  1. What is the cab space, did you lose any bed space?

Bed is shorter by 18" or so...

    But the cab...holy sh!t. HUGE.

I'm 6'4" tall, and with the front drivers seat all the way back, I fit behind it in the rear seat comfortably.

The 4-doors are what started our search for a new truck. My brother has a '06 Silverado Z71 4-door...and after riding in it, I had to have a 4-door truck. Too much convenience.

  2. Wow Nissan huh....I guess you were ready for a change. Why not stay chevy though? My VortecMax is rated at 10,500 lbs or even the HD?

Sorry to hear the SSS has to go, and that you went to the dark side. :(

Truthfully, I've always been a Nissan guy.

Owned a mid-90's hardbody pickup...a '96 240SX (still have it, owned since 1997)...a 2000 Pathfinder...and an Infiniti G35 coupe (traded it for the Titan).

...and I've had nine (yes, 9) other 240SX 'project cars' over the years, all bought to fix and then sell for a quick profit (to fund my racing habit).

So, even thought there were Chevy's that could do the job...A Titan made sense.

...although a new Denali 4-door was REALLY tempting. Those are sick!

  3. put some nive wheels and she will look good.

    Already covered.

The Weld EVO wheels I had on the SS will fit the Titan perfectly.

I'm gonna put some 275/60-20 Nitto TerraGrapplers on there, it'll look great.

i like it alot titans are highly underestimated

I agree. Seems like a lot of truck forums bash Titans, and I don;t know why?

    It's a nice truck.

    ...

    Thanks guys.

  4. Yep, I bought a Titan. It's a 2005 model, SE, Crew Cab.

    Here's a pic:

    titan-at-sardis.jpg

I (we) needed more room, and in all honesty...more 'TRUCK'. The SS is more 'sportscar'...and I need more utility these days.

...and I wanted a truck that I didn't need to be so careful with. I always babied my SS, but the Titan...I'll romp offroad, get in it dirty, etc...I'm not as concerned with keeping it pretty, really.

    An example:

    titan-at-sardis-2.jpg

I'd never do donuts in the sand with the SS. Didn't want to scratch it. I hate to say I don;t care with the new truck...but it's an off-road truck. A couple scratches will just add character.

The Titan tows close to 2000lbs MORE than the SS, which I really like (I recently bought a car trailer for my 240SX).

I really thought I'd hate the Titan...figured it'd be slow, handle poorly, etc...but it's not too bad.

I've already lifted the front 2", put on a Magnaflow muffler, and dropped in a K&N filter...and it's pretty quick. Probably just a tick behind the SSS.

It does handle like a truck...but it also needs new shocks. The Bilstein's on my SS made a world of difference, hopefully they'll do the same on the Titan.

    ...

Anyway, the SS is currently for sale...and even once it sells, I plan to check in around here every once and awhile.

I know I'm not one of the really well known members here, but I check these forum most every day...and I really like the attitude here, as compared to a lot of the other forums I'm on.

    Just wanted to share.

  6. We got it on Pay-per-view at a friends...he has Dish.

One minute into the main event, the dish lost signal.

Came back about ~25 minutes later, RIGHT AFTER THE DECISION.

We got screwed, didn't see the fight.

    - Brian

  7. Incorrect, you will need 2 turndowns........the stock muffler has a dual 2-1/2 exit that Y's into a single 3-1/2 tailpipe.

...BUT...the one is for a 'resonating chamber'...there is no exhaust flow through it.

The one that need a turndown will have black soot, or exhaust residue in the pipe once it's cut off. The other will be more or less, clean.

I ran mine like that for a while (I like the no tip look)...and it sounded a little deeper / louder outside...the change wasn't noticeable in the cab.

  8. Go to Napa, Autozone, wherever...and tell them you need a Honda oil drain plug.

They will have a few, and TYPICALLY, the thread/pitch will be stamped on there.

    18x1.5, metric.

  9. Same here...I had the stock 105-amp in my 2003, and it was almost having trouble keeping up with demand...with the A/C on, and the e-fans on full blast.

    Upgraded to a "KG3"...GM optional 145-amp, bolt-in replacement.

    "Mr P" mentioned these were available in the 2004-2005 Z71 Tahoe's...and you'll need a longer belt (93").

    - Brian

  10. The one you want is a "KG3" option, from MANY of the later model Chevy trucks / SUV's.

I think that "Mr.P" specifically referenced the 2003-2004 Z71 Tahoe as one place to find one.

If you want a used one, search for a 2004 Z71 Tahoe on www.car-part.com - It's a junkyard search engine. Awesome.

Find what you need, then call the yard and place an order. When you call, specifically ask to be sure they are selling you a 145 amp model. Easy.

    ...

I just upgraded mine. Same deal - After the e-fans, the voltage would drop at night, with the A/C on (fans on high, headlights on, etc...). Not any more.

The belt you want after this IS the 93" one...I got a Gatorback, it was part number 4060930

  11. ...it seems like my AC doesn't blow cold or it takes a while to get going. In comparison to my wifes 06 Yukon XL, mine SUCKS! The Yukon blows hella cold fast.

Ever consider that maybe it's airflow related?

'06 Yukon probably has e-fans...does your SSS still have the factory clutch fan? More (constant) airflow over the condenser = colder A/C.

    Something to consider.

    - Brian

  12. WD-40 to help get it loose, and keep the paint from scratching.

Then wash with soap and water.

The wax / polish / whatever you prefer.

    ...

I did my mom's WHOLE Mustang years ago - She drove through a spilled BARREL of paint outside a business.

    Looked good as new after.
