  1. there is a lock button on the piece that drops down that looks like a metal pecker found it after I removed the whole setup
  2. Mines been out since 2006 and no problems my tuner has never asked anything about it when tuning and haven't had one problem and as said I looked at it as a restriction
  3. I used a jigsaw the speakers came with a template etched what I needed to cut wicked simple
  4. I just had to shave a half moon off the top and bottom and drill 4 hole to mount to still looks oem sounds way better but they take 150rms so there way under powered
  5. I put alpine type r 6 1/2 in my rear doors when the magnets fell off the stock Bose 4x6 ones just wish they had more power to them looks good man
  6. Happy Father's Day to all just getting to a all stars baseball game with my 11 year old step son they have been killing it but can't wait till hockey season starts back up they killed it last year 1 loss 2 ties and won every other game including the championship game
  7. I paint lines in the road dodge cars and yell at idiots on there phone doing stupid shit and practically jumping on there hood while yelling to get off the phone a$$ whole still doesn't help nobody cares anymore Sorry Chris that sucks
  8. There web site said 425 and it is I have talked with them to see if it would handle boost and it will and they also said there porting helps it breath a lot better then stock if I was to do the tbss intake I would probably still get it from them ported with the NW throttlebody I just kinda like the look of our engine cover better then the tbss I only use the center one and no sides the tbss cover is kinda big
  9. I'm not fired up at all I'm just trying to figure out how a thread asking about a ported stock intake turns into trying to steer me to jump on the tbss intake bandwagon if nobody has tryed the intake maybe its better then you think so far not one person has actually tryed the intake here. I'm just looking for someone that's actually had one of these ill leave my stock intake on till after my build and find a different intake worst case scenario not really a big deal
  10. It wasn't onebadcobra was it ha ha ha one cobra down more to go
  11. do you have any experience with a ported stock intake cause you keep giving advice about a stock intake thats already on my truck I already know the stock intake that is untouched doesn't flow well I agree on that but unless you've used a ported stock intake then you really wouldn't know if it would help its just increasing air flow I think it would atleast do that
  12. The intake I was asking if anyone has tryed is a stock intake ported not a tbss intake they use to split the intakes in half to port but as stated in past post in this thread they don't port the intakes like that anymore do to problems they go through the throttlebody hole to port them now checkout peak speed shops website if you have questions on these intakes I would like to keep the illusion of running a stock intake but ported to gain air flow I like the stock look and don't want a tbss intake I already know of the gains from them just interested in trying something different
  13. sorry I didn't see your post when I talked to peak I was told they use to split the intake to port them and now they port them through the throttle body hole so that might have been the issue your talking about. The concern I had when i called was if there ported stock intake could handle the boost I have planned for it he said there would be no problem boost away
  14. Not bad the impala has a 5.3 with close to 315 hp and lighter then the SS pickup that guy must've been like damn that trucks fast
  15. No spare unless I go on long trips
  16. I find it easier to clean without the screen and there is a MAF spray I use
  17. The only upgraded fuel mods I'm doing is the injectors & overdriving the fuel pump with a boost a pump setup
  18. I will give you an update what I'm putting together so far I've got a vortech si head unit that they claim will produce 15lbs of boost and the bracket to mount the head unit also I have a intercooler good to 750hp that I plan to mount similar to a procharger setup. I still need to run pipe also vortech informed me ill need to mount a blow off valve between the head unit and intercooler I'm thinking I'm gonna get a turbosmart bubba sonic I also need to run oil feed and return for the head unit and fuel pressure & boost gauge. At the time all this gets done my truck will be getting towed to my tuner for a cam,c5r timing chain, pushrods, valve seals, valve springs,60lb injectors, boost a pump to overdrive the fuel pump and a upgraded ls6 oil pump and then a tune I'm not sure how much power it will have after all of this its kinda gonna be a surprise how much power it will make. That's why I'm thinking of just swapping for a ported stock intake and throttlebody for the cost of $425.00 I can always upgrade to something else when money replenishes after the original build is done I think it will at least equally flow to all 8 cylinders cause it seems looking at the inside view of the stock intake on peak speed shops web site it doesn't
  19. That's exactly what mine looked like when I took it out once you've got to this point theres no going back the screen will be junk
  20. Right now I'm locked into needed a few other items for my build and doing the tbss intake I would have to swap not just the intake but upgrade the fuel , change out the throttlebody and purchase an xlink to operate the throttlebody the price of the xlink alone would compare to a ported stock intake&throttlebody I'm just trying to get more air that is more equal to all cylinders mainly I was just wondering if anyone has used one of these or know someone who has used one. Right now I have arh LT cattless and staight through magna-flow round mufflers dumping out before the passenger tire it seems like the stock intake is sipping through a straw compared to the free flowing exhaust. I'm about to put some boost to the engine and figured one of these intakes would help for now until I get passed finishing what I got going on the truck now
  21. FOR ALL THAT ARE JUST CHECKING THIS THREAD The number Is posted call and ask any questions the guy only had the truck for a week never became a member of this site
  22. I agree fiberglass pile of trash oem or nothing FTW
  23. The price is intimidating isn't it LoL I had to
  24. I don't wanna change out my stock intake for something else that's why I was thinking of running the ported stock intake with a ported stock tb just a quick swap without having to mess with fuel lines or anything
