  1. Any way we could get a group buy going on these? I'm ready to purchase myself as well.
  2. the 1 7/8 w/o cats was $1170 on the PT.net group buy I believe.
  3. Were you at Brent's GTG, I recall someone mentioning something about a muffler shop. I've been thinking lately that I would like to have a custom x pipe'd exhaust made for my truck
  4. Also, those heads you have listed above are the ones I probably should have gotten. Livernois is the only shop that has a 220cc program for the LS6 heads. They flow the same with a smaller intake port which is a good thing,.
  5. The power is made in the heads so they say. Instead of spending $2000+ on some decent heads and a cam, personally I'd spend $2000+ on some really good heads and keep your current 218/224 cam. Like I mentioned above though....since you've already got the electric TB and returnless fuel system I'd go ahead and get some ported L92 heads and along with the L92 intake and 90mm TB. What are the details on your torque converter? I know you mentioned it was a 2800. Michael
  6. This is interesting. We may have gone over this already, but why no mention of anything over 2800 stall when the most popular stall speed from other major manufacturers seems to be 3200?
  7. You should do the L92 heads....it would be easier than it would have been on mine considering you've already got the electric tb and returnless fuel system. It gives you more potential than the cathedral heads. Texas speed has stage ported L92s for like $1200 which is pretty good. Michael
  8. Well, I'd just like to start out by thanking everyone again.....especially Brent for allowing my truck to sit and be worked on in his garage and Zippy for doing great work . Zippy is a true professional and I don't feel like I could have had anyone better working on my car anywhere. Also thanks to the miscellaneous other people who helped (can't remember names!). The truck drove home beautifully and just flat out goes on the highway with the slightest throttle input, and goes up any hill effortlessly. Also, my gas mileage went back to what it should be thankfully. I always hand calculate my gas mileage so I have a good idea of what it gets. The tuned stock 6.0 and 3.42s would get over 23 on the highway. However, on the way here with 4.10s I only got 14 mpg. I think that exhaust leak at the head was wreaking havoc on my 02 sensor. On the way home I got 20mpg, even with a couple bursts up past 100. I'm very happy with that. Hopefully we can do this again sometime. Michael
  9. Just thought I'd try this.....I've got an OEM 8.6 3.42 ring and pinion I'm trying to sell, so if anyone that's going to be at the GTG is interested I can bring it with me. Asking $100 obo. Here's a link for pictures: http://performancetrucks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=435558 Michael
  10. I would like to ask Zippy to tune my truck live. Do you know if he has a wideband sensor or if there will be one there? Thank you. Also, do you know if Zippy uses HP tuners or EFI live? Michael
  11. how often do you guys have these meets? Any chance of another one this year?
  12. You should take a look at this thread, i think it will help: http://performancetrucks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=434934 That definitely sealed the deal for me on the 10.5" 3000 3 disk
  13. which brand? I'm looking at the PI 9.5 or 10.5 triple disk and Danny (Danny tranny) also advised me to consider the TCS converter (although I can find very little info/reviews on them by searching the boards.). My decision is also complexed by the fact that a 4l80e swap is more of a reality than putting in a built 4l60e due to cost.
  14. Are there going to be any stalled trucks at this meet? I've never been in a stalled vehicle before, which is making my decision on which route to take very difficult. Thanks.
  15. Yes, I believe that is me. I was planning on doing a cam as well, but I decided to back off on that. So as of now it will just be a head swap. Still need to iron out what to do about the transmission (4l60e? 4l80e?, by who, what converter, etc). I'm curious, would you happen to have a spring install tool? My heads were not assembled when I received them, all I've done so far is hammer on the valve seals. The springs still need to be put on. Thanks Michael
  16. Hi all, if there is inclement weather, will there be a garage to work in? I'm hoping Zippy can help me get a set heads on. Thanks! Michael
  17. Hi everyone, I got a call earlier tonight from Zippy, he was telling me about this meetup. I was thinking about stopping by, of course if no one minds! Michael
  18. I'm fed up with these headers, they just aren't compatible with my frame (2000). The power gains on my 6.0 were incredible with these though. Shame they don't work :bang: These headers are no longer pretty. I hammered on one of the passenger side primaries to help it clear my frame. Of course they're discolored but that's to be expected. I lost one of the bolts to collect the collector to Y pipe. And one the screws in the collector somehow got stripped near the end so it requires a couple washers to be used, no big deal. The band clamps came to me from OBX banged up so they weren't much good in sealing. Sorry I don't have a lot of posts here, I signed up but I usually post over on PT.net. Thanks!
  19. Are those standard MSD wires? They look so long?
  20. I ran my OBX LT no cats into a cutout before the muffler and honestly it wasn't that much louder, if at all, than my stock exhaust with the cutout.
  21. I would reuse the stock MLS gasket over anything aftermarket.
  22. I will also consider just getting the Dynatech catted Y pipe by itself, it should bolt right up to my OBX headers. Thanks!
  23. I setup up my truck without cats and don't want the smell so I'm looking for the dynatech headers with Y pipe that has cats in it. Preferably I'm looking at the newer Dynatech system that doesn't have the hump on the driver's side. Thanks!
