  1.

Oh my bad - I thought you had a 440 in there. I would find a set of 6.xx rear gears just for a lark to get a pic of the thing carrying the front tires through the lights!

I can see their point of removing all the 'loose parts' inside the coach, but beyond that... WTF? :shakehead:

    Mr. P. :)

Just a wee small block I tell ya!!

    motorhome360in.jpg

And after I got my tech refunded my idiotic buddies started circulating this photoshopped pic just to try to get me deeper into trouble!!!

    launchinsmokeyeah.jpg

  2. NO! I mean really, if they allow jet cars and old school busses on the track, then what could they possibly have against the Winnie?!

    Mr. P. :)

OHHHH Wait - I get it, they want you to put a rollcage in the motorhome! :jester:

    WORSE!

Rumors run around of course, and the first attempt to get through tech left me with two tech guys crawling around giving me a "list" of sorts- I had to pull the propane tanks, empty my water systems, remove my drawers, fasten the oven door shut etc etc etc.

So I did it, all of it.

I went back to tech, they let me buy a tech card, then someone from the tower comes running down telling me I can't buy a tech card because I won't be allowed to run. It was a Friday Night Street Drags. After some back and forth bickering the top tech guy comes over and tells me I can't run tonight, and a few excuses later he seems to stick to "You'll tear up the starting pad".

    LOL!!!!!!!!!

I tell him it couldn't possibly spin, it's a dually rear, and it's only 360 cubes!! They wouldn't let me run, and refunded my money.

I then heard through friends some of the tech guys thought I was a lot faster than I was "claiming". IT'S A MOTORHOME!! If I got 17s I would be rolling around laughing, I guess rumors were going around and getting my motorhome faster and faster in imaginaryland.

I went back again with a buddy who knows the guys who run the track. Bought my tech card, pulled up to tech, the guy in my lane wouldn't tech it, the second guy comes over and starts more or less telling us he doesn't think I'll be able to run, as the first tech guy heads up to the tower.

Ron Farmer comes down, tells me I had "better not of bought a tech card".... lol and tells me I can't run.

We ask WHY??? He tells us..... "One of the tech guys watched you pull the wheels and it's too dangerous, you need to use something to limit the front end travel before you'll be allowed to try to pass tech."

I then tell him I have BUNNY HOPPED my motorhome, and though it will pull the front end up very high, it's not an actual "wheelie", I have to bounce it to get the nose up.

He shakes his head and says "Nope, the tech SAW YOU."

LOL It does NOT "wheelie", but the front will bounce sky high, which is what he must have seen.

He told me if I had a device to limit front end travel I could run. We stared at Farmer, stared at each other and I asked him "Are you telling me I need wheelie bars on my MOTORHOME??!"

    He said Yup!.

    Silly as heck.

I've since had back and forth emails with Farmer and he said I could run it at the Truck Drags, which I might do.

It won't pull the wheels from a standing start, and if it did it wouldn't be very high or for more than a foot or two, and it won't be fast. Might beat a few ricers, but it won't be running down any V8 cars or trucks!

  3. Well you shoulda been driving the motor home! hahaha

Seriously that's pretty good especially if the L! had upgraded to the KB blower.

    Mr. P. :)

I have no idea what was done to the truck to be honest, but it couldn't have been stock, the blower whine was loud. Maybe a loud gear drive, but it sure sounded like blower whine to me.

I gotta go lose some more races! LOL!!! Bastards!

I haven't been to the track yet, I've got people guessing all over the map, it will be interesting for sure. I have 3.08 gears out back so my 60 foot times might be closer to one minute than what you guys all do!

I have a 440 Charger now too I'm gonna redo a bit and beat on at the track, hope to get it and the Jensen a few timeslips this summer.

Don't know if I posted before but I took my motorhome out to Mission TWICE, and both times they refunded my money and wouldn't let me run!!!!!

  4. :seeya:

Well..... I was out toolin in my Jensen.... and I hear a loud blower whine. I look around and I see a Ford Lightning pull behind me. I can hear his blower whine over my exhaust, it was bloody loud!

He almost turns right, but at the last second gets behind me in the left turn lane, so I figured he wanted to run.

We turn left, he gets beside me, and from about a 20 mph roll we hit it. I hit it slightly before he did, probably got a fender on him, pulled a little bit but then he started to pull me, we got up to about 80mph and my bumper was on his 1/4 panel.

Pretty danged quick truck I think, though I've never timed my Jensen it seemed to pull pretty hard.

    Danged Ford surprised me!!!!!!!!

  5. he then procede to stick his middle finger out the window, ....... Anyone else have any expierences like mine lately?

    YUP!!!!!!!!!

I had some asshat in a grey Dodge Clubcab do the exact same thing to me while I was in my work van.

He pulled into the far right turning lane so I let the kid in when we got across the intersection, being nice and all... then about 1/2 mile later he starts trying to tailgate the guy beside me, and 1/2 mile after that he swerves towards me thinking I'll slam on the brakes or something so he could get by... but I was IN MY WORK TRUCK. I just laughed at him while he's thinking he is all cool, then he fingers me, so I stick up my pointer finger and give it a twirl, as in "whoop-dee-doo"....

Complete butt clown. If he stopped at the light I coulda let him know how cool he was, but oddly he ran the red light and was never to be seen again....

    Probably 18 years old....

  6. It depends on the individual cars IMO obviously.....

We have a solid 12 second Skyline at our track, it's pretty impressive.

We have a few low 12 second SRT4s. The modified SRT4 cars are pretty crazy.

Most stock SRT4s are 13.9 to low 14s here (Mission Raceways)

I've seen guys who have bragged about 12 second imports time after time and they come out to our Friday Night Street Drags and they run consistent 16-17 second 1/4 mile times.... many guys who have never been at a track have strange views of what they will run. One night at the track and they gain a whole new perspective....

We have a Datsun 240Z that runs in the 11s regularly here, it's the most impressive import that runs regularly here, for me at least...

My Jensen will be in the import class when I take it, not domestic. LOL I'm sure my buddies will all be laughing at me!

  7. idk my fastest run pre headers was 14.3 in the quarter

    Pretty danged quick!

My buddy's ram is probably a high 14 / low 15 second truck from my seat of the pants calculator....

Are those new rams supposed to be low 14s or something? I saw two guys claim high 13s on a MoPar forum, but that's pretty quick for a stock truck I figured.... maybe a downhill track or something.....?

  8. if i had my stock manifolds on i would have eatin him alive from the start. but with the new headers he had me worried at the beginning. i got a wheatley tune, full exhaust, intake, and 160 stat. thats it

Surprising to me, my buddy's truck is fairly quick and we were driven away from. I would think 5-6 lengths pretty easily, and we didn't go 1/4 mile. It's the first time I've seen a brand new ram actually floor it.

I don't know how quick my buddy's truck is, but it feels decent..... It's a quad cab 5.7 with some kind of fairly loud exhaust.

  9. I know it's been asked before but we never got an answer...what/ where did you find an AWD chassis dyno?

I just re-read the original post and can't believe my eyes!

THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY horsepower on a chassis dyno?!?!?!?!

That ain't stock by a long shot!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. I don't know what is done to your truck but we raced a new one when I was in a buddy's 2006 Hemi Ram quadcab and it beat us pretty soundly, my buddy was surprised, he thought it would be pretty even- his truck is stock except he messed with his exhaust, the other truck looked stock to me...

  11. I think the newer WRX's run faster than the last gen STi's. Hell the new STi's run low 13's stock, I think the new WRX's run mid to high 13's stock. Dont know if he was modded, didn't look like it, but damn that AWD is a mother off the line. I think i would have done better on a roll.

At our track most WRXs I have seen (non-sti) run low 14s with some high 13s, but not many.

We have quite a few mid to low 13 stis, and some modded cars are pretty quick.

Am I the only guy who cannot stand the sound of the flattie Subarus? I plug my ears when they go by, worst sounding car I can think of! Quick, but the sound..... :nonod:

  12. From what ive been reading, the gearing is what really makes or breaks the new dodges. Unless they are equipped with the 3.92 rear end, they aren't any faster than the 3rd gen hemis. I think stock for stock, with the 3.92 gears, they are pretty much even with us Tundra guys. Ive seen identical times/trap speeds for both trucks. The Tundra double cab and the ram equivalent but run about 14.6-14.8 @ 96 mph bone stock.

As for the new Ram R/T, there are a few guys who hit 13.7 stock in almost perfect DA. I think the best a stock RCSB tundra has done a 13.9, but not sure what the DA was on that run. Could have been faster in better DA. Still pretty fast for no mods.

I've actually seen a few guys claiming high 13 second slips for the new Ram R/T trucks. I have yet to see one out at the track though.

I have never seen a stock Toyota under 14 flat, and my bosses kid has one that's a four door with the 381?hp engine that is about as far from impressive as one could get. He has had it for a couple of years+ and when he got it we all thought it would be quick, but it's not that great.

  13. I find there is a lot of quick NEW muscle running around. Lots of late model cars that run 11s or 12s, many of the older musclecars need an owner/tuner that know what they are doing or they aren't as quick as many think, quite a few times anyways.....?

Have you guys seen the Dodge Magnum that ran a 10.07 on Pass Time? It has gone 9.7? or 9.8s already and it weighs 4700 pounds!!!!!

  14. yeah sucks when that weight/hp equation is against you. :jester: we bought the wrong type of vehicle to go fast. It cost us too much to go fast when cars can do it much easier. those srt neons are fast but I still rather have my ss :chevy:

I think straight comparisons to many vehicles as far as acceleration goes is a compliment in itself when it's a full size truck that can be used for work AND play...

It's like guys who compare Japanese sport bikes to cars as far as I'm concerned... it's EASY to go fast in something that is cheap and lightweight, getting a 5000 pound + vehicle to run alongside sports cars ain't quite that easy.....

Keeping within 2 lengths of a car that runs 11.40s is no small achievement in MY books...

    Great run!

  15. Skipping all the BS.. I threw $50 down against an SRT-4 30-80 pull. This thing pulled 2 cars on me. I found out after the race this skittle ran an 11.40 @ Bandimere speedway (10s at sea level) on 24 lbs of boost. He told me he turned it up to 28 psi on me. I checked it out and talked to this guy, bored, stroked, ignition system, garrett 40mm, turboback exhaust, ported & polished heads, intake and turbo manifold, and a new tranny. This thing was stupid. I only wish I had $50,000 to dump into a brand new car haha. It was pretty funny this thing had stock wheels with drag radials, wing delete and a muffler looking at it from the outside. Goes to show, don't judge a book by its cover.

I know what you mean, a Stage3 SRT4 is way faster than they have a right to be. LOL

11.40 is a pretty quick time though, nothing to hang your head about! Pretty danged quick! To stay within 2 lengths is quite an accomplishment for a full size truck IMO.

  16. I just don't like the Subie sound, maybe it's just me. The sti's are quick little cars, but the exhaust sound goes against everything my ear drums represent!

    Good kill for sure IMO.

  17. i dunno how you ran 12s in an L99... mustve been on DRs??

im not sure if everyone kept up on the camaro, but the auto and the manual have different motors. my guess is you ran into an L99 (automatic). the average time i seem to see these actually run is mid 13s. people have done lower, of course, but im just saying the average i see.

I only saw ONE 2010 Camaro SS last year run, it was an auto and mid 13s. 13.5 or 13.6, I can't remember.

Guys who know how to launch and run these cars will get some much better times I'm sure....

    ;)

  18. On my way home from work tonight got behind a 89 mustang gt I could see it had aftermarket exhaust and street ets for tires and I could smell the racing gas what a awesome smell. So I decide what the hey so I pull around him and past him to about 90 and then I slow down to 70, then I see him step on it and get in the next lane so as he got next to me I hammered it he couldnt pull on me I was right on him we went to 110 if we kept going I think I could have pulled alittle on him. Sucks I get all these highway races no races ever off the line I think if we went from a dead stop I would have pulled hard on him. I feel like my truck should be faster and I should be pulling on these people I end up racing on the highway, but alot of people say if I raced from a dead stop the outcome would be totally different that I would pull hard on them. What you guys think is my set up not designed to race from a highway roll, think my outcomes would be different from a dead stop. Its just with my set up I should be deep in the 12's and when I race cars on the highway that are 13 sec cars I cant pull on them?????

I've raced a ton of late 1980/ early 1990 5.0 Mustangs, most when stock were mid-high 14 second cars if in LX form. Tossing a bit of timing at them and a lower Tstat would drop them down near a 14 flat.

The GT was a bit heavier, but with even mild mods the car should be in the 13s IMO. A car running racing fuel would be a little more modified IMO, so I think you did pretty decently myself. If it had any mods worthy of the race gas it shoulda been a 12 second car, or danged close...

Good run IMO to keep up to it.
