I do get the MAF code once in a while but i thought it was just from the K&N intake on it
-
I agree with the plugs and wires, im ready to start throwing parts at it, just need to know where to start, and its so hard to replicate the issue, most of the time it drives fine
-
Plugs and wires are about 7 years old? Fuel pump maybe?

Good info here, i was just trying to find mine

2004 silverado ss
all stock but with a intake exhaust and hypertech programmer
So I had a 6 hour drive and found about 4 hours into it going uphill the motor seemed to cut out or miss fire or something best way i could describe it is it you left off the gas pedal for a split secot then was right back on it, this would happen going up hills on on long straights where my foot wouldent move all the petal at all. Did not do it all the time, it was here and there. no engine codes. any ideas?

Trailor has surge brakes

i gotta pull a 6500lbs van from sea level to 7000 feet and back down
-
I read up to 7500lbs? is this correct
-
ok just saw this so im kinda confused
1) is the truck stock height?
2) only thing changed to belltech sp shocks and went away?
If you asking me, The truck was lowered already when i bought it, looks about like 2 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear. (no drop spindels) I had done other things over the years, rims, brakes, idler arm, pitman arm, steering shaft (steering shaft got ride of a clunk) but none of them got rid of the shimmy, The next thing I swapped out was the shocks for the BTs and it has not shimmys once since then.
-
^^^ lol
-
Yup. Thats all i did and the issue so far seems 100% resolved. The shimmy was a daily occurrence before and it has not happened once since i put those new bt shocks on

thats good to hear bro
ya its been a issue for a long time, Wish I would have done this sooner, They been on a week no with no issues =]
-
Still drivin good, I have yet to have the issue since I swapped em out
-
First Drive down, it did not do it BUT it does not do it everytime. This is a good sign but does not say for sure if it fixed the issue or not, I will keep reporting how its going and if the issue comes back
on a side note, The truck ride is really Firm compared to the OEM's. I like it
-
We will see today what happens
-
So I grabbed some Belltech's and slapped em on, We will see today if it helped the shimmy.

For Mods its really nothing crazy, twister mufflers, k&N intake and a programmer
-
I had a pretty desent system in it for a while but ended up putting my back seat back in, I have a astro van with a huge system so i dident really need this in my SS, plus it was not as fast =]

I cleaned the throttlebody a couple weeks ago, I tried the MAF sensor cleaner but the code still pops up so maybe just time for a new one?
