  1. Ahh the overwhelming chop debate haha. What's your end all be all for the truck are you going to go to a better flowing head later or or add boost? cubes? I would move on something that's going to give you everything you can get with the mods you have before I worry too terribly much on the sound. A little chop is okay but all in all my main concern would be your goals. My current cam has a healthy lope to it but it was picked to get the most torque at the low end out of my setup as possible.

  2. Yep I have been poking around guys just been so busy doing my own thing and now moving forward with a slightly different direction. However very much still alive trying to find more time to get online and see what's new and exciting.

Thinking about coming back as a sponsor to the site what does everyone think?

Might be able to get some deals for Kooks headers possibly looking at a 2" primary header being made if we can get enough interest and then of course procharger. Maybe engines built to suit?

Right now in the shop got a few things going I will try and post some images when I get a chance

But it's good to see familiar names again!

And yep still beating my truck on a daily basis.

  3. You won't need a bigger turbo out of the box if you step up on cubes. If you build the 408 right you will gain quite a bit of low end with torque and you will make up the high end gains even more so with the boost. A great misconception with turbos or any forced induction is you need to overdo it on your turbo. That turbo will support you to run 10's with a properly done 408 which yep between myself and zippy there are things going on. Hopefully soon things will be made public. However you will really love the torque you gain with the stroker and the nice part about it is when done right she will drive like a stock truck just with tons of torque on the backside that you never had before. Nominal price difference sure. But when all is said and done even if you go with a callies/callies rotator or a scat or eagle trying to keep the budget down you are still only going to be a few hundred bucks more out of the gate than you would be re tolerancing balancing and polishing your stock crank. I went to a compression stroker and never went back to boost. I have been debating adding boost to it but who knows.

You can hit up me or Zippy if you have questions I would love to help ya out Distance isn't an issue either one of my best customers is under pressure down in New orleans.

  4. I was late on the draw here. I can help you out if you ever look to build something on your own I work with a couple shops here in Vegas and we have put together some cool custom builds for guys in Arizona as well. I have a buddy that I assemble them for as well as pin and weld flash hiders for the cut down barrels to keep them legal.

I personally run a LWRC M6-A2 with a few extra goodies involved. It's a short stroke gas piston rifle. If I ever go class 3 and go full auto it's the cat's meow for heat with the piston system.

I think your really going to like the platform. It's something that customizing can never end.

  5. Strain it as best as you can on the next flush. The color is not totally uncommon at all. I have seen the silver grey and actually seen some mild debris on the fresh rebuilds before. Now if it continues after another flush and you do find shavings I would send it right back to ATI and have them check the tolerances the step up gears if not spaced properly or the intermediate shaft inside is worn you will have those gears meshing together way too hard and that will chew up the inside of the blower. One way to feel that the gear case may be an issue is pull the belt and roll the pulley back and forth with your hand slowly and feel the impeller in the back if it feels like there is any kind of slop in it when you turn the pulley it should engage tightly if it feels like it has play I would call procharger right away. I have had several units rebuilt by them and actually have had two issues and both of them were oil seal related.

  6. Correct me if I am wrong but from a tuning perspective I have yet to see a FULL spec sheet on the plug and play "60" # injectors. The Siemens 60's have been fully mapped with correct voltage offsets and the like. If I were to do the 60's, I would stick to the Siemens and splice your harnesses with the MSD connectors.

thumbsup.gif My thoughts exsactly. I like my Deka 60's they are a beautiful injector to work with

  7. I did a set of Obx's for a customer just a few months back. They are decent copies of the dynatech but I am not overly impressed with the quality. What I will tell you is the ebay ones came setup for a direct replacement to the 5.3 exhaust. They mate the two crossover pipes to a single flange rather than the dual pipes as the SS trucks have. By the time all was said and done I would have rather seen the guy spend a couple hundred bucks more and gotten the dynatech's or American racing. You definitely get what you pay for. I know that when guys want to do it on the cheap they try to get the best ebay deals they can but when you don't have the access to fab equipment or a lift it limits what you can do. By the time all was said and done when I modified the pipes and made it work with the existing SS exhaust he had another 150 bucks into it so he was just about 300 bucks away from an American made well built product not a knock off built overseas. It's personal preference of course but I would definitely suggest if your dad is doing this on a garage floor then get the right parts that are made specifically for the SS truck. There are a half a dozen companies out there that make setups. The pace setters actually are also designed around the 5.3 the pipe they offer to mate up to the cat back is actually the direct replacement to the 5.3 pipe. You can absolutely use the headers but you will have to do some fabrication especially if you plan on keeping the cats.

    Good luck hope that helped

  8. Ok ill be going with the tr6, thanks guys and as far as the tune as long as wheatley keeps doing rite by me ill go that route thanks if he is who you had to fix pm me i dont wont my shit messed up.

Charlie will do right by you. I trust his work.

  9. Tr-6 gap @ 35

    Word to the wise.

Be cautious with your tune I just recently fixed another forum member's tune here that was done poorly. Be sure whoever tunes it has experience with PROCHARGER specifically. Not just forced induction tunes. They can be finicky.

Good luck good to see another one out there.
