  1. Anyone care to share some pics of their setup with longtube headers on their AWD SSS? I'm considering buying LT's for my truck and I was curious to see the setups you guys have. I've got shorties on now that the previous owner had put on with a full dual exhaust to the tips and I'm just not feeling it anymore. It has 2 SLP Loudmouth mufflers on it and it's a little too crackly for my taste.
  2. Just look for the RPO code in your glove box. M30=4l60e M32=4l65e MT1=4l80e
  3. Has anyone on here done a torque converter install how to? I've searched with no luck. I've helped do a TC swap on a regular cab silverado years ago but I wasn't sure how much more involved it is with AWD. Do you have to remove the transfer case or can you just drop the shafts and pull tranny, transfer case and all?
  4. I probably should. Guess I'll just have to do a little fab work to get the right fit. That'll give me something to do at work when I hqve to work graveyard. Glass half full...
  5. I don't have a y-pipe. I have a pipe going from each header down to a x-pipe. True duals. If the pacesetter ORY would work I would just use it in place of the x-pipe then just dump after a muffler. But then again, I have the x-pipe already in place so that would be a waste. So there lies the problem. Lol.
  6. I have a '05 AWD SS. Right now it has on a set of Headman short tube headers. I would like to put on some long tube headers and I've read some good things about Pacesetters for our trucks. My question is has anyone with AWD had any luck with their headers and has any been able to use their off road y-pipe? I've tried to seach for the info on here but I haven't seen a straight answer about fitment issues. Right now coming off of the header collectors I have 3" exhaust pipe running into an X-pipe, then pipes running to the back of the truck. I'm also trying to figure out if I could just re-use the existing exhaust pipe and keep the X-pipe in place. I know the long tubes collectors extend farther back than the shortys so I would probably have to cut and re-weld flanges onto my existing pipes. If any one on here has any experience with this I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I can also post some pics of my exhaust set up if that would clear up what I'm talking about. Thanks. -Josh
  7. How far down did you cut the stock hard lines? I'm thinking about trying this on mine because I plan on putting a bigger TC on later on down the road.
  8. Muskogee. About 45 miles SE of Tulsa.
  9. This video was taken with my phone so the sound quality sucks but maybe you can get the jest of the exhaust: http://youtu.be/m9xK16xqqXI
  10. I'll try to get one on here this evening.
  11. I think it may have been taken off when they sprayed the bed liner and just never put back on. I'm gonna keep my eyes out for one. Don't know how hard it would be to find one at a salvage yard or something...
  12. Here's a link to another post with some pics: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/81310-black-2005-awd/
  13. I've actually owned this truck for a few months now but I'm new to the site. The truck isn't showroom nice or anything but it's 8 years old and has 110k on it now. It needs a little work done to bring it up to par but it's still a beauty in my eyes. It had some mods already done to it when I bought it so at least I don't have to start from stock. It has Headman shorty headers, Y-pipe, X-pipe, SLP mufflers, all 3" to the back bumper, ebay CAI, Transgo HD-2 shift kit, and a custom tune. I tinted the tail lights and brake bar, added HID headlights, and the DVD player so far. I plan on going with a mail order tune, Pacesetter LT's, Circle D 3200 stall, corvette servo, and a cam later down the road. I've wanted one of these trucks for a long time and they are getting increasingly harder to find so when this one popped up for sale 30 minutes away I jumped on it. I love that it's the AWD version being that my last truck was 2WD and it sucked in bad weather. It need a little TLC and I think it'll be my DD for a long time to come.
  14. Thanks for the info. I didn't realize it was that common of a problem. I'll try to utilize the search bar more.
  15. When I turn on my heated seats, they'll stay on for about 20 seconds then shut off. Then when I try to turn them back on they'll shut off immediately. Any ideas on what's causing this?
  16. Hey everyone. Glad to get on board here. I have an '05 SSS and I love it. I have big plans for it in the future when I can afford it. There's some really good info on here and hope to soak up as much as possible. Hope to make your aquaintence. -Josh
