    Sold my truck and I have the stock exhaust, it's in great shape. It was basically never used, taken off the truck right after it was purchased. It is the muffler all the way to the tip. I'll hang on to it for another month or so before it hits the dumpster if anyone is interested. Not going to try to ship it, pickup only. I'm in the New Orleans area.     Yes you cant just buy the center part. SAE auto parts on eBay has GM ones for around 40 bucks. That is a bargain..... new from GM list is like 160.

     

    FYI the top pic is an aftermarket one notice it doesnt have the fake hex heads.....

    It doesn't have the fake hex bolts because that's the piece that came off! It's GM, has the same GM markings as the other 3 do

    That doesn't make much sense. There was a one piece center. Maybe you have aftermarket caps. On the back does it have a GM logo? Are your caps chrome or argent silver?

    1st pic is what's missing, looks like the glue wore off. 2nd pic is of one of my other wheels. On the back it had a gm part number so I don't think it's aftermarket.

    Long story but I was told by a lady who answered the phone at Gaylords that it was discontinued, after making a few more calls and emailing someone else at gaylords I found out today that it was not discontinued and still available for order so I'm likely gonna be placing that order tomorrow, quote I got was $1,700 shipped and painted. Nice chunk of change but they look great on the SS

    When I worked at a Dealer between jobs I saw way to many problems from people over oiling their filters. As you know the Volant to be has a more OE look to it. I was able to sell my K&N and help pay for the new one...,.

    The new volant with the scoop is only $280 online right now, i was expecting it to be more. I may just have to grab one soon!

    I swapped out a K&N for the paper (Donaldson) Volant... I HATE oiled filters... my truck came with the K&N on it. I am happy with the Volant but didn't notice any change (seat of the pants dyno and gas mileage) going from one to the other.... heck they even sound the same when you get on it.

    I'm with you, I really don't care for the oiled filter which is why I was considering changing to volant.

    the ram air scoop actually raised my IAT's in the summer. the scoop would pick up heat from the hot road. i ran my volant with no lid to see if it made a difference i wasn't able to see a difference in IAT temps at all.

    Thanks for the response. Where i live there's no escaping the heat during the summer no matter what I do. But, I'm glad to know your experience. I'll probably leave the K&N on, I was just curious to see what everyone else experienced

    Has anyone switched from a k&n CAI to the Volant with the ram air scoop? Considering doing this, I've never been crazy about the oiled filter idea and I have the Volant CAI and power core filter in my Z71 and like it. Not sure if I would see any improvement from switching but just curious if anyone else has. To me the Volant setup just looks better under the hood as well.

    Thanks for the response I was hoping to get, I read somewhere that the center caps came a different color than the wheels because the wheels were powder coated and the caps were painted. I appreciate the response. Thanks again

    I know a lot of people have bought from Norcal, if I remember right I saw somewhere on this site awhile back where it was said that the brand he sells holds up better than the others but I could be wrong.     Nevermind, I just noticed that he only sells chrome ones. I think your best bet is going to be just to rock the ebay ones. I'm surprised they are finally selling them in silver, I kinda want to buy a set now too :jester: .

     

    I messaged him and he only has chrome and black. I don't think the black or chrome would look bad I just prefer the silver. Thanks
