Truck is on number 4 Tranny but i've only blown one of them myself ..........so far
last one lasted about 15k miles on truck now 18k
gonna go the 4l80 route next time
-
we have a rule of thumb with our fleet at work:
in the tread, plug the tire
in the groove, patch the tire
at or near the side wall, replace the tire
if the tire is a piece of crap to start with, replace the tire(s)
GOOD ADVICE Fireman31
if its the tirewall or near the tirewall .....whats cheaper new tire or repairing the truck after a wreck coz the tire failed, tires and shocks are 2 of ther most important parts of the truck they affect handling and braking
-
Well they must have improved i bought and got them on last week and wow what a difference, lots of grip great on the bends and a great looking tread pattern asyemetrical not sure what it means exactly but i can rotate them unlike to directionals i had on my last truck so hopefully better tire wear not cheap mind list price was $2400 for 4 but i haggled down to $1200 fitted balanced and new valves so not too bad

sorry to hear of yer trans probs Chase i know how it feels my truck is now on it's 4th ( but i've only blown one of them) just had it fixed at a of cost $1800 and its suposed to be stronger than before, but i'm thinking of going the 80e route anyone got any prices of trans and kits and whats involved to fit and keep the awd i'd rather get it all so when/if it blows again i can get it fixed quick the truck was off the road for 2 weeks last time and it sucked big time not being able to use it..

for the last month whiles its been in the shop gettingthe transmission rebuilt i' was getting tired of it, but collected it yesterday and i'm back in love and enjoying every minute again
-
Thanks Guys, good to hear you missed me lol....
and happy that nothing changes eh lol.. where would we be without 26dubs eh lol
-
Hi Guys
sorry i've not been on much lately, been real busy at work and saving hard to repair my transmission, i managed to mess it up, but it's all repaired and better than ever, i think the 4 wheel burnout beside a ferrari was the reason it failed, still it upset the ferarri owner lol he appeared quite surprised that a big black truck was leaving him at the lights lol, i've got the parts that broke so i'll post pics when i get a chance to.
so what have i missed?? have you missed me???
all the best

Please don't do that again my wife made me go shopping today

All i can offer is Moral support Josh, and you can have as much as you need... and you have my best wishes for a Speedy repair job on your SS, i am so glad you and your wife wern't hurt badly in the accidents, they could have been so much worse, cars and trucks no matter how special can be replaced but people can't.
I Hope everything goes well with the insurance and you get fixed up pretty quickly, i know i'd be lost without my SS I get withdrawal symtoms if i don't use it every day.
All the Best Josh

I wish I was there nice pics Did you race just chevy and fords or could you race an uk brand trucks .
There was everything racing UK American Japs Eurocars....but the American cars n trucks were most consistant, a £70k $140 Porche only managerd a high 15, i was trying to get lined up against him but we only had a morning of racing as rain stopped play (worst part about the UK this time of year weather is so unpredictable)... anyways a buddy sent me some video of my truck..
check these out
the first is me against my buddy Doug in his 1977-78 Pontiac Firebired 6.6 liter
