  1. Did the same shop check the front end both times? Is thewre play in the steering wheel before the tires start turning? (That "could be" play in the steering box)

If there is slop in the front end components, (tie rod ends. Pitman or idler arm), the alignment is not worth doing and won't be stable.

Has the steering wheel been removed? There should be index marks on the steering wheel hub and the end of the shaft to properly align the wheel on the shaft.

I am not certain about this but it may be possible that something in the front end components could be bent enough to cause the steering wheel to be off center but not keep the wheels from being properly aligned.

If you've only dealt with one shop I would search out another shop with a really good rep.

    Best luck.

I am going to try a new shop, I think it's just more than an alignment. I'm guessing tie rods or ball joints.

  2. The steering wheel in my SSS has some play in it, and the wheel is off center to the right. I had it aligned, and then re-checked, but it's still off. Does this sound like a steering box or ball joint issue to you guys?

  3. Hey Dan, man you've had some rough times lately. Keep your head up though. We all go through them, and always remember to be thankful for all you do have. Even with you're hard luck, we still have it better than a lot of people. Best of luck from here on out!

  4. Congrats, looks just like the old one. Glad you where able to find a clean one! Saw your old truck driving yesterday I believe, keep us updated on your new one.

Does it still look the same?!
