Well I wish you the best of luck... just thought I would throw this comparison out there 2004 extended cab ( not 4 door ) 4x4 - Mods - Wheatley tune, K&N intake, 180 thermo, straight pipe exhaust, TB Coolant Bypass 2004 Hemi RCSB 2x4 - Mods - Headers, functional ram air intake, plug wires, 180 thermo, superchips The above is mine and my buddy's truck. We finally got to race them after he came back from Katy to get his truck tuned by wheatley (that tuner kicks ass BTW). From a dig I would have him by 2 1-2 lengths by 90 From a roll of 20, I had him by like 2 lengths to 90 gave him a one truck length ( like in pinks ), he spun out a little and I flew right by him and we just quit... it was over I know that we have different trucks in different climates on different conditions. I just thought I would share, good luck, and tell him that if he HAD to buy a dodge, he should have got a RC. In my experience, most 4 doors ive raced are dogs Pat
  5. Sounds to me like you'll toast him. You should tell him to join up on www.rumblebee.org and let him find some stuff to modify his hemi. Maybe than it will be a more fair race, seeing as your truck isnt completely stock ;)

  8. haha, well I was sheeped into the Hemi by all of its advertising. DC sure knew how to make it look appealing. Hindsight is twenty twenty and if I could do things all over again i'd prob have gotten an SS silverado due to the fact that they are so tuneable. I just hope and pray the germans actually made us a good truck that will last, but so far this dodge has kicked ass. I mean, come on.......... its a HEMI
  9. I used to own an HD and I know what their badges look like. I am 100% sure I beat a vortec maxx ( and not the slow HD one ), unless some duesch really did put high output badges on his 5.3 I just think I would have beat him alot worse if it was a 5.3, since I have beaten several vortex max's and SSS. Well oh well, I guess I woulndt want to hear about my hemi getting whooped by something either. Peace brother

The Vortec High Output (also know as the VHO by some enthusiasts) was first introduced in 2004 to a limited market (mainly consisting of Texas and several surrounding areas). The VHO package (under option code B4V) included several options previously not found on the standard 1500 model, most notably the LQ9 6.0 liter V-8 engine (the same used for the Silverado SS and the Cadillac Escalade). The LQ9 motor was rated at 345 hp at 5200 rpm and 380 lbf·ft (515 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm, which was the same specifications shared in the SS models. I got this from the High output/vortec max part on that page. I live in central texas, where they were mainly produced. Being an ex silverado owner too, I could tell it was an 04.
  11. Well speaking of racing ( and I dont want to steam the ss guys by making a new thread), I just got to beat a chevy silverado HO today. We both left circuit city at the same time, and I noticed that the side of his silverado had a badge that said High Output on the sides of the doors. It looked just like an SS with the factory twenty's and everything, minus the SS badges. He had duals and thats all I could tell that he had for mods. We pull down the road together and as fate has it we end up at a red light together. I give him a playful rev and he just kind of grins. When the light turned green I got a hard jump on him and he continued to fall farther and farther behind... by about 100 mph he was 3 lengths behind and I slowed down and waved him on. This was my first time ever racing a 6.0 chevy engine, I was pretty impressed. Considering how confident the chevy guys are, I was sure id get creamed. Not all rumble bee's are slow, but they did dupe alot of stupid people into buying them under the impression that they were fast off the showroom floor

  16. Its all about if they are 4x4 or not. I barely have mine digging into the 13's now... but Im happy with that since its my college daily driver. I have never raced an ss, I think it would be interesting. Cant knock something til you've tried it

  19. Being a hemi driver, I will tell you first hand you have nothing to worry about. Your intimidator ss plus intake, exhaust, and a tuner will for sure blow away a bone stock hemi. I believe a Hemi with your equal mods would even have a hard time competing. It's really all up to if your a good driver or not

Well that sucks that those other Bee's were lame, honestly ive beaten every RB that has come across my way too effortlessly ... young kids think that just because they have a retro decal on the bed that their truck is a hotrod. I DO think my times should be better than a 14.8 though, I see guys everywhere (and even on this website) that claim better HEMI times than me and I have more or equal mods ? Some guys even have less than me and are claiming 14.5 to 14.4 !?!?! I would really like to run a Silvy ss (because they are pretty badass) , the next best thing to an SS that I HAVE run was my buddies Modded "Hemi Slayer".... He has an 03 silverado 1500 ext cab (like the ss) with a 5.3 (comp cam, stall converter, plugs, wires, intake, exhaust, ported and polished heads and TB, traction bars, and a Nelson tune.... and a huge ass HEMI SLAYER sticker on the back). BTW he was 100% sure he would roast me. From a dead stop, I beat him EVERY time due to his stall converter, pretty badly too, at least 2-3 lengths by 90. From a roll of 30, we stayed door to door all the way to about 90 but i beat him out eventually in the top end ( this was due to the fact that we were on a curvy road and my dodge has badazz suspension, and his big boat of a truck couldnt handle the turns) - at this point he is pissed and pulling his hair out, and offers me half a tank of gas to go out to a LONG straight country road outside of town and run them to the limiter From a roll of 20, we both stay DOOR to FREAKING DOOR until about 110 or so and he begins to slowly inch on me by about 130 he was just about 1/2 a length on me and neither one of us was gaining.... CHEVY WON THAT ONE needless to say, i got my gas and some respect from a diehard GM guy, he even told me that I was easily the fastest HEMI he had ever ran, which is several thanks to his HEMI SLAYER sticker (but he races alot of qc's)... SO my question is, any SS's in the brazos valley/ houston area that are down for a and than ? Pat
  21. Your quite right sir, there are alot of HEMI guy's out there that think they are the shit. I had an even sadder dodge package called a "Night Runner" ( Even more limited editions from dodge? WTF ) try to race me the other day. I let him get next to me and even have a head start... but eventually he was a speck in my rear view mirror I still need to race me an SS silverado... i ran a 14.8 in the hot weather so my times are close to an ss's stock, or with intake and exhaust possibly.... tell me how your race goes!
  22. I posted this up a few months ago, but I also had a fun run with a GTO and came out on top... You could tell that the driver and his buddies that rode to the track in the GTO thought it was THE FASTEST THING EVER. They even had the nerve to be ass's to me in the test n tune lane when I asked them about the owners car ( I guess he figured I was a jackass because i drive a hemi, I was being polite tho). I was sure that I wouldnt take him, but this made me want to waste him super bad anyways... race on! So when we finally got to the tree and lined up I landed a .6 for my reaction time and he got a 1.2 I had him all the way to the end by a nose, and our times were a 14.8(mine) and a 14.9(gto). Im very sure that he had to have missed a gear, because I KNOW that there is no way I should have won. I never go out and tell people I can beat GTO's, but it is one of my favorite track stories. P.S the prick never would even look at me again that whole night
  23. That reminds me of the other day when i floored my hemi at 40 mph and it seemed like it fell flat on its face. So i slowed it down to 30 and hit it and that sucker LAUNCHED and I rode it out until 50 or so and it chirped em hard like normal when it shifts... I really dont get "THE HEMI" sometimes
  24. and to answer your question there isnt much difference but the gfx and the cool plaque... Im a mopar guy and always will be, cant change that! Dodge is alot different these days than they used to be... i believe they will be as quality of a vehicle as a chevrolet will now-a-days... i love both!
