    Zippy

Is there an email I can reach you zippy? I don't want to be a bother and for some reason I can send you pms Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I figured it out it was pressed in. I also found a machine shop they're gonna take care of it. They've had similar jobs like it before. Should be getting it back by tommorow then rebuild kit goes in. Hoping to have the truck back before the end of this year ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Also how do I remove that bearing that is currently in there? Pressing it or unscrewing the other side? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm trying to figure something out. I brought the half diff to work to have it welded and machined. But a buddy of mine says that it may have to slide in there like that and the pressure of everything tightened up keeps everything in place d the race won't spin. It's pretty decently tight but still spins around and I can take it out easily. After I cleaned it up the space got worse. The tapered roller bearing ring just slides right in and out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yea the guys good he's always hooked my dad up, only issue is what I've come across now. Apparently there's some bearing races that were shot. The rebuild kit brought them but they're not big enough either. I would imagine I can order over sized ones? Anyone have some insight on this? Here are some pics He says it just slides in and out. And then here are the bearings as well, shot! Worse part about all this is im nowhere near the truck so forgive me if I'm not giving enough info, I barely have it myself. I'm caught up with work and take night classes so haven't been able to step in and take a look. Wish I had the time to do it my damn self would of done same, buy another and rebuild this one for when the new one goes bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Dad sent me these. Guess this is what I'm workin with. Says it smells like a portapotty warehouse up in flames lol. Should I even rebuild it or just go with another new one from that website for $950. I plan to keep the truck for a good while and tow with it as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yea that's where I'll start. I have the wiring for the subs setup already and etc. I'm gonna put the double din on and dial it in without all the boom, hoping it sounds good enough to avoid spending more money on audio. If not then I guess WIRE EVERYTHING! Haha. But time is just real tough these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yea I looked through that thread. I've been back and forth emailing pac. The only result I can think of is the amp is blown and it is bypassed, where the bypassing took place I have yet to determine. I also need to check the speakers and see what resistance they are getting. My double din is not in yet so I'll be tackling it then, I'll be focusing on my front diff this week. Boy what a pocket digger this thing is turning into haha, got rid of my cummins cuz of it. But hell there's no escaping it when it's a hobby! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Anyone? I've been searching non stop for this all day. I just don't understand how it works fine in the non amplified connections of the PAC. Starting to think it may have already been bypassed which if it was ill just say screw it and remove the amp and factory subs. But then later on down the road when I decide to upgrade speakers am I at the right ohms?! This is driving me crazy! Had a similar situation with a dodge and the infinity system but found a way to bypass it quite easily since the amps were at the speakers, retained factory speaker wiring but just deleted out the amp. 11. Also on star is not working either if that helps but not positive if it was working before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Doing some more trouble shooting. Amp plugs look well in tact and clean. It's under the cup holder im looking into. Has two wires pulled a bit, but they look to still be making contact. And also was taped up so removed some of the tape to find more tape. I read somewhere about another plug behind the radio that you use a regular harness kit and it completely bypasses the Bose without feeding wires up from under cup holders? Could I have plugged into that one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi, I've searched this all day basically and have found plenty of info but nothing pertaining to my situation. I have a 04 SSS with the Bose. Bought the adaptor harness from pac that's for everything. Wired everything in except swc sense current radio doesn't have them but ddin that's on the way will. Now the pac has two options on the box. Plug in to amplified systems and non amplified systems. Trying to figure sense it is Bose it has to go into the amplified system right? Well when I do I have to basically max out the radio to hear anything which sounds horrible. For now I put it on non amplified and seems to work ok, nothing great. Trying to see if that's the right connection to be in. Or should I just go ahead and bypass everything. I mean chime is working good and I would imagine swc will probably work well too. But I paid $90 for the thing was hoping to avoid headaches. Who knows it may work out great when double din comes in sense the pioneer it currently has is very old. But just trying to clarify things. 14. Lmao I have have 171k !! Transfer case is also new. Looks like we're going down the same path. Coming from someone who had a cummins before this and several other trucks(all chevy of course) I love this truck. And the money it's costing me is not a bother at all. Best of luck to you as well! Ps happy thanksgiving everyone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Found a rebuild kit on rockauto for $150 looking at the ring and pinion just in case that's chewed up as well. But I'm guessing I'll need the 4.11s? Just looking at all my options before I dive into the $800 new diff. Considering if I do take that option im gonna do it myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. $887.50 plus 150 core charge! Not too bad at all. I'll keep it in mind till Tuesday, thanks for the help guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yea but I'm looking at about $1500 there up front. That's outrageous. I'm searching around through wreck yards maybe get one from there and do the bearing kit and swap her in. But they're hard to find. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well I wasn't there so not sure if it was aluminum or steel that's just what he said. But if it has a magnetic drain plug and its spewing out of the fluid I would imagine it's pretty bad. For sure doing a full rebuild. May consider just getting a new one and swapping it myself but time for me is really tough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Found it finally, now just gotta find ring and pinion. It has gt5 code which is 4.10 right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. My dad took the truck to a buddy of his to check it out, he says pure aluminum came out of the diff lol gear oil shake. So yea I'm gonna rebuild the damn thing. Does that rebuild kit bring the ring and pinion as well I haven't been able to find it. What a pain! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Awesome thanks a lot!!! I'll see if I can make time to tackle to myself perhaps . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It also where to get the rebuild kit, if I do happen to find someone to do it. I'm searching for it but coming up empty handed I don't have enough info on my certain diff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey guy, just got my SS! Loving it but. But it has the dreadful front diff whine. Hubs are new and so is the transfer case so I'm left with the front diff bill. My question is can I get a regular 4x4 diff or HAS to be the AWD model one? Where can I get a rebuilt one? Not many shops down here in Miami to my knowledge that I can just drop truck off and they rebuild it so my options are very big. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi do you still have the rims? Interested in the oem one. Where's your location? Email me for quicker response and payment! [email protected] thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
