  1. Im having a cat converter code right now. I havent had time to mess witht he truck and see whats going on yet, so im not sure what it is. The MAF sensor is flagges too, so wheni get in from work (gulf of mexico) im going to clean the MAF and see what happens, If the cat remains throwing codes, im gonna get pace setter LT's and bye bye cats. I just got the truck, so ill do all that and get a tune if i cant get it straightened out. Man i would hate to have that raspy sound tho. I have dual flowmaster 40's turned down right behind the cab
  2. Ok cool man thanks. Yea it is very horrible. Totally takes away fron the "SS" look
  3. Pull up cup holder insert, there u will see the harness. Find speaker wires in there, cut them, and run to radio. I can't remember the wire colors, but I know it works. Your onstar will not work anymore, but a PAC OS2 Bose adapter is like $180!
  4. Yea that's the one that I did find. Figured that was a little high.. no? I apprecieate the help. This thing has got to go
  5. Wow man thanks for that. Its killin me to get off this rig amd go tinker with it.. see what I got ya no lol?
  6. I got this truck a few days ago, and the grill is absolutely horendous. Its got to go asap. Anybody got one they would sell? Preferably red so i dont have to paint. Ive only found one online, and it was pretty pricey. Thanks in advance.
  7. Ok, well as soon as I get home, ill get em and post here. Thanks guys.
  8. Hey guys, Im new here. Ive done a few searches and never could find both of these in the same article sooo.. Just got my 2nd SSS yesterday. Its an '03 with 165K on odometer, and 40K on new engine installed by Chevrolet. I was informed when i bought it that the check engine light was on because of some sort of vent valve i believe for the fuel tank...pollution crap yada yada.. Anyway, I got it scanned when i got home and it pulls 3 codes. I dont know the exact codes, but it was the vent valve, the MAF, and the cat converters. So, heres my questions.. 1) Is my MAF dirty, or completety out making it flag as well as the cats? 2) Are the cats getting clogged causing them and the MAF to flag? 3) Do you guys think its an O2 sensor issue making all this flag? Id hate to just start changing parts chasing an unknown problem, because the horrible truth is im not rich haha. The truck has dual Flowmaster 40's with turndowns. When the truck is cold, It rarely starts on first attempt, gotta bump the key twice. It seems to run just fine once started, and once its warm, it starts right up. Now when i say "cold" i mean if i let it sit longer than about half an hour it will not start right up. Is this caused because of these codes? It also seems to shift a little funny at times. Now, granted i drove the truck for a total of 2hrs before i came to work, so i dont know the truck just yet, but figured you guru's would need to know every detail i can give to help me get to the bottom of my issue. It doesnt seem to be "lugging" so its hard for me to believe the cats are stopped up.. but i will say this, I had a completely stock '06 SSS that would walk the dog on this one.. (for what its worth) Im hoping you guys can give me a starting point so i can get her running like shes supposed to. Im offshore in the gulf of mexico for the next two weeks so i wont be able to try anything until i get home, but i plan on changing the fuel filter, plugs&wires, and doing a seafoam treatment when i get home. Thanks in advance guys, Gerald.
  9. It sou ds exactly like a wheel bearing. But I get no play on my wheels, which doesn't mean anything. After reading all this about the front diffs in these things, I assumed that's what it was. Its only when driving under light acceleration. Not when I let off, and not when I floor it. Cruising down the road holding steady speed, barely accelerate, it starts "growling", and will get louder/more intense as I accelerate a little bit harder. Idk I just got the truck and like I said had to come right bak to the rig. Didnt have a chance to mess with it yet. Plan on pulling the fluid out as soon as I get home. 10. I just got an SS yesterday. Its an '03 with 167k miles. New motor fron chevrolet 40k miles ago. But the front end is "growling". Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to pull the drain plug bc I had to come back offshore early this morning. (Yes I drove it the 210 miles to the heliport I fly out of) how could I resist lol. Ill pull the oil out when I get home and see what it looks like. I've read that some just make noise, and I've also read that if its making any noise at all, somethings wrong with it. I have no clue how long its been doing this. Whats a guy to do Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
