  1. I sold it but don't know how to remove the thread.
  2. Hi, I have my 2003 SS for sale. Below is a link to my Auto Trader ad. I am up to 4 vehicles and a boat and I'm busier than before and just can't keep up with it all. I love the truck and hate to sell it but I'm on a mission to thin down. It's in near-immaculate condition.....people still think it is new when they see it. Please contact me anytime if interested or with any questions. I also have copies of the Carfax and Autocheck reports. Thanks, Rob My link
  3. Hi, My temperature gauge has been acting unusual lately in that with each cycle of starting the truck cold and reaching operating temperature, the needle just continues to move clockwise. It's making one complete revolution about every 5 days or so. So the gauge is responding to the change in coolant temperature, but it's completely off. See the picture below....this is where it is today. Could the problem be the temperature sensor on the left side of the engine block.....or perhaps the gauge? Never had this happen before. Thanks for any suggestions. Rob
  4. Thanks! These posts answered my question. I'll go pick me up some Autotrack fluid. Rob
  5. Hi, I'm changing all the fluids in my truck including the transfer case. I'm sure as you know, the owner's manual says to use Dexron III ATF in the AWD transfer cases and the GM Autotrack II fluid in the 4x4 transfer cases. Would it be best to just put the GM oil in the SS? I thought I read somewhere that it is, but I'm not 100% sure. The extra cost of the GM fluid doesn't matter....I just want to do whatever is best for the truck. Thanks, Rob
  6. Cool. Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize the SS's had a higher compression engine!
  7. Hi, I bought an '03 SS recently and noticed that the label sates the need for premium fuel. Although I'm fine filling it with premium, I am curious as to why. Do all GM 6 liter engines require premium, or is there something unique to the SS engine that requires it? Thanks! Rob
  8. Hi, I have an '03 SS with 72k miles and my front end is making the typical gear whine. From all that I've read about the front end of these trucks, I assume that I need a rebuilt differential. I usually work on things myself, but have never rebuilt a diff, so I'm thinking of swapping it for a rebuilt unit. How difficult is the unit to remove and does anyone have a link to the removal process? Thanks, Rob
  9. I live in Manchester, so not too far from you. I'm new to TN.....I had to google Ooltewah. Rob
  10. Hi, I just purchased a 2003 SS a couple of weeks ago. I've always liked the SS and couldn't pass this one up. It's immaculate without a scratch on it. My last truck was an '02 Z71 that I regretted selling, but I'm excited about the SS and look forward to being a part of the forum! Also, does anyone know a good place to order SS embroidered floor mats? Rob
  11. Hi, I just purchased a black '03 SS and I was wondering if anyone knows the GM part number for the touch up paint. Also, do you know if they have touch up paint available for the silver painted wheels? If not, have you guys come across anything that matches up pretty well? Thanks! Rob
