you have a PN for this?
-
Whoa, that's crazy. Altitude went up because a low pressure front moved in with those showers, making it act more like Denver than Los Angeles? Wouldn't have expected that high of a number as the track is only 603' above sea level. Cool info!
-
hey guys, thanks for the invite, Kdubbs thanks for letting me know about this meet. Next time I'll have to run with you guys, just wanted to get this 72" driveshaft high speed balanced too. Not sure what the wife would do if I called her a 2nd time to ask her to come pick me up because my driveshaft puked again!
-
Guys, thanks for the replies.
Bruton - Any pics/color on the seats? Shoot me a PM of what you're looking to get.
Mung - Albany, NY. Bit of a treck from you it looks like. I figured I would have to do some cusom wiring, I'm all manual right now. I don't need the memory stuff, I just want to be able to work the seat controls. I figured 12V to the right spots and it would be good.
Bad & Smoke, I have noticed that my seats do not have the level of side bolstering that the SS seats seem to have. Most of the SS seats have the little arm rests too, right? Mine doesn't have that, don't need it, but that just seems to confirm the seats I have are more different than just a covering, right? I guess that's what I'm assuming.
-
OK, I threw mine up there, if you need a full size of any of them just give me a shout.
-
I wanna run this time and race you guys! Anyone have a common folder we can upload to, I know I don't have the space on a page. We could start an almulm somewhere and just create a common login/pwd and just get it via PM, that way there is one common place to store and look at all of em.
Exposure is off on this one, but you can blow it up a decent size (I need a new camera)
-
Guys, if you see a set of leather SS seats for sale or have some, let me know as I'd like to make the swap before next spring.
Thanks,
Andrew

Two questions, Creed (or anyone else coming from north of Albany), do you think it's faster to take 90 past rt 20/9 to get to New Lebanon an then cut north on 22 near the border, or just take the 20/9 exit (11E) and go along on that one?
2nd, they have "crew parking" right? Where you go through the entry gate where they load the racers and park closer to the pits right, not right behind the grandstands?
I can bring my large snell approved helmet if anyone needs one (does have some scratches on it where it was dragged on the ground, not sure if that matters to safety techs).

Yeah, with my 72" long driveshaft I'm not sure I'm gonna run, already had that grenade on my while on the dyno, taking out my tranny. But that's a story for when I meet all you guys.
-
Yeah, I'm still coming too with a cooler full of beer! RCLB SS Powerplant. Albany, NY
-
I'll have a cooler full of beer/pop that we didn't get to finishing last weekend.
-
I'm in. I'm coming from the albany area so will be able to be there early with the rest of you. Not sure I'll run, but will defenitely hang out.
-
I'm in and coming from Albany if anybody is coming from up north and needs a lead.
-
hey guys. Not an SS, but almost there engine wise (minus 0.5 in CR). Went to LVD last night and LOVED it. Didn't race though as I'm a little gun shy since my driveshaft went out on the dyno last year. I would definitely come up to watch and might race if i can get a loop installed in time. Any info on additional cost to run with you guys, or is it just the usual cost (20-30) and it's just an added bonus of having our own lane?
-
Yeah, I started with this cover, so had to sand and fill it in to get a smooth surface to recess the 6.0 into.
-
What I did was take some 320 sandpaper and sanded it down as smooth as seemed reasonable. Cleaned that off real well and then used the adhesion promoter that was mentioned above. then used 2 coats of filler primer. then I did 3 or 4 coats of color, wetsandint in between each one to smooth and part that I missed when I originally did the cover. The last color coat I didn't touch. Then 2 coats of clear wetsanding that last clear after 2 days and polishing. For my first attempt I think it came out pretty damn good.
-
I hope it works out for you. If you need any help with the install just ask
So what all do you need to do to get the seats wired up properly? Use the fuseblock for the power seats and get 12V to underneath the seats?
-
guys, bringing this one back from the grave. Have any of you noticed that the leather seats seem a lot more plush vs teh cloth seats? I have cloth is my 01 silverado and just drove my dad's 04. His seats seemed so much softer and much more plush and still has better side support. My truck is an ls, but I can't think they would put a different seat in a LS vs LT style truck? I would love to get the SS seats in my truck after sitting in those!!

You can find the programming options for the horn/lights in the DIC when you're in the user options. There are programmable options for lights/horn during lock and during unlock (seperately).
Duh, forgot about that. that was it.
-
guys, long time lurker and my dad finally gave me a reason to post. my dad just got a "new" 2004 Silverado SS. Here is his question, defenitely not my area of expertice.
The remote zapper on the truck behaves backward from what it's supposed to. When you lock it, it's supposed to chirp the horn if you press the lock button twice to confirm locking. It doesn't do that. When you unlock it, it unlocks the driver door if you press it once, and unlocks both doors if you press it twice. However, it also chirps the horn when you press unlock twice, and the manual says nothing about that. Seems like the two press functions are reversed. I know on your brothers Lancer it is programmable but I can't find anything like that for GM Truck keyless remotes.
Any ideas?

Welcome. I'm a first timer here too. Grandparents used to live in Independence. Gotta tell ya, it's much more relaxed in Iowa!

Driveshaft loops are a must, especially if you've taken off the speed limiter guys.
I'm another example of that one. I'm in the process of finding a place, maybe even the OEM, Dana, that will high speed balance this thing. Really a problem with the long (65") one piece shafts, shaft hits a critical speed and pukes itself. Haven't seen the problem on the 2 piece steel ones since the critical speed (where they resonate and bust free) is so much higher because the shafts are so much shorter.
