  1. I didn't think you'd have to pay the insurance on your cruiser <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Town owned ... No ... Pesonally owned Beater ... (98 Vic) Yes .... not too bad, only about $500.00 a year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just curious. Do you get to drive your cruiser home? I have about 3 local PD in my neighborhood, and a state trooper, they all drive theirs home. One is my accross the street neighbor. He's responsible for keeping it clean, ect. Just wondering if that was the norm.
  2. I've seen one similar to that about Texas. Either way I like it.
  3. Damn it!! Thanks! Now I have that song stuck in my head.
  4. They were everywhere during the Iran hostage crisis in 79. Just about every car had one in the window. Buncha youngsters.
  5. I'm using Castrol Syntec 10W30, as I've used Castrol for years with no problems. I ran convetional 10W30 in my old Poncho, and my old trucks, but I'm learning of the tighter tolerances on these engines after being on this board for a couple of years now. I may drop to 5W30 on my next change. Like I said, I still think old school sometimes.
  6. Out of all the years I've had unisured/underinsured motorist we've used it once, but I'll never be without it. It's one of those just in case thing, but definitely worth it.
  7. I'v e alway thought that a 0W-5W30 would be too thin for our part of the country. I know oil has come a long, long way in the last 20 or so years. I've been using 10W30 for years, but I may be thinking old school. You really think the 5W30 is that much better?
  8. 550 lb.ft. of torque should be no problem with the big Olds. Sweet set up. Looks like you painted it Pontiac metalic blue.
  9. Nationwide fuul coverage on my SS, and my wife's Tahoe is $165.00 a month.
  10. What happened to your "I lick Windows" ...? (I loved that one) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Window anyway? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We should ask Mr. Owl. Or Gus the fireman. He knows everything.
  11. I don't think I have a wall in my house big enough for that.
  12. Exactly. Couple of extra decals, and a wing. Performance is the same. I thought the SSI had different shocks? Mr. P. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From Truckin Magazine Online: "When compared to the “normal” Silverado SS, the Intimidator is more than just a badge package. It will include a lowered ride height, performance suspension, two-stage multi-leaf springs, Tenneco shocks, a stiffer front stabilizer bar and harder front jounce bumpers. It will also be rear wheel drive with a 3.73 locking rear differential. Unfortunately, this will not be unique to the Intimidator, a GM representative says that every model year 2006 Silverado SS will be twisting only the rear wheels." Here is the link: http://www.truckinweb.com/features/0505tr_...y_silverado_ss/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's weird, because they're not listing different shocks or springs for the SSI. Just a shock for LQ9 with chasis pkg ZX3.
  13. Same here. Proves my theory that criminals are stupid.
  14. That's cool that they're bringing back some of the old wild colors.
  15. I like that look. It'll be a toss up between that, and stock location duals with some kind of tip.
  16. Exactly. Couple of extra decals, and a wing. Performance is the same.
  17. Read his thread titled "First Casualty" in the off topic section. Btw Rivierakid, Does your tailpipe come out the same on the driver's side as it does the passenger's? I'm trying to come up with ideas for exhaust tips, and was just curious. I've seen a couple on here that I like.
