  1. Any special connectors that I need to stick in the relay holes? Also, can I use a standard 12 volt charger as the power source? Thanks
  2. Got 'er hooked back in, thanks guys. Now I have to wait patiently to get my PCM back from zippy and hope that fuel doesn't spray everywhere when the pump turns on!
  3. It comes out the middle-top of the engine and goes towards the driver's side. It looks like it comes out of a vac port (same type blow off valve is connected to). It has a metal cap with a small hole at the end. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow if no one can figure it out.
  4. I think I finally have everything in correctly; however I just noticed a small insulated pipe/hose that runs out of the top of the engine that runs off about a foot and isn't connected to anything. Did a accidentally pop something off? I can't find anywhere that it might go to.
  5. I dropped an injector in the engine and it took me an hour to find ... but I did get the passenger side injectors swapped. Will be going after the drivers side (much more cluttered) tomorrow. Then when I get my PCM back from zippy I'll just hope I don't have any leaks. Thanks for the help guys!
  6. Ok. Passenger side injectors out. The very immobile rail is just making it very annoying
  7. Ok... So far I've gotten the two fuel bar bolts off of each side. The problem is that there are things that criss-cross on the top of the engine that prevent the fuel bars from moving much. Any suggestions, or is that normal? Also, I can't seem to get the injectors unclipped. Is there a trick to this? They have a gray plastic piece that pulls off, if that gives you enough information to help. Thanks
  8. Well I pressed the valve stem in a few times and there didn't seem to be any pressure in there, I'm guessing because the truck as been sitting for a couple days. The installation fun begins tomorrow!
  9. Zippy told me to get Siemens Deka long injectors and that I would need some spacers of some sort, so it must be for shimming the fuel rail higher as you said.
  10. I'm going to be putting in 60lb injectors as suggested by Zippy. I'm pretty amateur as far a working on cars, but these don't look too difficult to change. My questions are: 1. How do I make sure pressure is relieved on in the fuel system without having to start the truck up? I'm pretty sure I've read that there is a valve or something I can loosen in there, I just don't know where it is. My truck has been sitting for a couple days as I have already sent my computer to Zippy. 2. The injectors and connector adapters will be delivered tomorrow, but I still need to get some sort of spacers. What do you guys typically use for this and how many? Thanks, Alex
  11. Started this thread earlier: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/82112-talk-me-intoout-of-a-sss/ Had looked into an SSS in the fall and ended up going a different direction because I got a great deal on another vehicle. Well, I finally decided that I needed to get one of these so I sold my car and this one popped up for sale. I was planning on picking up a SSS and putting on a CAI, getting a tune, and maybe doing a few bolt-ons. When I saw this one already had nicer wheels, a full pro-charger setup, a custom tonneau, and a custom hood I had to have it. I got a 1-way rental car and drove 7 hours each way to pick 'er up. The previous owner was great and had detailed maintenance records. Within the past couple of years he had sent in the procharger to get it checked out and make sure it was running great. He went over all of the oil changing maintenance and such. As an added bonus the back is already rigged up for a sub and amp so I just need to decide what to get in that regard. It sounds great and is very clean. Shifts smooth and no front end noise. It just needs some shocks and I have 4 Belltechs on the way. I also need to decide whether or not to throw on some window vents. I'm definitely loving it so far!
  12. I'll be towing rarely, but I will probably need to tow a boat or a small trailer on occasion. Otherwise it will just be my main ride. Thanks for the suggestions/help so far, now I need to decide to find one to test and then decide on which color.
  13. Ever since I sold my gp gxp and got an avalanche I've been missing that power. I had looked into an SS at the time but a great deal came up on an avy so I bought that. Well... now I'm selling my avy and looking for a real truck that has some scoot. I drove an 05 qc hemi ram and liked how it put me back in my seat. That's pretty much what rekindled the SS fire. I'm looking to spend less than 15k up front and plan on adding most of the bolt ons, getting a tune, and possibly a cam swap. I like the size and looks of the ram, but there are SO many on the road. So what are your opinions? Any suggestions? Thanks
