  1. I just wanted to let everyone know about the ATI Super Dampner. The front main went on the truck, and oil was all over the front end. Took it to Adams Chevrolet here in Have De Grace, MD. Knowing the harmonic balancer had to be removed I went to ATI, which is based just outside of Baltimore, I picked one up and took it to Adams. The truck runs smoother, night and day difference. I bearly notice the engine running(aside from the exhaust). The Super Dampner is a quality piece and it is well worth the money. Even if you have no mods or very light mods like myself is totally recommend it. Once I figure out how to add pics I will.

My truck has 174k and has a Volant CAI, T/A performance rear end girdle, a tune from Precise Performance, cat back exhaust, and a TCI Trans pan.

  2. Edit: Never mind, found it at copart.

You were probably so excited by this Intimidator with the Sears 16" wheel and tire "upgrade"( and leveling kit??), that you got confused. Or maybe it was this redonkulus '03 with the 26" upgradde (double D for double dose of pimpin')

    Where's that SSI????

  3. As an owner of a SSI, and a fan of Dale Earnhardt I chip in the following:

That truck is an homage to the legacy of one of the greatest and most charismatic drivers in the history of the sport. Although not as bespoke as the vehicles Dale Earnhardt had customized for his fan down in his dealership in Newton, NC most notably the last one he commissioned( 2001 Camaro Intimidator SS) the Silverado SS Intimidator was inspired directly by the 2001 Camaro SSI.

His signature in in the cluster is a direct nod to the SS Intimidator Camaro, the script on the side is also such as well as the plaque in the dash.

All in all, every SSI is in my opinion a rolling tribute to the man who earned the nickname "The Intimidator" by his driving style. To take that off at least in my humble opinion is wrong, simply because the whole reason why the SSSI's styling is the way it is, is indeed directly due to the history of the man who's name is on it.

all that said however, it's your truck and it's your right what to do with it, I think we all support you in whatever you choose.

  4. For those that don't know, The SS uses torsion bar front suspension like the 4wd. The regular 2wd trucks use a different front shock. They are not interchangeable.

That auction listed above was for a slight lift of up to 4-6 inches front and 4 in the rear.

This is what you want for a stock ride height vehicle.

I had the 4600 series on a regular 2wd and it stiffened it up a bit in a good way at least for handling. Sometimes a little stiff unloaded but not bad. It felt more solid than the original factory shocks. Over time they wore like any other shock. They still felt decent but to me, they were worn.

My understanding is the 5100 series also carry a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY. The 4600 series do not.

    How long did they last?

  5. RP overnighted the correct tie rods. I went to Adams Chevrolet to have them put on when they were delivered, only to find out they were completely chock full of customers. The intimidator is going first thing tomorrow morning, to have the new ones put on.

A little frustrating, but I am eager to see the results.

  6. I asked RP what part number to order as there want a Silverado SS listed on the site. I was given the wrong number and RP is overnighting the dealership a new set at RPs expense. Great customer service, awesome people over there and at Adams. Here is a copy of the email listing the part numbers for a SSS.

I also checked out your other steering components and it was what I have seen in the past. All of our Extreme Steering components cross over to the 1500 applications except the idler arm. In that case, there is a new HD application available from Moog. Here are the following part numbers to order.

    RP20600 HD MOOG IDLER ARM

RP20608 RARE PARTS EXTREME IDLER ARM

RP20609* RARE PARTS EXTREME PITMAN ARM (3-MASTER KEYS)

RP20610* RARE PARTS EXTREME PITMAN ARM (4-MASTER KEYS)

RP21037 RARE PARTS HD IDLER PIVOT ASSY

*On the pitman arm, you much check your truck to find out whether or not yours has the 3 or 4 master key pitman arm. There are no application guides that show anything different, GM might be able to tell you if you call them with your VIN#.
