  2. Okay let me rephrase the questions what would be the closest to where i live and make me happy with the tune and not cost the arm and a leg that i pay for gas

  4. I belive it was but as for the 1/4 mile I live in maine and all the tracks are closed for the season, I have to wait till spring to run it in the 1/4, stupid snow
  5. I found a block number 10066034 on the engine is that the number for the 350HO b/c it doesn't seem to be a factory number in any of my books
  6. I know but I bought the programmer more for the tires then anything b/c I went with 17x8 rims A custom tune is in the future
  7. I was told that the motor was replaced in 2003. I wanna say that the replacement motor was the 350HO motor that would explain a lot b/c those came with 290 crank hp 345+ trq thats all I can figure on to be honest with you guys b/c the stock Vortech only make 260hp and 335 trq from factory.
  8. Well i finally got my 98 Z71 dyno'd today here are the numbers 307 rwhp and 362 rwtrq are these good for this model with these mods?
  9. I agree my Valentine 1 is currently pitching a no hitter. I needed one after getting nailed 3 times in 2 months a few years back. I bought the Valetine and haven't been picked up yet
  10. I guess that nobody has seen this 383 kit I was hoping to not have to pony up the dough for a 383 if I could build one from the current block.

Hope you give the guy in front of you plenty of room b/c you'll be right up on him with steep of stall I agree with what brobradh77 said keep it between 2600-2800 if driving on the street, or you'll be really upset with the drivability of the truck with a 3400-3600 stall just my .02 though it is your truck

I mean there are lliterally tons of option for this truck I could keep the block and maybe up the comp ratio from 9.3or 9.4:1 to maybe something like 10:1 and change the stock cam as already suggested thanks dude, to maybe .474/.510 lift and 208/221 duration at 50 or is that along with some heads upgrade should get me over 350 hp would anyone agree
  15. The reason I was wondering about the 383 stroker kit was b/c the truck curently has around 103,000 miles and if and I mean "if" anything happened to it I wanted to be able to bulid a block with decent torque and horsepower. I just can't remember where I saw the kit any help would be great.

I keep forgetting that 160 thermostat is a mod I have one of those and for the brakes I'm running slotted and and crossed drilled rotors in the front with these new adaptive one pads theses things are awesome they have the stopping power of full metalic brakes but they last like a cermaic. As for the truck I can't complain too much I picked it up for 4000 bucks at a dealership and it runs strong. The programmer seemed to give it a heck of pick up in power but the custom pcm tune is better huh, on average what does one wield for power? This truck is a far cry from the SS Silverado I once owned but shes a pretty sweet truck none the less I'll pyt pics when we get done rebuilding and painting her up.

  19. Hope you guys like the 10 mpg the 4x4 gets too it was ranked worst in class even below the gass guzzling Ram Hemi with 11.7 mpg

I recently p/u a 1998 GMC Sierra Z71 (5.7) and I have bought and put on the following Air Intake,78 mm TB, TB spacer, Performance MAF, Hypertech Programmer, Headers(ceramic), Custom dual/dual before the rear tire exhaust, 4L60E tranny rebuilt with Kevlar clutches and band wider overdrive band and a corvette servo, shift kit(For racing). I have't had it dyno'd yet but I was wonder what else is there besides the obvious s/c for more power. I thought there was a 383 stroker kit for it? Anyone know of one? Or what kind of power I can expect from these mods? Any help is appreciated thanks.
  22. I have a similar problem with my 1998 GMC truck I was using my Hypertech max energy programmer and there was a power surge. Now the truck is dead in the water and the screen reads restart power programmer but when I checked it on my home computer it says that the programmer is unlocked and has not been installed It gave an 800 number to call but only open m-f 8-5 Is there anything I can do?
