  1. It looks cool. I thought abot doing it on mine.
  2. That's the only color to paint a Chevy engine.
  3. Just wait. You will. J/k. That's great that you don't. I bet they would warranty it considering your milage.
  4. We just did one for the Dallas Auto Show last Saturday. You can see the pics in the events section.
  5. We do too. I think it's funny as hell watching these guys back pedal once they get busted.
  6. If you go to a good muffler shop they should be able to do hi flow cats, and all the fab work for a decent price. Shouldn't be a problem.
  7. Why yes. Yes it has. Where ya been?
  8. You will need cats. Harris county is an emissions county, so it will not pass with out them.
  9. The pics of them don't show the flange to bolt up the exhaust pipe. Is it on there, or are they a clamp/weld fit?
  10. I'm glad these header topics have been brought up. I'm old school performance minded, and the late maodel stuff can be tricky as far as emissions, computer controlled, and all that. I've always ran Hooker or Headman in the past, and anything less than a 3" collector was useless. I want to stay legal, and I thought that since the Dynatechs were so expensive, and had the cats, that they were the way to go. Reading this and the other thread has me doing some research. Pacesetter's are looking pretty good.
  11. I was just looking at some on ebay, and they are 1 3/4 primary, didn't give collector size. They don't look too bad, except they have that goofy bend on the driver's side that the Dynatech's used to have. I'll have to do some more research on these.
  12. Look in the AWD transmission tech section. Lots of good info on building a strong trans for these rigs.
  13. Wow!! That's definitely blown. [eek] I've seen bellhousings break, or cut apart by flying flywheels (not a pretty sight btw), but not the case like that. Curious to know the story on that one.
  14. Krambo pretty much has it covered. Step #7 is pretty important step. If you have to pull the converter to the flywheel to bolt it up, then you're positively engaged into the pump.
  15. Dallas, Collin, Denton, And Tarrant counties do smog checks. Not sure which county you live in. Grayson? Most of the big metro ares in Texas do the full emissions check, just the rural counties don't. But you can't get away from it. If you live in an emissions county you can't go to a non emissions county for an inspection unless they have the ability to do emissions testing. I think we'll be ok, because I don't believe we have adopted CA standards.
  16. Those people are extremist nut jobs. They're as bad as Green Peace, or PETA.
  17. And now for something completely different.
  18. I put mine top center of the back window.
  19. I thought for some reason that the Dynatechs were 49 state legal.
  20. Ain't nothing wrong with Doritos and a 6 pack. I've always driven pretty hot cars with loud (by most people's standards) exhaust, thumpity cams, ect. There's been many a night I've come home at 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning. I always tried to be as quiet as possible, and my neighbors knew that. We never had a problem, and I'm sure if we did we would have worked it out somehow. It' all about respect.
  21. That's pretty much what I think. The off topic section is for whatever.
  22. The only one that I know of that requires VI is the Allison 6 speed auto, and all 2007 models. But, Dexron VI will eventually replace III.
