  1. Yeah, the head unit I'm looking at has the app radio functionality, but it also has two usb ports, an sdhc slot, and it plays mp3s from a CD/DVD and has a 7" motorized removable touch screen with the highest resolution I've been able to find. It does have 3 sets of 4V pre-outs.
  2. ok... I don't know what the deal is. I guess I've got more to learn about the internets... instead of linking directly to the video this should work: http://www.avclub.com/articles/watch-the-video-for-puscifers-tim-and-ericlike-tak,92713/
  3. It's showing up in firefox and chrome for me, but not in IE. Hmmm.... maybe internet explorer doesn't have youtube?
  4. When I bought my SSS I was quite satisfied with the sound and head unit, but did intend to upgrade the system down the road... like after I was done with making the truck faster and look nicer. Alas, shortly after buying it the cd player stopped working and I HATE the radio. Can't stand it. So, I'm going to be replacing the head unit soon so I can gain back control over what I'm listening to and I'm looking for any advice on what I should do/keep in mind while I'm replacing the head unit to make life easier down the road when I upgrade the rest of the system. I'm looking at a Pioneer AVH-8400BH. Seems like a good time to buy these as Pioneer rolls out their 2013 line up. This unit does have pre-outs, but I've never done a whole car audio system before so I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something that I'll need that this head unit doesn't provide. It may be years before the rest of this happens, but I'd prefer not to drop another $500 on a new head unit in a couple years because I failed to plan ahead. Thanks for any input.
  5. If he really wants to impress people he should put a ZR1 badge on there...
  6. Thanks! Here's a link to a short slide show my girlfriend put together for me. https://www.dropbox.com/s/12vrlctg4soey2m/Iron%20Chariot.wmv
  7. I bought my truck without the badges on the doors and I love it . I can't upload images to the site yet, but here are a couple dropbox links: https://www.dropbox.com/s/69zrfx3ncefd5g5/029s.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/s/hahseaea70nv4rh/030s.JPG
  8. Yeah, it's definitely a real SS. Painted bumpers, SS emblem in the dash and head rests, plus the VIN the checks out. I do really need to get some good pictures of the truck. I'm embarrased to admit that my truck has not yet been properly washed and detailed since I've bought it. It was one of the first things to do on my list when I got it and between tire problems right off the bat and just life generally getting in the way it hasn't happened yet. But when it does there WILL be pictures to prove it , and I'll certainly post them up here.
  9. Thanks for the quick replies guys. How do these mount? Are there holes that would have to have been filled in when they were removed?
  10. Hey guys! I've had my SS for a little over a month now and I'm trying to get a handle on anything that might have been modded by the previous owner (Cat-back exhaust, 6 spoke chrome wheels from the dealer, and a trailer brake controller for sure) . My truck has only one SS badge on the lower left hand corner of the tailgate. I've noticed badges on the doors as well on some other SSS's I've seen around town and on the internet and I'm just curious if the badges were removed on my truck, of if the door badges were added in a later year, etc. Thanks for the help!
