  1. Well I will chime in here since I head up a powdercoating shop.

You are all correct and incorrect at the same time. First off the stock powdercoating is thin, and kind of cheap. It will come off with a sandblaster. How do I know I have done them a few times. Second of all to remove a good coating job you must first do what is called a bake off, this is where you use the oven to reverse the coating, and actually break it down. In a sense you are cooking the coating off, this makes it much easier to remove, with a blaster or other media.

Chemical baths are nice, but when it comes to powders you have to make sure all of it is gone for proper adherance.

What I would like ot know is that 300 dollars for all four wheels?

  2. Worked on a buddys truck these are the extra parts, that were not needed. Throw me some prices all these parts are for best offer.

  3. I was thinking of going with powder coated rims myself. I might go with dark titanium instead of black though.

Be careful when you do this color. Some will say it looks more like brake dust than the way it should, or you think it will turn out.

Way back in the day I posted a wheel I had powdercoated in black chrome... Liked dirty more so then cool..

  4. Nay........shorties do nothing but give you better sound, no real performance gain, save your money for LTs. Look into Dynatech or Pacesetter LTs, they are definitely the way to go. :chevy:

:withstupid: I would agree with this, as I had a set of the JBA shoties... They were nice for a while but only had a small mote increase over the manifolds.
