  1. We will be going to the track on Friday leaving at 4:00. We will meet at Dr. Phils and leaving from there in convoy style to Martin Dragway.

I'll try to call around next week for a T off time for golfing.   I've never golfed in my life other than minature golfing so I won't be going. Should be good for some stories when everyone returns though.

I'm not sure how courses are out there, but out by me I've heard stories that a lot of the regular golfers get REALLY pissed when people are there golfing and don't know WTF they are doing... I hope the regulars take fridays off! Ehh, then again, what am I worried about- there'll be a ton of us :D

  2. I am looking for something a 6 foot 1inch inch guy(me) and 200 pounds soakin wet could ride as a beginner quad,  my copusin has a 250r 3 wheeler 2 stroke and that thing moves,  I like the new DVX's from atric cat, i heard they are pretty freakin fast for a stock wheeler

I'm 6'1" also... I weight around 245. I think a blaster would be a good beginner quad. I think they have to be the cheapest ones out there too. I don't have any complaints with mine. It's not a 400 or 500 or anything... but It's not at all what I would call slow- even with my big ass on it :D

  3. Have you ever driven one? They are awesome. Had an 03 for a while. Sold it to my dad and picked up an 05. I love them. Last year my brother and I got a 4500 Kodiak with the Dmax and that thing is a beast! I don't have ANY complaints with the trucks- other than the 48k sticker. Got the 05' with 5400 miles for 32 out the door with tax and everything included. It's too bad your so far from me- there is a dealer out my way that is awesome.

  4. I don't ride, but my boss has one.

    And more pic's here.

    :eek::wtf:

    That thing is sick :D

I've got 2 Yamaha 200 Blasters, Wanted a Banshee but my ex wanted to ride so i settled for these, now I wish I just got the Banshee :banghead:

I have a Blaster as well. It's perfect for me- I'm really accident prone so the last thing I need to do is go over 50 on a 4 wheeler. I also have a Polaris 500 4x4

  5. I just measured the posts for my lifts. They are 136"  (11.3'). The roof of the car won't go any higher than this so I would plan for about 12". You won't complain that it's to high but it's won't be good if it isn't high enough.

I totally agree. Nothing sucks more than not being happy when you spent a lot of money.

Coming from a construction family background. Getting more height is hard without raising the wall height. standard doors are 7' but we have an 8' door and it doesn't look out of normal. Just about the only way I can think to gain more height is raise the wall heights... even with a cathedral ceiling, you probably wouldn't gain enough height. I hope that makes sense! It's hard to explain. I guess depending on where the addition is going- maybe you have an option of putting a taller ceiling in the garage.

Another option would be putting a pit in the floor. It doesn't give you the ability to park 2 cars in 1 spot (OBVIOUSLY) but it does give you an option of being able to work under a vehicle. A buddy of mine has one. IMO it's a trap waiting to happen though.

  6. Quite a few of us have the Extang RT soft cover. Very low profile and it rolls up in about 15 seconds. It will not cover the stake pockets though. I just bought some stake pocket covers fron Stylinconcepts. ($29.95?) Don't know of any soft cover that will cover the holes. Sorry, don't have any good pics of the cover.

Did you buy the plastic or the Metal? The reason I ask is that I ordered the Metal. They came the other day. I'll have to check out the plastic ones. It looked like they might fit in the stake pockets better than the metal ones so I'm kinda mad I spent the extra $$ Oh well right :)

  7. I just picked up my new SS. I need a soft cover (prefferably a folding one) that will cover the square holes on top of the bed rails. What are you guys using? Some pics would be great if you have them. Thanks

I had the Extang Full tilt. I loved it, it came off all in one piece- OR, you could un snap it like traditional covers. The bow's were EXTRA strong. I had an Tekstyle on my extreme s10 and after a few car washes the bows bent.

I've never been happier with a softop cover. I wanted something more secure so I just ordered the Urban Industries fastback II. It was supposed to be in Tue. hope that helps

  8. I have an 03 with JUST over 18,000 miles... mine was a leftover about 18 months ago... I got a HELL of a deal... I'd say look elsewhere... theres been posts on here of newer SSS's for a lil bit more money.

As for the maintenance... I think a lot of it depends on how well it was taken care of. The interior is clean, which might give the impression they took care of it, but you never know.

  9. I bought a GM navigation system with th Bose Lux amp and antenna and installed it in my 04 SSS. When I took it to the dealer they told me they couldn't reset the anti theft and when they tried an error message came up. They also told me that it wont work in my truck because it wasn't an option and I would need Onstar for it to work. I figure the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. After further review and reading some posts, I found that the problem may be the wiring at the amp because the old amp was a non lux and I believe some of the wires have to be changed. Can anyone ell me if I'm on the right track. I would also like to install the XM radio.  Thanks

I'm no expert... what I do remember is that in order for the factory Nav to work it has to be the NON luxury one. I'm not familiar with what you would have to do to make it work though. Sorry for not being able to help much :banghead:

  10. Just talked to Christy... she can leave anytime. Last time we left early enough to get up there around 8am. (we came up Sat morning last year) I wouldn't have a problem leaving that early again if it means we all get the amusement of watching ME golf :D Just let me know when it gets closer what time I need to be there by :) Hopefully early- that way I can blame the poor golfing on no sleep

  11. Damn Bob,

Sorry to hear about this, but hopefully it all works out for the best
