  1. I like the Rotella T- 6 5W40 I'm using it all the time.with Rislone zinc additivein the car.
  2. The almost 1 point compresion bump will sure help low end grunt on a cam swap
  3. I will leave the break in debate alone. But with that cam swap you changed out the springs? and open pressure is what? It's 360psi open in my Camaro almost twice stock open pressure. that calls for some good oil. Oil is not what it used to be then the EPA got involved and the fact that zinc is a cat killer. hot oil pressure suffers in that car @ 2000 miles with mobile1 Bob is the oil guy dot com is some good reading.
  4. 243s 64cc 317s 71cc 317s are sand cast heads 5,6,7,8, Hp can be picked up cleaning up the casting flash 243 & 317 ports are the same other wise 035s are semi perminate mold type heads like the 243s but seem kinda rare 243s on a LQ9 should have static compression @ about 11:1 what are you using for a cam?
  5. Did you get this taken care of yet? If not PM me I can hook you up at a price you will like and a one day turn around.
  6. Yes I did, I liked the fact it lived most of it's life in Ga. Two years in Ky. the rest in Fla La. Ga. the GMC I bought in 2002 was a S.Dak truck and ended up among the rustiest of the GMT 800 trucks I have seen on the road. Car Fax showed an accident that I could see no evidence of until I owned a couple of weeks and had done a couple of hand washings. I still have the GMC to pick parts off of, I put the Air-Lift helper bags and compressor from it on the SS. Swapped batteries as the sellers bought a 500cca group 78 to put in it. The water pump had a cold water leak so I swapped it out. The radio was a pos so it got a Kenwood double din and I got the module to get the steering wheel controls to work. Replaced a drivers side seat heater element. I still need to get the electric fan of the GMC and the 4L60 is getting swapped out as it only has 3000mi on it. I am getting the parts ready for the cam heads swap. The 317s have two broken bolts on the left head so I bought some low mileage 317s to go though for $100 I could not find any 035s at a reasonably priced. I did some hand porting on the runners and they got surfaced and a valve job, dual springs titanium retainers. It's getting a Crane 210-218 112lsa .531lift cam that will put the wot shift points at 6100rpm The factory tune in these trucks is fairly aggressive for a factory tune but the 1-2 shift at 5200 is pretty lame. I still need to round up some parts bolts, gaskets , Trunion kit ect.
  7. Why yes I did. Were you a bidder? That is the picture from the Ebay listing now the truck has winter wheels on it. It was listed twice 1st buyer did not pay. Did not know until I picked it up I had bought it from a pawn shop that does title loans some poor soul got hustled out of a truck.
  8. Bought an '04 arrival blue ss in Oct last year to replace a very rusty '99 Sierra. I've been lurking around since using google for search getting most of my questions answered from old threads. Thought I would join up and say hi. The truck I bought had 118,000 mi and had been used as a truck meaning some dings and scratches which is ok as I feel the price reflected that and I'm also going to use it as a truck and it would be hard to do that to a low mileage cream puff. Don't get me wrong it's not a pos and still looks very nice. I'll do some mods but it will stay pretty close to stock. I already have a cammed, slammed, stalled and loud hot rod but a very small cam and some exhaust are going to be in it's future.
