  1. The code is in my truck but they said it was the right side 02 sensors. Theres two at 95.00 so I was thinking I'll just buy a programmer for 100.00 more bucks and get the added performance programes and code reader and just turn them off. I just wanted to make sure I don't need to look into this further before deactivation. Is there a way to check the cat's?

  2. I really don't get what a check engine light set off by the 02 sensor really means?

All this time I was thinking no big deal, just a bad sensor I'll just buy a programmer to deactivate the sensor so the check engine light goes off. But could a cloged cat set the sensor off also or any thing else that could harm my truck. :chevy:

  3. Great idea thanks for the info. All went well and will be much easyer next time, did the plugs,wires,sea-foam top end treatment and oil change and tranny filter and fluid change. Today will be the front and rear diff and transfercase case fluid change. And I may have some time to custom mount some piaa 520 in my airdam. And to top it off a little power wash undernieth and she will be done. :chevy:

  4. I drove the truck around for a little bit and the rear seems to have tightened up. I have the locking differential. For 2006, is an aurburn unit used or eaton G80? For other vehicles I have always used regular gear oil with a gm additive but I thought the differentials were sticking in  gm trucks so additives are not being used anymore.

There have been posts here about not using any additive (friction modifier) to the Eaton G80. I don't believe they use clutch packs like a regular limited slip or positrac so no additive is needed. I just swapped all fluids to Amsoil in the engine, front and rear diffs, tranny and xfer case. Mobil1 is good too. MPG seems to be up about +.6 to.8 too.

    Dam that chick is hot!

  5. Man some times you just need to step back and call it a day and start fresh I guess. With in 30min I had the pan off with a little pry on the linkage bracket and new gromet installed and new filter installed.

Now should I blow out the rest of the fluid from the trans cooler? :dunno: Or is it not worth it? If it is where will the fluid come out at? Blowing the line would that empty the converter of it's fluid? If that happends then I would have to drop and refill the converter right and I'm not into that. So what should I do?

  6. I could use a little help. First off I have an 03 z71 suburban and I believe it's the same tranny the SS uses. First off I have tryed for hrs to get the tranny pan all the way off with no luck. So it looked to me I would have to drop the exsuast. So any way if there is a trick please let me know. So I moved on and decided if I can get to the filter and pull that out the pan may come out ,well no luck there. So I decide screw it I'll wipe the pan out and throw in the new filter and be done with it. Well thats when I noticed that dam cromet is still in the hole where the filter tube hooks into. Lets just say 2hrs later that dam thing is out but now the new one won't press in there. Whats the trick to get the new gromet back in so I can install the filter. Also I bought a programmer so do you think it's a good idea to pull the corvette servo and install my stock one back before useing the programmer or leave as is and don't increase the line pressure for first and second shifts? Thanks a bunch for any ideas. I've done tranny filters before but it was a simple drop change filter and bolt back up.

Getting this gromet in with the filter is my current problem. :banghead:

  7. I guess you can say I'm going LUCAS crazy. I picked up two small bottles of there fuel injetor cleaner last week and for the first time my 03 suburban is in the 14.3-14.5 MPG and steady same drive everyday and never once droped into the 13s. My normal range is 13.5- 13.8 on the computer. They clam more power and better gas milage and so far thats true. So today I picked up the 100gal tank bottle for 8.00 at autozone. Someone give it a try and post your results. It nice to see a product that it clams what it does. They way I looked at it for the small investment why not. IAll I can say it worked on my truck.

  8. The guys over at LS1 highly recomend the Crane powermax tuner. Is it worth the extra 70.00?  The predator was also highly rated but with less features, but it's also cheaper.  The rest Hyper, superchips were rated as good for a paper weight only.  Has anyone tryed both or at least the powermax so I can justify the extra cash. :driving:

I think I posted in the wrong fourm? Can it be moved or is it ok here?

  10. If you what a custom truck get the plain silverado loaded with the vortex max engine upgrade and use the exstra cash you will save by not getting the SS package. You should save about 3,500 that you can use for customizing the truck the way you want it.
