    03 Build

Looks sweet. I'd like to do some of these ideas to my 03. Always wanted the LSXRT but lately been thinking about supercharger instead. I kinda like the looks of the ones that take the place of the intake.
  2. Red04supersport has a blue one for sale a couple posts down. Drop him a line. He might still have it. If not shopman may make another batch after he settles in Florida in like 6 months or so. If there is enough demand that is.
  3. Seems a little misleading in marketing. They should have rules against such lies! Lol
  4. Maybe he didn't drive it but just sat in it making racing noises. Just because they have money don't mean they have a license. On a serious note, wouldn't the leather still age regardless? This is my first vehicle with leather interior so please excuse my ignorance of the subject.
  5. Nice concepts. I've always liked the tapered cowls on the S10. Wonder what that would look like on the SS. Props to all involved in resurrecting this thing. Wish I had some spare change lying around. Lol
  6. Fun fact about the Joe Gibbs edition, Joe Gibbs wanted an SS. He test drove one, but was disappointed in the performance. So he built his own performance truck. Stacy David had an interesting episode of Trucks on it. I wish he could have just worked on the suspension and go fast goodies for the SS. Would've saved some of us some money. Lol
  7. Wow. That's looks pretty sick tucked in behind there. Think I may be leaning that way.
  8. I have asked around performance truck but didn't really get any help on the technical side. I have researched different sites selling the kits. of course there are the reviews that say the kits are perfect and the ones claiming they are trash. Wish I had the dough for a 6 piston setup or maybe the Z06 swap. But I'm working around a budget. I got to repair my house roof and back deck this spring/summer. Being a home owner has its drawbacks. Lol
  9. Thanks for the reply, John. SSBC has a 14 inch kit for all 4 corners for like $700 vs Baer $545 per axle. My fear is exactly what porksoda pointed out, the stock calipers won't have any more contact on the rotor just in a different location. No point in shelling out cash if the larger rotor is being wasted. I've seen a lot of people doing the NNBS upgrade, or as widow informed of doing the newer SS calipers. I know I want a bigger rotor to feel the space behind the wheel but I don't want to throw away money on something not worth it. I haven't really seen any true reviews on the relocation kits. Not to mention I'm a terrible decision maker. Lol.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming your referring to a kit for larger rotors.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I also read somewhere along the same lines. I thought about doing Tahoe calipers with upgraded rotors. I wonder if they'll support 14 inch rotors...
  12. Is there a DBW 90mm TB that fits the NNBS style intake that doesn't require the x link? Looking for the cleanest look on my 2003 SS. Thanks.
  13. Okay guys I'm debating on buying a 14 inch caliper relocation kit from SSBC or doing the 13 inch upgrade to NNBS Tahoe parts. I have a 2003 AWD SS with dual piston rear. The front currently is 12 inch and the rear is 12.8 inch. What way to go?
  14. I have a friend that may be interested in this truck. Where are you located?
  15. Still doing some research on brake kits. I know Baer has a bracket relocation kit for 14 inch rotors $545 per axle. SSBC has a kit for both axles $690. I really want the bigger discs but if you can do the 13 inch upgrade for $300. Decisions.... Decisions. If only I won the lottery....
  16. Sold! Thanks to guineag60. Thanks to all who expressed interest.
  17. Sweet sound. Would love to hear an in cab clip. This would sound good on my truck. Lol. Then again I still have stock exhaust so most people's truck sound better than mine. Lol.
  18. Here are a few pictures. I had to resize and reduce the MP of the photo. Let me know if you want better or different pictures. Thanks.
  19. I am selling a Volant Ram Air scoop for 1999 through 2007 classic body styles. This came in a package deal I bought a year or so ago and I want to sell this scoop to buy the SS version. It is clean and comes with the silicon connector and 2 hose clamps. Here is a short description from Volant's site: "Scoop 35853 offers a ram air upgrade for LT trucks and SUVs equipped with the 4.8, 5.3. 6.0LT. This Scoop mounts below your frame behind the OEM valance and maintains a factory look with added performance. The 35853 installs in minutes by attaching the sleeve to the bottom of the air box and attaching the scoop to the frame using the OEM tow hook bolt. Note if your vehicle is not equipped with tow hooks trimming of the valance block of plate and a mounting bolt will be necessary to see the full hp and mpg benefits." I will try to get some pictures up as soon as I figure out how to do so. I'd like to get $80 plus shipping. Thanks.
  20. I would be surprised if any Android didn't work with Bluetooth. I think it needs special software to communicate with iOS which it appears this has. Not sure about the Android and USB working together. Some companies change their USB voltage slightly. If you have a newer Samsung phone you will get a message about using your factory charger if you plug it up with a lower voltage charger from say 5 years ago. Hope this helps a little.
  21. I was under the impression the 90mm throttle for these intakes were cable driven. Also there doesn't seem to be many drive by wire 90 mm out there. I was looking at the Fast system, but if I can get comparable performance from a system like this, why not? I am planning on doing Kooks LTs, DI/DO with 45 deg split exits. Gotta piece things together so the wife doesn't get upset. Lol
  22. How much of a PITA would it be to put this on a 2003 SS? I know this is quite a lot to do to change over to the cable driven throttle body, but I don't remember running across too many issues running a TBSS or NNBS intake on the 03-04 SS, also what kind of gains over stock could be expected? Am I correct in thinking this is 90mm?
  23. Not to open an old wound here, but I was thinking the trucks had a di/so muffler. Just curious about the "y" pipe issue. I was seriously considering buying the Kooks LTs with catted connection. I am about 2 hours from Kooks (according to the address on their website anyway) and thought about asking them to install in case there is an issue with fitment.
  24. Are these still available? Are they OEM and could you post more detailed pictures of the lights? My passenger head light is fading on my 2003 SSS and I have been looking at some options to replace it.
