  1. See that's what I thought. I figured for the money compared to trunions it made sense. Wouldn't be as nice as 1.8s but still a worthwhile upgrade for the dollar. Otherwise why would people spend the money on the reunion upgrade

  4. And now you see why I'm conflicted. For the price it makes it easy to justify against the comp upgrade But without them being 1.8's I don't know if it's even worth it. I know I will not go too aggressive on the cam as this needs to remain a dd vehicle for a while.
  5. The only reason I'm Ben thinking about it is cuz I'd be buying them for about $180. If they were 1.8s is probably have done it already I just not sure if it's worth it for 1.7s
  6. I have the chance to buy a brand new set of the crane rockers for less than half. http://m.summitracing.com/search?keyword=144750a-16 1.7 ratio. Is it worth it ? All stock right now, but shortly I will be getting a cam & tune and calling it a day. My cheapass side wants to buy them cuz it's such a deal but I just for know if it's worth it. Thanks for the advice guys.
  7. I think I'd like to stay short of doing heads/intake and tb on this truck. I have another build planned that will be a 6.0 going into a late 49s/early 50s chevy c3100. The plan for this one is more just a cam, few trans upgrades, appearance mods and drive it. I just want to make sure I get everything that requires a retune done before I get the tune made.
  8. As shameful as it is I'm gonna make a "help me spend my money" thread. I have been and will continue searching through the threads. So background, I have an 04 SSS AWD just over 100k. Currently had a k&n intake, diablosport programmer and chopped mufflers. I know all about the canned tunes but I just wanted something quick and easy when I bought the truck to last me a few months before I could really start modifying things. Anyway. I know that sometime soon I am getting a custom tune. What I need to know is what should I plan on buying/ upgrading before then? Plans are to stay naturally aspirated. Definitely going with a cam and new torque converter plus servos. I guess I just need to know what parts specific to these trucks I should look for. I've done plenty of builds on other vehicles just new to the LS platform. Thanks guys I really appreciate any info.
  9. Good to know thanks. Reading another thread on the matter, I saw a post about the underseat harness shorting out. So I tried the old move the seat and push the button and the heater stays on the whole time the seat is moving. So hopefully my internals are fine and just the wiring needs attention. Also when pushing the driver side it cuts the passenger side off. Another thing that points to wiring. But before that I think I'm gonna work on a tune.
  10. Thanks guys. The wheels are gonna get powder coated black sometime soon. As far as the heating element. Are they possible to fix? Or do you just have to live with it?
  11. Hey guys. Got my 04 SS about 5 hours ago. I have been lurking the past few days since I decided I was getting one. Already have a few mods planned out. Truck already has a k&n intake on it. Anyways. Few small issues I need to address. The trans temp gauge no worky. Need to track that down. Also the drivers side seat heater doesn't work. When you push the button it flashes orange and then shuts off. Also annoying. Other than that I'm living this clean rig.
