  1. No........The early Generation I Lightnings' had 240 hp at the crank. Unless they were heavily modified, they are not even close to the SSS or the S/C Generation II Lightnings'. Kind of like the early Chevy 454 SS compared to the new and improved SSS.

    BTW nice ride Show Time.

  2. Hey Fast05SS just go by Jesse's on old 83 there in San Juan and ask for Rigo the owner. He's got good service and a real good welder there by

the name of Chuy and they'll fabricate a good custom exhaust for you. You won't get a better price unless you shop his brother's place 3 Star

Muffler in Mission. Ask for Juan and don't speak to Santiago because he's an azz and will stick it to you $$$$$ wise. BTW don't let them take

off your convertors unless you've got a hook up at an inspection station.

  3. They sell more because of their rep. People come back because they think their yota will last forever but their quality of work has dropped but people don't know it.

It's GM's fault they will be #2 in the world now. Stupid management doesn't know what they're doing. They over price all their vehicles and sell less and offer no more than Ford or Dodge. Chevy needs to step up to the plate. It's a sad day but we all knew it was coming.

Exactly! How else could you explan dropping the Camaro/Firebird in favor of an SSR and now having to play catchup to Ford's Mustang. GM's management bites. :shakehead:

  4. If you have a drink or two and get behind the wheel I would not recommend tinting the tails. Here in Hidalgo Co. the cops will use it as probable cause to stop you and lo and behold if you've been drinking.... You know what I mean. Not worth the attention it'll draw at least not in my neck of the woods. :seeya:

Doesn't help that the county leads TX in # of DUI's.

  5. That truck would be a day late and a dollar short to get into a dance thats already over. The L, SRT10, etc...all dead. The only sport trucks surviving are functional usable AWD SUV's like the jeep SRT8 and TBSS (not even real trucks). The only way that would be remotely successful is if it had a good tow rating, 4x4/AWD options, and extended cab options. I think one of the biggest issues with consumers with the SRT10 was just how useless it was because all it was is a go fast machine. Many go fast machines that are a lot less expensive out there than that. Seriously, how many of you would honestly buy one if it was 2WD and couldnt tow anything? Not many and here is why...if you could swing it as a toy, which it most likely would be, why wouldnt you just buy a corvette, CTSV, mustang cobra, used viper? All of which would cost about the same as that truck and be significantly faster.

  6. Here in TX they're also introducing points systems for violations and accidents. People will be paying a surcharge to have a DL. I've heard of 2 persons getting arrested because they had paid their fine but they were not aware of the surcharge and thus a warrant was issued for their arrest. So my advice is put a leash on that puppy or use a V-1 and a digital scanner.

  7. i got my my hinges today and installed my lid it looks great but i have i got a couple of questions first when you open the lid with the remote is it suppose to open or just unlock it second i did not remove my tailgate cap but i got a gap between the tailgate and the lid is this normal

I believe the remote only unlocks the cover unless you put on some linear actuators like I have lying around somewhere.

  8. Go with the AC OE spark plugs and wire set. Use only AC or Wix air and fuel filters. Check your tire pressures to make sure they are around 35lbs or so. Finally don't haul around big gorillas like myself. :jester:
