  1. Nice HP numbers, but seems a bit short on torque.
  2. Yikes!! Glad you're both ok. Like everyone else has said, it looks worse than it really is. I've seen alot worse fixed with out any issues. A good bodyman can straighten that out. Plus, your truck being what it si, an SS, and the fact you've taken out a custom policy on it will play in your favor, because the value will be higher on yours. Good luck.
  3. Very nice. Some 17-18" Torque Thrust IIs would look killer on there.
  4. I think it's time for a beer.
  5. I love driving through moutianous areas. Beautiful country. Where was all the snow and fog?
  6. Holy sh1t!! (sorry, couldn't resist :crackup) What kind of dog was it? He's really pretty good when he helps me. He asks alot of questions, and wants to know everything I'm doing. Both of mine really don't bother my tools or parts while I'm working.
  7. That's what gets me. The reason it's so high now is because they're speculating for December. And I agree, their profits are out of the park. $35,000,000,000 in PROFIT for 1 quarter is just insane combined with the fact that we're paying record high prices for gas.
  8. I was changing the oil in the truck last night, and he was helping me. We finished up, and we were cleaning up, putting tools away, ect. As I was closing the hood I saw him climbing in the passenger's side, and close the door. I got in to move it forward in the driveway when he looks at me and says, "Daddy, are we going to take it on a taste test?"
  9. I just filled up with super at $2.99 a gallon, and we're suppose to be one of the biggest oil producing states.
  10. I've just about decided to go with billett servos as opposed to Corvette servos. My question is sould the springs be upgraded also? Mister P and I were talking about this pretty extensively one day after his trans was fixed. He said that BmanSS had added an extra spring to soften the one two shift at low speeds, which turns out is not such a bad idea for AWD trucks. The Corvette uses a dual spring setup for the 2nd apply piston as opposed to a single spring for the SS. Just wondering if this would be the thing to do to tame the low speed 1-2 shift?
  11. He doesn't have his truck with him, so it depends on what kind of rent car he has.
  12. That's kind of what I think. If you're running a higher stall then it would work great. I had the B&M years ago and it worked graet. Just about anything would be better than that dinky stock one.
  13. My wife had hers out a couple of years ago. The surgery was only like 45 minutes. You'll be fine. Get well soon, and here's to a speedy recovery.
  14. So the information Mister P posted is correct?
  15. Fer sure. Ver, very nice work. Possibilities are endless. Movies, music, tuning.
  16. Tires. Tires will make a huge difference. That's about the point that I replaced my original Goodyear's, and it made a big difference in ride, handling, ect.
  17. Actually, years ago I ran it like that on my GTO. I had the rubber hose pushed over the hard line a good 4-6", and double clamped. Never had a problem, but if I were to do it now I would flare it just to be safe.
  18. There are sooooo many wive's tales out there on little "tricks" like that, that end up destroying parts. Like P said, I'd leave it.
  19. I was looking at a set of OBX headers on ebay, and they look identical to the old style Dynatechs. Can anyone confirm/deny this? They're about a grand cheaper, and for that much I can deal with the funky bend.
  20. From reading your post you seem like a smart guy, and sounds like you've done your homework. I'm sure you know the advantages of buying an established business, and the importance of keeping current customers and employees happy/productive. Change makes people very nerveous, especially in the automotive business. I'm sure you'll do fine whatever you decide to do.
  21. That's the way things are here. A happy employee is a productive one.
  22. OH MY GAWD!!!!!! ICAN'T STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is true that some will see the light, while others wont. Also, you'll get to hear some of the same stuff in this business as you do what you're in now. "I can get that cheaper somewhere else", "Why do you need the year, they're all the same" (my favorite), ect, ect. You seem like an enthusiast, like so many of us here, so you'll probably do fine. The big thing to seperate yourself from the competition is to make sure your people are knowledgable. Stay on top of current technology in the industry, and you'll set yourself out front in your market.
