  1. SS had the usual instrument cluster problems plus one major one that wasnt very common. The circuit board in the cluster had a short in it that caused it to constantly drain power, even when the truck was turned off and sitting. Plus the sticky speedo and poor lighting. Steve hooked me up and was able to cure all my problems and install my aftermarket overlay and needles. I did the US Speedo red stainless overlay with white led's. It looks way better than it did before and has all of the problems cured. So if in need or even in doubt just give Steve a call. He is a good guy, answered all my questions, and did all the work for a great price.

  2. Had it done a few weeks ago, LPP longtube headers, Magnaflow x pipe with two Black Widow venom mufflers, out to two 3" rolled lip tips. Sounds wicked, louder than I thought it would be, has a slight drone from about 55 mph to 60 mph, but past that its as quiet as the Corsa was at cruising speed, which is exactly what I wanted. Now just to sell the old Corsa.......btw the LPP headers fit like crap, I had to beat the hell out of them with a b.f.h. on the driver side to get them to clear the drive shaft.

  3. Will be installing my LPP headers on the 03 this week or next week, will definitely have them done before the Dallas/FTW Blackbear meet, anyways.......Im going to ditch the Corsa exhaust, (too quiet for my taste) and go to a true dual set up with an x-pipe. My question is, if you guys were going to be doing this, would you go ahead and do 3" all the way out or 2 1/2". Im going to order Black Widow mufflers and cant decide if I should do 3" or 2 1/2". My knowledge of flow and velocity tell me that 2 1/2" should be fine, but in the future the truck is going to be forced induction, probably Procharger. I know with forced induction one needs to be expelling exhaust gasses at a good rate.

On a side note I hope I dont have any major "clearance" issues with the headers, in other words I dont want to have to beat the crap out of them with a b.f.h.

No you did the right test... I am curious what would keep it from going asleep. Sometimes I have seen aftermarket stuff wired into a circuit (with scotch locks... I HATE them) and it back feeds and keeps a module awake....

It does have e-fans swapped in by the first owner, but everything looks well done. I have no idea what brand of kit it is. There are no stickers or marking on it anywhere, and I know they arent a factory swap as they look nothing like the fans on my 07 Classic. The only other thing I found that was wired in was a module for some bed lights under the tonneau cover. I removed all of that, they had spliced a wire in line to the cluster of wires that run up the driver side a pillar. I assume it probably went to the wire for the dome light so they would come on when the door opened? They cut the entire cluster of wires for some damn reason then soldered them all back together. Other than that stuff this truck is all factory.

  5. Hello everyone, I am new to this site and the SS world. I bought a used 03 SS with 117K, victory red in color, that is in immaculate condition other than the sad fact that it is having the battery drain issue from the IPC/DIC circuit. I did my research, and a draw test and found this to be the circuit. Will rebuilding the gauge cluster as most have suggested fix the problem or should I just break down and buy a whole new cluster. The speedo is reading weird anyways so I know I am going to get that fixed. I just dont wanna shell out the coin to have everything rebuilt and LED's installed only to have it not solve the problem. I found a few posts on other forums where some people had the cluster repaired and it fixed it and others that did the same and had the same problem. Ill be using the gm gauge guy if I go that route. What are your opinions on the matter, anyone else who has had this problem feel free to chime in. Thanks guys.
