  1. Thanks guys. I knew you all could and would help a fellow SS enthusiast out. Thanks for the part numbers.
  2. Let me start by saying hello everyone. Its been a long time since i have been on here. I tried to search for the part numbers but this is what i am after. I am looking for the part numbers for the steering parts. I have the loose front end with the infamous bumping sound. Also i have the speedo problem. I missed the factory recall on both problems so i am going to have to bite the bullet and spend the money to get it fixed myself. I rarely drive my truck these days but i really need to get it fixed. If anyone can give me the part numbers i would be most grateful. I have an 03 SS.I will continue to look but i sure could use some help. Thanks guys.
  3. Lmao it may not have a hemi but i bet it can beat a hemi!
  4. I tried to line up beside an ss camaro at the track a while back while i was in the srt8 300 but missed him both times. They are sweet azz cars! I love the new look. I do not think the guy could drive because he was turning in some slow times. I am sure he was having traction issues.
  5. I have always wanted to do the hid conversion on my ss also. So what all is included with what you are selling?
  6. I have the 300C srt8 and i have to say the srt8 jeeps are faster. I have a friend with a black one and with just a few mild mods he is in the 12 second range. Nice ride those jeeps are but i still prefer the look of the ss though.
  7. I have had my Class A CDL for almost 20 years now. I do not agree with your employer not paying you to get them and paying for the tests also. I would not go for that at all. As far as getting 4-5 bucks more an hour that is fantasy. You will never get that much. If they would be willing to pay you to go to school to get them and pay for all schools and tests i would go for it. You can never have too much expereince this day and time. Who knows one day you may be forced to make a living driving. Its always good to have something to fall back on. I do not drive these days but i will keep my CDL for as long as they will let me. The test isnt that hard nor is the driving. Over the years we have hired (and fired) alot of class A drivers that paid top dollar for these so called driving schools and not one of them that i have ever had any dealings with actually knew how to drive after they graduated. When someone walked through our doors wanting a driving job holding their certificate with a big grin on their faces i would politely tell them you may as well throw that in the trash. They give them out too easily. Some of the best drivers never went to any school. Get them to pay for it first. Then get your learners and find someone to drive with. That is the best way to learn. Just my two pennies worth!
  8. Yeah the Falcons play the Saints in a couple weeks. That is going to be a good game. Coming up as a kid watching the saints when they were known as the Aints i have to say i am glad to see them doing so good this year. They have always been our arch rivals though. Still got to pull for the Falcons in that game.
  9. Got to go with the Falcons. Made it to a few games last year and it was awesome. Matt is way better than Vick was IMHO.
  10. I use an old Toshiba i bought over a year ago. No problems with it so far. Other than the usual microsoft crap all pc's are forced to endure. I am in the market for a good desktop also. I want one that i can hook to the 37" plasma hd in the bedroom. Also want a wireless keyboard and mouse.
  11. Well sad to say it wont be coming here. We may see an inch of snow a year here in Ga. Just a few cold days and rain.
  12. I have to agree with this. The Cliton and Iran ones are just a couple years away. One out of two wouldnt be bad though.
  13. It looks like it is time to park the water toys. I had a great time this year on the lake and i am already looking forward to next year. My girlfriend playing around on the jetski. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TQ2FarSfto I just love the water proof camera. It came in handy for our trip to Niagara Falls Canada too!
  14. Good luck with your new business venture. I ran the same type demo business for years (about 20) and i enjoyed every minute of it. I have been on equipment and in the seat of dumptrucks since i was old enough to walk. It is a highly competitve and cutthroat business but the one that says what he does and does what he says usually wins out. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can have so keep the customers happy and all will fall into place. In order to make that or any business work you have got to be dedicated and a really good public relations person. It is always kind of scary at first but stick with it and do the jobs as if you were doing the work for yourself and not someone else and you should be just fine. There are a lot of crooked business people out there and the world sure could use more honest ones. Again good luck. Had to edit: i just noticed the color of your truck. You will be fine you picked the best color!
  15. I figured this was something we just had to live with. The guy that works on my stuff for me drives a chevy too and the first time i noticed the clunking i asked him about it. He told me there was no fix for it and all that could be done was to grease it and quiet it down for a while. My steering is now loose feeling. I know i am way out of warranty but i would love to get this problem resolved. Any info would be appreciated guys. Thanks
  16. I would like to get it down to the 11's for sure. What supercharger set up is producing the most hp numbers these days? going to try and sit down one day soon and get a list of what i will do to the engine and see what the est. cost will be. I like to have a game plan to follow. Havent had the truck to the strip in years but the last run i made in it was a 14.3 at 92 or something like that. So i will not take it back to the strip until it is complete. So if i get the hp to make it into the 11's what will i need to do to the rear end to keep it together? What about the front end? Is the awd factory setup sufficient to handle that much power? So if i bore it and a new set of heads will i have to get a custom tune for the supercharger when i get it on? Sorry if i sound so uninformed. I am going to try and do as much of the work as i can but there is no way i could handle the tuning. Wouldnt even know where to start! I can pull the engine and have it bored but i will rebuild it and put it back in as well as put the supercharger on it.
  17. Was this thread moved? I thought for sure i started it in the build section since in essence that is what it will be. I guess the gods that be decided otherwise. Most of the hardcore techies and builders probably dont frequent this board. I guess i will just have to see what happens.
  18. I guess i need to add a few things to my first quote. I have already had the tranny rebuilt and a mild stall put in. Shift kit and better clutches. I do not know for sure what was used because it was a close friend of mine that did the rebuild. I think the tranny is good to go.I have over 100000 miles on the engine so i feel like i need to go in and rebuild it. I dont want to bolt on a supercharger and then have to go in and rebuild it a short time later. Since i feel i need to rebuild then that opens up a whole new set of questions. Would you guys bore and stroke and then charge it? I do not want to go by way of the bottle. I am leaning toward forced induction. If you guys can get me headed in the right direction i will provide a detailed build with before and after 1/4 mile runs. I have plenty of time to work on this truck and i will be able to spend a good bit of money on it. The race fever had kind of settled down but i took my 300 srt8 to the strip a couple weeks ago and it lit a new fire. I love the awd of this truck and know you can make lots of power without traction problems like with my srt8. That plus i think a fast truck is WAY cooler than a fast car!
  19. Hey guys. How has it been going? Its been a while since i have been on this board. I have been relatively busy as of late. I am looking to do some work on my 03 ss soon. Right now it is still fairly stock. I want to build it wild but still have some driveability. Since i have been out of the loop for so long what is the leading edge stuff these days? Help me make a decision on what i should do.
  20. OK guys i have made up my mind. I am going with the 408 stroker build. I thank everyone for their input but i ask another favor from you.I want to get up a list of the components i will need. Including everything, like tune and where are some of the best out there. Cam, heads if needed. what brand of forged crank and pistons, Injectors i need, fuel pump. I know i have looked out there on the net and there is so much to choose from. I wouldnt even know where to start. Every site you look at says theirs are the best. I want some real world data. I am going to find out from the machine shop tomorrow what the machine work will cost. After that i need to get the list of everything i am going to need. I want to get some kind of cost estimate before hand so i know what to expect.I know there will be things here and there that you cant plan for since this nissan 4x4 i just got through with (almost) i made alot of calls to summit and trips to the parts store. I want to do this pricing two ways. I want to price going with a mild build and then a wild build. I am still up in the air as to which way i am going with this. I know i want it to be bad azz. I cant get all the parts at once seeing as i can only spend about 2 grand a month on it but if i nail down what i need and the cost of each part as i get ready i can order what is needed next to finish the build. Help me out guys. Thanks
  21. I have had some exp. in building engines though nothing like what i want to do here. I want to build though. I have a friend that has built some serious rides before and i will get some help from him. The build he will help with but trying to figure out what works in this truck i will try to iron that out myself. Everything that he builds is older cars and trucks like the old camaros or novas. He works at a local machine shop here. I hope that can get me a break in the price when the time comes to get started. So if i wanted to go with the 408 build i would have to get the block ??? Sorry guys i hope i dont come across as being dumb here. I was going to just supercharge the 6.0 that is in it but it has a little over 100000 miles so i want to build. What is the most cubic inch you can put in front of the tranny. I know there is a problem with the all wheel drive and that limits what can be done. I think.
  22. 408 build????? please give me more info. I like the way that sounds I wish i had more time to research but i have enough time to pop in check my messages and leave. I will make time to research the info i get before i start. What kind of numbers do you get out of a 408 build???? thanks everyone.
  23. well i should say this. i am looking to go n/a with this truck. I want to build it without forced induction or nitrous but i may want to add a super charger later on. Right now my plan is to go without either. As far as the number i am looking for, well lets just say i would like to get the most out of it as possible. I want the truck to go as good as the ss looks. I have a friend that has a srt 10 ram and i want to give him a run for his money. I havent seen him run yet but i know he is quicker than the ss. I can probably take him with the crhysler 300 srt 8 but i havent even taken it to the track yet. I have always had high hopes for the ss and when i got the 300 i thought that would cure the need for speed but every time i look at the ss i get that warm fuzzy feeling I am sure you guys know what i am talking aboiut.
  24. ok here goes folks. I know that this question has been asked but seeing as i am a little short on time right now i figured i would get some feed back straight from you guys. I am ready to start on my truck now. I am just getting finished with my 86 nissan off road truck (well i still have to get the exhaust and tires and rims but that shouldnt take long... oh and paint it) and am looking forward to getting on with my SS. My question to you guys is this. If i want to build the stock engine i have in the truck what kind of numbers could i expect to get from it? I want this truck to be bad AZZ when i get through and it is not going to be an everyday driver. I want to do this myself so i am going to need a lot of help from you guys if you would. Someone ring in and tell me what i could expect out of the stock 6.0. If i cant get the numbers i am looking for from it then i want to go with a different engine.I really think i would rather build instead of swap. It doesnt matter if i have to bore it to get it like i want. Have any of you done this to your truck?? It will be atleast another month before i get started on it so i have a little bit of time to plan what i need to do. I hope to do some research on this site and a few others soon and since this is the best group of folks on the net i thought i would start here. I have already built the tranny to handle more power but if it doesnt hold up i will upgrade it later on. Thanks everyone.
