  1. ^ well you cant run 295's or 305 on a 8.5" wheel... ok lets face it iv heard worse stores then a 295/20' running a bit of a skinny rims, its shouldnt be done, and really shouldnt be done on a pickup truck due to the more weight being added to increase the poping of the wheel. again i want to run a 20x10 rim and the rockstarts have been a high time favorite of mine for a everylong time. and since im not going to be running rockstars on my diesel (due to a 10lug convertion) only makes sense when i switch tires to run rockstars. thats to kelleyperformance saying itll fit
  2. actually not many rockstars are running around anymore, due to the fact everyone was runnign them. so almost everyone started to get rid of the,. i love the big huge 5 spoke plus you can take away the center caps and they look a bit different. i really wanted a pair of like 6 spoke drifter style rims cuz i think they look clean (i have a pic of a silverado with a pair on) and it gives a bit of a weird look cuz no one has really big thick 6 spokes
  3. im not asking what wheels or tires i should run, only asking if the tires size, and rims spec fit in a 3/4 lowered SSS. anyone running a simulor lower with a tire this wide with a rim spec this close? im not putting a 295 on a 8.5" rims. im getting a 20x10 rim. that is the recomended size, hell the 20x12 rockstars are cheap, but its to wide for the 295 (i hate lips showing) and im sure i couldnt fit it in there without a lot of trouble.
  4. im want to get new rims and tires for my SS. want to run 295/45/20 (bfg g-Force T/A KDW 2) i know 305, yall say they dont rub and i like the g-force alot so the wheel specs are Size: 20x10 Offset: -24mm Backspacing: 4.52" Bolt Pattern: 6-139 Rec. Tire Size: 305/55-20 Weight: 39.2lbs. i saw the stock wheels are 22 or 21 i cant remember off my head but i dont know the back spacing with a 3/4 drop i want to put on soon will these wheels clear? with this offset and backspacing?

  7. a stupid question that was brought up that idk if it matters or not. got the truck originally had a double din in it. guy took it out and took a stock one out of a trail blazer he just got. well the stock one was locked so i never got it unlocked due to im in germany, now this doesnt matter does it??? i dont need to unlock it (i figure i dont but.....)

  9. finally figured out how to get this radio wired up. but no sound. while fidilling with it some more, for like 2 seconds the sound came on when volume was at full blast, we both were like WTF. and it happened again while fidilling aroudn again?? has anyone came across from this. we had to cut the pink/black wire and splice it into the dark blue wire on my harness to make an acc that isnt installed on this truck. i have a 05 with onstar/bose

  11. dont know much about the big block vs small but are the headers the same?? i was going ot get obx headers for my build but i cant find the ones they use to make for the ls style ones. they were same as the ones im posting but were under 500... these are over 500 and made for big blocks http://www.racingpartdepot.com/servlet/the-4954/OBX-Chevy-Big-Block/Detail im trying to do a twin turbo upfront and high so i can run the down pipes down and under the heads and out the back

    3.42?? yeah the ss is 410... i really want to lower my gearing, since im in germany i want 3.75 maybe lower if possible. again i cruise at highspeeds. heck i only do 80 cuz 90+ is 8mpg while 80 is around 14 or so. i have a hard time hand jamming my number since my fuel comes out in liters not gallons :rolls eyes: but yeah im looking at a tuner, and possible going to get new gears for this baby, almost all highway and even the back roads are 60mph legal form town to town so unless im in town i never do less then 60mph never
  13. agreed with why tow with these. unless its ones in a blue moon. you can pick up older 7.3 ford diesels so cheap. that will town anything (passing 26000lbs total weight you need a cdl) im a diesel guy for DD truck, better mpg, better for towing, better mpg by far when towing, there frames are built to tow heavy loads, unlike a half tune. i belive the main thing is limited to 7000lbs is due to the hitch and brakes. even then i wouldnt put 15000lbs on the frame, its just not engineered to do it, just cuz you can doesnt mean you should when it comes towing limitation.
  14. you ever try and park a ss into a parking spot thats only as big as a wagen? i mean talk about tight even on post i can back into a spot and if i put my wheel into the curb i can actually back the bumper up to the car front bumper parked behind the truck when theres a grass median between the 2!!! its super small here in germany, i cant park this truck into a parking garge cuz you cant make the turns. i only want towing mirros cuz they stick out a bit more allowing me to see my bumpers. now im only here for 5 months now and its offical so im going to suck it up for 5months and ill just get my parkign tickets, pay it and move on with life lol
  15. heck i dont think 1000hp aint all that anymore. so many junk yard 5.3 even 4.8s running twin 76 cheap as can be and hitting aroudn 1000hp. granted im following onalong with a mild cheap build twin 76 turbos with a built drive chain to hold up so i can push better turbos and better internals in the motor down the line but to start really cheap. granted cheap means very very unreliable but if i can get say 10-10k mile out of the cheap mod i woudl be happy. with a build drive chain i woudl worry much now i saw a 1500hd i belive a 01. it all of what i wanted out of my SS 4 door, 4l80 8lug and a 6.0! and it was 6k o_0 ?? if i wasnt in germany and i knew this trust me i woudlnt have bough a ss, i woudl have bought a 1500HD swapped to a awd tcase and bamn done, lower drop a shift kit and a lowered suspension. then throw turbos but know im trying to decide get a HD 4door and then have an extra bed and engine to play with (sell off the frame and body) but swap bumpers and interior so i can have a ss 4door. or spend that money on a ford 9" front and rear independednt suspension system... hummm choices choices 9" with a 4l80 would make a good drive chain for a turbo 6.0
  16. 700 out of diesel isnt hard. dmax run 700 on stock injectors, turbo and fuel mods. all they do is basic bolts on hit that 550 and throw drugs at there motors. i mena iv got just shy of 500 on my powerstroke and i want to throw drugs at it but havent yet. no im trying to hit the 1000ft-lbs tq with this ss. so looks like ill find a 1500hd (what years did these come in and im guessing the one im looking for was a 4x4 with a 5.3?)
  17. again if its possible i think the mod could be done cheaper then having to build up SS diffs to hold power. just located a front ifs 2500 (06 with 38k) for 350 (so i make up brackets or try and use or mod the ss ones to hold that diff) and i found a rear axle for 250$ fron disk to disk out a 03 if anyones got any ideas. i might just jump on it, so i can attempted to do the mod
  18. so im a big diesel guy, this ss is going to be a race truck in a couple year. i keep throwing the idea of why not just throw a duramax rear and front diff into the ss. they throw 700+hp and all there doing is adding a bigger cover to hold more oil inside, that or lockers but not really changing the diffs to hold power, i think the dmax guys change the cv's so they dont have to worry though so the question is 2500 axles? i know with enough time and a welder anything can be added but i was thinking if the carrier assembly is the same and the frames were the same width (cuz im trying to put f500 into a f350 now but the 550 is a 3in smaller frame width wise) so how close is the 1500 and 2500? has anyone put 8lugs on a SSS? if i can i think it would be easy and then get the upgraded 930 bullet proof cv's have the shortened (they come in custome lengths) for a lowered truck and this will cover the front and i will throw the rear in to just to keep the lugs the same and the diesel ones hold up without any real mods besides traction bars (i want a 4link anyways) any thoughts on this?

    im not a fan of audi what so ever. if i got this truck were i wanted it before i left im sure i could leave audi looking at tail lights, but i dought ill be staying here longer then 6months maybe not i dont know yet. all th epick up over here are super small. i think the vw mid sive that was suppose to hit the american market about 2years ago has the biggest cab iv seen on germany.... untill you start looking at there working pick up ther like f650 sized yet not as powerfull im sure and still only single cabbed and still have a small bed funny thing is most car from bump to bump will end around the end of my cab. so parking is fun having a the hole bed stick out pretty much the hole time

    pretty ruff? i mean it was super smooth. i was going liek 108 at 5000rpm let off the throttle so the tranny woudl shift bakc into highgear and i droped to aroudn 3500 if i remember right, so there still about 20mph to have. i still have my gti and im so use to crusing at 120mph and i kinda want that back is all. i wanted to get a tune for this truck just need to decide on witch on and now has to beable to deleate that govoner.... and all my tires are highspeeds i have to look up the code but i belive there upwards of the 130's so im good (its a law in germany that a huge ticket so we know the tires speeds and all) i was surprised how smooth these truck was at speeds to, ride was amazing. and still didnt seam fast once i got the tranny to shift

    so what the deal with the ss having a governor??? realy i mean just below 110?? or 175k is what my gps said (all this was done on the autobahn and i was disapointed) so how can i get rid of this?
  22. this here is for towing and being able to see the trailer, this isnt what im looking for. i want that little break between the upper and lower glass thats on the hd. i move that lover one so i have no blind spot what so ever, this truck shoudl never see a trailer untill its being towed somewere for a race. thats for the help knowing 01-05 and 06+ dont have the ability for power folding
  23. i have the power ones now on my ss, but there not the HD, i just love haivng that little lower convected mirror it helps so much in tight spots humm yeah iv seen the manual telescoptic with all power (just dont say about the power folding) for 360$ will have to ask my bro if he can drop into the dealer and see if they sell them. the power folding you just hold the right arrow in then they fold in, i just need to retain that cuz i dont need some guy hitting my mirror off in these little german cities
