describe [Freiler]. He was so energetic and he made everyone laugh," said Laprise, noting a description which fits with Miceli’s comment that Freiler was "the class clown" -- always laughing and smiling. Freiler, known to friends and family as an affectionate, strong person, told his Uncle John he wanted to be a police officer or fire fighter so he could help people. "[Freiler] was loved by everybody and we’re going to miss him," Miceli said. Freiler was thrown 25 feet from his motorcycle Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle turning left from Farmington Avenue onto Jerome Avenue, according to police reports. He was airlifted by helicopter to Hartford Hospital where he remained in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition until he died Wednesday. Freiler, remembers as someone always wanting to do the right thing and help others in life, was an organ donor. The father of Dane J. Freiler, 24, of 59 W. Washington St., No. 8, on Thursday confirmed his son’s death the previous night, according to traffic Lt. Kevin Morrell. Freiler’s uncle, John Freiler, a retired New York City police detective, said his nephew served in the Army in the 439th Quartermaster Battalion and was stationed in Iraq from April 2003 through August 2004 working to deliver fuel to military vehicles "where he was constantly subject to enemy fire." Freiler said his nephew returned to Iraq in February 2005 and stayed through July of that year as a civilian performing the same job in an effort to save money for his July 7, 2007 wedding to fiancee Kelly Miceli. "He was really interested in serving his country and doing the right thing," said John Freiler. "He felt compelled about that." John Freiler forwarded an e-mail to The Bristol Press that Dane sent him from Iraq in July 2005 in which his nephew wrote, "When get home do plan on trying to find a job as a police officer, fireman, ... am sure you can tell by now [i’m] very motivated when it comes to serving my country and its people. ..." John Freiler said there will be a wake for his nephew Saturday and Sunday at Funk Funeral Home and the funeral will be Monday. According to the accident report, Dane Freiler was riding his Yamaha 600 motorcycle west on Farmington Avenue and collided with the front right side of the Buick Century driven by Eleanor Kuchinskas, 80, of 167 Vance Drive when she attempted to turn left onto Jerome Avenue. An investigation into the accident by the Serious Traffic Accident Recon-struction Team (START) is expected to take several weeks, said Morrell. He said both vehicles are being inspected to determine if mechanical failure may have contributed to the accident. Freiler was airlifted to Hartford Hospital where, according to staff, he remained on life support in the Intensive Care Unit until he died Wednesday evening. John Freiler said his nephew’s organs were donated, so in death he may help others. No charges have been filed, according to Morrell, who said, "It will take several weeks to complete the investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call police at 584-3035.

I just purchased a Plasma and a 1000 watt Samsung Home entertainment system. It has wirless (ready) rear speakers but I neet to get some type of adapters, one plugs into to reciever, the othe plugs into the speakers. I can seem to find it on the net. anybody ever go this route yet ?? Thanks

I feel for ya dude ! I have always had german shepherds, I little while back, my oldest son and I had to put down the dog like with no notice. (Stomached fliped) Plus other issues I sat on the floor with my kid and the dog in our lap while the nurse injected him. We cried together for a solid 15 minutes.....if that wasent father & son bonding I dont know what is ! a 40 year old and a 18 year old shedding tears together. And then some people are so disrespectful....the say $hit like. it was just a f'n dog. FU I say, people like you dont deserver a pet ! Well ya know what......Go get another dog ! We did !!
