  1. Thanks Blown 346, some people understand that, some don't. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. But when certain commemorative limited edition vehicles are made for one year only, and they become more rare as the numbers decrease, they become more desirable and valuable to some, but maybe not others. Thanks for everyone's opinions here, truck just sold to someone from L.A. who flew in to buy it and drive it back.
  2. ISS is more than a signature on the dash and some badges, Magazine review article on the Intimidator SS: When compared to the "normal" Silverado SS, the Intimidator is more than just a badge package. The Earnhardt edition will have a lowered ride height, a black monochromatic color highlighted with "Intimidator" badge on the tailgate and doors, a racing-inspired tailgate spoiler and a silver grille inset. It will also be set apart from the standard SS with a performance-tuned suspension and a stiffer front stabilizer bar. It will include a lowered ride height, performance suspension, two-stage multi-leaf springs, Tenneco shocks, a stiffer front stabilizer bar and harder front jounce bumpers. It will also be rear wheel drive with a 3.73 locking rear differential. The exterior will feature monochromatic black paint and "Intimidator" badges on the front doors and on the back of the truck. Chrome 20-inch wheels will be standard, along with a silver grille insert and a spoiler on the tailgate. I took peoples advice here and got different opinions. Some said mine looks as clean as ones going for $25k, others think it's worth just bluebook. I found just 3 other ISS trucks for sale in the U.S; In IL there's one for $14k with 181k miles In NC there's one for $24k with 42k miles but heavily modified In CA there's one for $25k with 101k miles on it. With 88k miles I threw mine out there at $24.9k to gauge interest. There's interested people from out of state but I came way down in price and offered it to an interested local SS forum member for $21k but they arent interested in it at that price. Bottom line is if someone wants an SS pickup theres lots to choose from in various price ranges. But if someone wants an ISS they'll pay more for the rarity and special edition of just 933 made. I think coming down to $21k was a fair price considering there's just 3 others for sale in the entire U.S. that have either a higher price and/or higher mileage. I appreciate the input and opinions people had here on the forum. If it sells then someone new has a rare truck. If it doesn't sell, it still looks great parked in my garage and I'll try again in a year or two.....
  3. Thanks for everyone's input, I agree with most everything said here except that it's just a used truck with extra stuff. To some it may be, but it's not like it was a stock truck that the owner just slapped emblems or extra parts on it, it's a one-year-only factory special edition truck where there are very few available today so I think the rarity of being a one year produced Earnhardt edition, and only 933 sold, add to the value. Sorta like the Harley CVO models, only a certain number produced each year with factory modifications, usually draws more $$$. Not to mention the SS Intimidators are pretty bad ass looking trucks.... Like most people said, bottom line is how bad someone wants it and what they are willing to pay. To some it may be worth 15k, maybe someone else $25k. I was just looking for some input on value cause I dont get on the forum much and I'm sure most of you here know your SS stuff. I may advertise it like Blown346 suggested, start a little high with wiggle room and see what happens. Dont have to sell it, it stays garaged and is rarely driven so the 88k miles wont grow very fast. So if I sell it, or have it another year, or end up keeping it, it's all good. Thanks all for your input!
  4. Hi all, I read posts here occasionally but I rarely post, but I've decided to sell my 06 Intimidator SS. I know Kelly bluebook shows one value, but a vehicle that is difficult or rare to find would be worth more I'd think. I cant find any SS Intimidators for sale anywhere doing a google search to judge prices. Anyway mines a genuine Intimidator SS in great shape, some small scratches and paint chips from being 12 yrs old, with only 88k miles on it. Any help in getting a ballpark value on these trucks would be appreciated. I'm in Northern CA. I attached a couple pics but can add more on request Thanks in advance for any replies.
  5. KBB doesn't always show accurate values for vehicles, especially collector vehicles. Curious how the Intimidator SS trucks have held value? Reluctantly thinking of selling my 06 Intimidator SS truck. All stock, California truck, 86k miles, great shape. Has anyone kept track of values for these collector trucks? Rarely see any for sale for hard to gauge the value. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  6. Thanks for the info! I didnt buy it new, bought it used from an auction in 08 and was told it had belonged to a dealership manager. Not sure why he wouldn't have kept all the paperwork together, maybe certificate got lost along the way or misplaced at auction house. Was just curious about number, would have been cool to be number 1 or number 933. They are cool looking trucks though, still gets a lot of looks even at 11 years old. I appreciate the replies.
  7. I have an 06 Silverado SS Intimidator and when I bought it 10 years ago it never came with the certificate showing what number it is out of what Ive read was 933 built. Is the number somewhere in the VIN? Or is there a registry or GM website I can find out by VIN? Better yet, anywhere I can get a reproduction certificate or duplicate? . Sorry if it's a repeat question, I'm new to the forum and havnt had time to browse it much yet. Thanks in advance for any answers!
