Looks like the eBay rail you bought is from an 8.1l truck engine with 32# injectors. Looks like you will need marine injectors if you want plug and play. The rail also came from a latter truck with returnless fuel rail. Might be better if to look for an early truck rail, or a marine rail Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

That's what towed your wife's SSS to Houston. Ask Joe about it. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

Yes. I've done it with good success. On e85 I lean out the fuel side a bit Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

Go from aftermarket back to stock 6 CD? (Bose truck)
chpspecial replied to someotherguy's topic in Radio/Electronics/Security
you need this https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-1-8-stereo-panel-mount-phone-jack?variant=20332184005 adapter form radio shack, it has 5 pins to solder in. You then need to cut the three audio wires coming from the xm module. when an aux cable is plugged in, the xm feed will be cut out and your aux comes in, when you pull the aux cord out, the xm reconnects and you have XM again. -
2003 SSS Fuel Pressure Spec
chpspecial replied to Stickman03SS's topic in Engine Tech And Modification
while your pressures are a little low, they are also with in spec. Have you calibrated your gauge to verify that its reading correctly??? I don't know if the dealer will perform the Crank Relearn Procedure, but it can be done by anyone with descent scanning software/hardware. I.E. EfIlive, HPtuners, Snap on solaris, Tech 2 and so on. it only takes a few minutes to complete. Id start there. -
2003 SSS Fuel Pressure Spec
chpspecial replied to Stickman03SS's topic in Engine Tech And Modification
Base fuel pressure should be 58psi. You have a vacuum referenced fpr. So your final FP will be 58-vacuum. It sounds like you have normal operation. Has a cam position relearn completes on the truck after the engine install. It's important once a cam or engine is installed. Symptoms are just as describes. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk -
Coming along real good. Your wife will sure enjoy it. BTW I'm Rey, I helped Joe drop the truck off Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

12.5 to 12.8 is a good target on good gas. Watch for lean kr. If you start to see it. Richen it up a bit. Also make sure your commanded and actual AFR match. If they don't. You need more tuning than just looking for a value on a wideband. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

Idle airflow. That's a big cam, you need big changes Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk -
I have had good success with it. I also run it in my 8.1l truck. Even in n\a form it's a good difference. But there won't be much of a savings with the worse mileage. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

Aftermarket vs GM MAF Sensor - Any Real Change?
chpspecial replied to psualumni's topic in Bolt On Performance
On gen 3 pcm, you reach the hard limit of the pcm before you can max out the sensor. Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk- 6 replies

What's your favorite SS Model Year?
chpspecial replied to Silverado_George's topic in Off-Topic/General
The 03-05.5 had a unique grill to the sss where the 05.5+ had the same grill as any other silverado. And the dic had more features like instantaneous fuel economy. Plus nicer door panels. The seats also had the two way lumbar support Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk -
gi.ss you have a lot of miss information on your post. the 411 pcm is actually smaller (memory wise) than the 03-07c pcm. they are all available to run up to a 3bar o.s. from factory they cannot, they need a custom OS from either hpt or efilive. as for 3 bar map sensors, the DMAX sensor is a plug and play just like the cobalt 2bar sensor. The dmax sensor is actually a 3.3bar. the ls9/a is also a good one, but twice as expensive due to the corvette tax, and requires a change in wiring. Also, an 06 OS will not work on a 03-05 pcm... unless you are willing to swap the TAC module and throttle pedal.
-
No, the 05 truck has a different TAC and pedal assembly. The 05 os will not work on your 06 truck unless you use the 05 TAC/peddal assembly.

I have had efi on all systems after xp and haven't had a single issue. My current tuning laptop is á Windows 8.1, with 8gb ram, a 250gb SSD hdd to run the programs and a 750gb traditional hdd for storing info. Powered by an i7 processor. Try uninstalling the usb drivers and reinstalling them Also see if unplugging the v1 cable fixes the issue. I know there is a roll back driver for the usb drivers for older Windows systems

This plug that connects to the 4l60e or 4l80e has the pins. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk

This engine is about 6" wider and 3-4" inches taller than a traditional headed ls motor. So for gm spacing and underhood clearance is also a big concern Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk

I'll post a pic later tonight. The trans connector at the case, the round one, has the same style pins. If you have a spare trams harness you can get them from there. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk

I have a few wire leads with pins. I don't have part numbers. Are you in the states? If so I can ship you some. Just cover shipping Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk

I like it so far. As long as you get the proper offset, which is easy and you can get it from a dmax tune. I hadn't realized you had an ls3 style sensor, but for those of us on a stock style manifold or Tbss. The dmax sensor needs no modification. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
-
No they can not. They can only program by vin number, and will not write a calibration for the pcm with the vin number from a different truck. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk

The duramax map sensor is physically the same as our stock sensor. 12215049 and its a 3.3 bar map. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk

Do you have the part number for the 3 bar map sensor. One from a dmax works very well Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
