  5. To answer your question, yes, a police officer, a competent one, can clock your vehicle, even if you were two car lengths behind him. If he knows how to testify in court, and is credible, which all cops are, until they scew up in court, you should lose your case regarding the speeding. Also the fact that you admitted to the cop and all of us that you were in fact speeding, doesn't help your case at all. I'm not taking sides, but I think that you have a problem with the cop, not the allegation. I don't see how he can say that you were doing between 80-90 MPH. But the fact of the matter is that all he has to do is prove that you were over the speed limit and that his cruiser was properly calibrated during the time of the clock. I will say this, court is not the appropriate forum to complain about the officer's attitude. That problem must be brought to the attention of the officer's superior. In other words, go to his police department and speak to his supervisor. You might be surprised. He probably has done this before, and the bosses already know about his bad attitude. In court, if it were run correctly, they should not entertain complaints of bad conduct, they should only address violations of the law. Hope this helps you out.
