  1. i was coming home today and i caught a light with a single cab ram who looked like he wanted to go. he had rims & exhaust from what i could see and he was driving like a maniac before we caught the light together. he must have seen me in his rearview mirror and decided he wanted to be a tough guy. so were at the light and i am happy as hell because i just got my tune in, so i throw some revs his way and he doesn't rev back. all he did was stare over at me and smile. light goes green and we both hit it, i jump big time off the line and had about 2-3 trucks on him at 60 and i was still pulling, and then he let off. i see him at the next light and he congratulates me on my truck. all he could talk about was my SS. :jester: he said he wanted to get one bad, but his wife wouldn't let him spend all that cash money, so he got a ram instead. he was a good guy though. it was fun as hell pullin on him the whole race  i tell you what, this truck is a whole new beast now, i'm lovin it.

Nice kill!!! Expected though with your mod list. Other than

an exhaust that does very little to nothing, what other mods

did he have? If all he had was the exhaust I would say he

    did OK.

  2. i weighed in at 5100, 03 ss AWD

I'll throw my 2 cents out there to, i've been down this weight road before on the dodge website...The silverado is lighter, no mater what version rc or Ext. There is no debating it. If you try to compare the Ext cab ss to the QC ram the verdict will always be the same the ss will win, because of weight and gears. I hate to compare apples to oranges but the only fair way to compare the 2 brands is the reg cab 2 wheel drive hemi to the AWD SS(the 2 wheel drive ss is a touch faster then the AWD...some times). There will always be the chevy guys saying it's not fair to compare a ext cab awd to a reg cab 2 wheel drive and they're right, it's not apples to apples. The hemi guys will alway say if there ram was lighter it would stand a chance...and they're right, but that isn't apples to apples either because it weighs what it weighs. So take out of this what you will, but the point is there is no fair way to compare these trucks and doing so only gets guys mad.

    Brad

Well said Brad!! Could not agree more. Man! 5100lbs is light

as a feather. I assume that is with you NOT in the truck?

How much fuel was in your tank. I have a SnugLid hard

tonneau that adds a good 120lbs to my truck. I had it

weighed with just a hair over 1/2 tank fuel and it weighed

4880lbs. My curb (full tank) weight would be in the 4950lb

range. Us Dodge guys have to just strip down our trucks

to reduce our weight. I pulled my spare and jack which knocked

off 88lbs. That helped my times by close to 1/10th second.

Now, just get rid of my 40/30/40 seat (has power drivers side)

and throw a couple light buckets......LOL!! No, I'm not going

that far. Light 18" wheels and a 2/4 drop is what I would like

    to do.

  3. Im running 255 R16's w/ Michelin LTX M/S. He wasnt really cocky, he had a big grin on his face the entire time, except when he freaked out on the light :D , he seemed pretty cool actually. My new time should be in the 14.6 range, Im going to the strip tommrrow if the weather holds, which it's supposed to.

The RCSB Tundras are supposed to be nasty, low 14's stock I guess. I dont think they would have an aftermarket anytime soon tho.

About the only in the near future for the Tundra will

be inatke and exhaust mods. Don't think they will

    get any tuning that soon.

Those 16's are really making a big difference for your

truck. They must be in the 28" diameter range.

  4. I talked to the guy at a stop light that took forever, he had a black 2wd RC SB Hemi Rumble Bee. We asked what mods eachother have, only thing he had was a Flash pack from Superchips and some very loud ass duals. After exchanging words there is a Toyota Celica behind us reving, probobly because the light took forever. The rumble bee guy looks around calmly and then asks "I wanna see what that bowtie has, wanna run?" I said "sure, you think that ricer back there will keep up? He said no his wife has one. We sat around for a little while and he began cussing at the light and yelled "I need to get back to work, damnit" or something like that. Then the adjacent light turned yellow, and he yelled "get ready chevy guy" with a big shit-grin. The light turned green and we both mashed it. I heard the ricer behind us getting on it also. We were neck to neck until I pulled at 65, only a matter of feet though, I looked over and his grill was right there. The Celica was behind the Rumble Bee somewere, a few lengths. We let off at 80ish, and I hopped on the highway and he kept going and honked. The Celica, which looked decent with a body kit followed the Dodge.

It was a good race, traffic was low, it was around 2pm. Traction was good on my end, he spun a little bit. Im suprised I actually raced a stranger who was cool about it! Especially a Dodge guy, lots of the Dodge guys around here drive around like hard asses

Sounds like a pretty good race. Those heavy 20's do hurt performance.

What wheel/tire combo are you running? What kind of times will

    your truck do now

  5. Good point on the weight...But you were also comparing an AWD SS EXT CAB V.S a REGULAR cab 2wd Dodge.

I am sure the SSS would love to have that light weight aswell. My point was SSS is heavier, and stock for stock (in most cases)are faster then a reg. cab RC RB 2wd.

That dodges are cool lookin , but just a bit slower then a SSS. IMO .5-1.0 sec slower

This is from kbb.com. They get their info from the manufactures.

    2007 Silverado SS Ext. Cab 4X2 4627lbs

    2007 Dodge Ram QC Laramie 4X2 5232lbs.

The Ext Cab SS is quite a bit lighter than I am. So I would

guess AWD SS would be in the 5200-5300lbs range.

I think the QC 4X4 Hemi Rams are pushing 5700lbs.

  6. It's not misinformed info... I have witnessed it my self at capitol raceway.

maybe everyone I saw was 4wd.... But..none the less... a 5.3 reg cab GM pick up can polish them off. If mods are equal the ls engine will win just about every damn time! You should know better then this.

Hell the 4l60's are not good in the SS..But I would rather have that then the dodge OD trans.

Yes, a stock QC 4X4 would run in the 15.8 range. The 4X2 version slightly

    better.

At 4400lbs of course the 5.3L RCSB GM's perform well. Wonder what my

truck would do at that feather weight? I'm just under 4900lbs w/ half tank

    of fuel.

  7. How would he be toast? 2-3 truck lenghts is pretty serious lead.... We all kow those damn Rumble Bees are TURDS (stock at least)...Bottom line...... They are 15.8's and higher judging from my local track. So a "Flashpaq" would make that much difference? Sounds like snakeoil to me.....

You cant just name a mod on a truck and say ..YES it will win Now because he has a tuner.... Thats lame for you to even make that statement.

to many other factors come into play.

    :troll:

Yes, 2-3 lengths is a good lead. The SC FlashPaq #3815 knocks

off an easy 1/2 second from both 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Maybe even slightly more. It did on my RCBS Ram. You do the

math. What happens to that 2-3 length lead with a 1/2 second

faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile time?

  8. How would he be toast? 2-3 truck lenghts is pretty serious lead.... We all kow thos damn Rumble Bees are TURDS...Bottom line...... They are 15.8's and higher judging from my local track.

You are sadly misinformed. Stock RCSB RB's run 15.0 to 15.2.

Throw on a FlashPaq and your a mid 14 second truck. Easy!

With a good CAI and a cat-back 14.4's are norm.

  9. No hes getting some mods. Hes pissed. Raced two Rumble turds and beat them by 3 to 4 lenghts by 80. I dont think they transfer there 345 as good as our ss do.

Either that or your mod list may have something to do with it.

    "Drive it like a Madman Cai,Zippy Tune,Longtube Pacesetters,HighFlow cats,Magnaflow,160t-stat"

  10. So I'm heading to work at 2 in the morning when this yellow Dodge pulls out a bit in front of me. I seen this truck around and always wanted to see what it could do. The kids in the truck are more ready to race then me...they start waving me down and stuff...so we stop on the road and get ready. He said he was stock but really fast...I said ok count from 3....I got a lead from go and he never pulled me back in...I was about 2-3 trucks at 110 when I let off. The kids were cool though...he said his truck wasnt running right...I asked what year and he said 04. They would have played around longer but I had to get to work and we went different ways.

So you raced him with the mods in your sig? I would

say the stock RB was running right and did quite well.

Had he had the SC FlashPaq you would have been

    toast.

  11. I wish my SSS weighed in at 4400lbs! I weigh in at 5500. (EDIT - your not talking about the SSS :banghead: )

Anyway, just as an observation, here are the times I see at the track.:

Modified (CAI, cat-back, DR's, shifter etc.) RC SRT-10's are running 12.6-13.5

QC SRT'10's assuming they are stock were doing 13.5-14.2

I see this every time I go to the track at all different weather conditions. The SRT-10 has amazing upper end acceleration and obviously alot of snot under the hood. I respect those trucks and at times envy their looks.

    Anyway, enjoying the conversation...

    I assume your a 4X4? If my RCSB were a 4X4 I would

guess my curb weight to be in the 5200-5250lb range.

That is a lot of weight for a Reg Cab short bed truck.

What really helps the SSS is the AWD. It really shows

    in their 60ft. times.

I have seen lots of stock time differences for the RCSB

SRT-10. It all depends on how well you can shift that

thing. The shifter seems to have a long throw from

just looking at it. Just because some magazine tests

a vehicle and come up with track time doesn't mean

squat to me. Some of those test drivers are clueless

when it comes to getting the most out of a vehicle.

  12. Rumble Bee's a trim packadge, thats about it. Same for the Daytona. Rumble Bee's are Reg cab Short beds, Daytona's are extended cabs and maybe long beds with the cool wing. One has a Daytona decal and one has a Rumble Bee decal on the bed. One of Dodges attempts to sell trucks. I almost got one, but didn't. Glad I didnt, because my truck matches one and costs less...plus looks better.

Im pretty sure Rumble Bee's run 14.7-15.0 stock. Whats sad is my truck ran 14.9 with only a 87 tune, and it only packs 285hp factory with 3:73's compared to their 345 hp and 3.92's. Thats lame right there.

The stock RB runs about the same a stock SSS. Both

are in the flat 15 second zone. The reason your truck

does so well for it's HP rating is weight/hp ratio. Your

truck is light as a feather. My curb weight with my

hard tonneau is 4950lbs. Your probably in the 4400lb

    range.

  13. If your money is on the Tundra, then I'll bet my next pay check on it. Here in Las Vegas, I ran a 14.7 @ 95mph, and that is at 2300ft. above sea level. It's almost a second slower than everywhere else. There was a new ext. cab 4x2 Tundra at the track the same night (the one with the badge), and he got embaressed. He only ran a 15.7, and that's bone stock. Titan's were beating them. Now if he had the same mods., then it would be a different story. Otherwise, I'll smoke'm

I think one second is a little high. I would think the difference

between sea level and Vegas would be three or four tenths of

a second difference. With your mods you should run (sea level) in the

14.2-14.3 range. I would say the Tundra you saw was not the

new 5.7L version. I am still quite sure a RCSB 5.7L Tundra

with just a exhaust and CAI will take you. Given the way

    your truck is right now.

  14. Im a junior in high school and i was talking to my computer business media teacher and he just got a maroon tundra with the 5.7 and he was talking about how fast it was and i told him i had a silverado ss and he said he would race me. All I have done is dual flowmaster 1 chambers and programmer so it will be close. I will let you know how it goes.

I have read on other forums where a couple of

Tundra DC (DoubleCab) 4X4's went to the track

and both did a 14.6 1/4 mile. This in a bone

stock truck that weighs 5660lbs! Based on the

time in your sig my money is on the Tundra.

Just imagine how fast the RC/SB 07 Tundra

at 4980lbs will be. You and me both are in deep

$hit if we come across one of them! My guess

is a RCSB running 14.3 or so.

  15. i caught a ram at a light today and it was some old dude so i thought he wouldn't go. i was wrong. i was in a hurry to get somewhere, so i was at mid throttle at the green light when i hear him get on it. i punch it right when we were head to head so it was even, and i pull and pull on this guy untill 70 were i had about 2 trucks on him and we had to shut down due to traffic. while we were waiting for the light he said in these exact words "your truck is awesome sunny, i'm jealous". :jester: we had a laugh and then he was out. he was a cool old man, but he should of known not to play around with this. mark another KILL

Great kill!!! You were able to beat the old dude in

his...more than likely... stock Hemi Ram. I wonder

what the outcome would have been with no

high-flow cats,CAI and LT headers? Nice kill anyway.

  16. My only reason for this post was to clear

the BS that was said. Nothing more.

    Nothing less.

"Only tune for the Titan is a black box"

"Their are no custom tunes yet for the Titan"

"No dealership tunes for the Titan"

  17. It must suck to have such a small after market for your trucks, and for those who have pioneered and done some original stuff with their Titans, kudos. For those who dont wish to read and discuss the Titans, read the thread topic and dont whine about folks discussing Titan's in a thread marked "Titan Info."

Lets not loose sight of our good values just because we're posting and chatting over the internet. I know for a fact, half the stuff said in the little rants wouldn't be spoken in a face to face conversation. So why do it here? Lets keep it real and try to get along.

    -Cody

    Ditto!! What montanass said!

  18. Just thought I would start this thread since

the other Titan kill thrread was closed.

First, the only dealership upgrade for the Titan

that works is the 2 deg timing advance.

The Titan boyz do have a custom tune that

is no only in Texas. That will change in time.

The company is called UpRev. Take a look.

Granted, some of these guys have quite a few

mods but the results are quite impressive!!

The Titan CC is the heavier model. But low 14's!!

Maybe some you Houston SS guys ought to meet

at HRP and run the Titan, Hemi boyz!!

  19. Cruising home with the wife from the familes house last night around 9pm or so.  I am on the 5 freeway around the Tustin area and a newer WRX STI pulls up next to me.  I blew past him for a second, and slowed down.. he got next to again (were at 80mph), and he gunned it.  I did the same.  By about 120mph he was about 6-10 feet behind my back bumper and I was ssllloowwwllly pulling, but I decided I was going wayyy to fast so I let off (for some reason i noticed only 2.5* of KR.. usually its higher).  So we both slow down, and he rolls down his window a little and gives me a thumbs up.

This is where the story gets shitty.  2 minutes later BAM... blue and red lights.  Highway Patrol.  He gets next to me and says 'pull over at the next exit'.  he slowed down to the WRX (he was like 1/4 mile behind me at that point, thinking i am only getting busted I think) and he tells him the same I am assuming.  We exit the freeway, and pulls us both over.  Dude comes out and says "I am pulling you over for speeding, and racing".  I didnt say shit, gave him the registration, DL, and insurance and he gets the info from the other guy.

At this point I am thinking the truck is getting impounded and I am going to jail.

While we are waiting the guy in the WRX tells me that I have a sick truck and that its fast as hell.  He had a good attitude, and seemed like a nice guy.  Didnt seemed to be bothered by the fact that we might be on our way to jail... lol.

So the officer comes back and says "Sign here, its for driving 90mph in a 65.  I am not going to cite you for racing, becuase thats a misdemeanor and you would go to jail possibly and loose your truck and/or license".  He did the same for the other guy.  I thanked him, and I was very happy.  I told him to have a nice night, and he shook his head and walked away.  LOL.  I got LUCKY.

Moral of story:  I am done street racing.  This was my first ticket in 4 years...  and in 9 years of driving (and racing in various cars) first time getting pulled over for racing.. and first time getting pulled over on the freeway.

Ouch!!! That is going to be a costly ticket when

    it's all said and done.

  20. I am 2wd.... weighing in at about 5300 lbs.

I would assume your 14.8 was done in warm

weather? I know of many RCSB Hemi Ram

owners with your mods who do a little

better in the 1/4 mile. Either it was warm

or higher elevation. Are you guessing your

weight or did you actually weigh your truck?

With me in the truck and a hair over 1/2

    tank fuel I am at 5075lbs. I have a 125lb

SnugLid hard tonneau on the back as well.

Yeah man I am in the deep south.... central texas to be exact

right here close by austin.... i would think that my truck would dip into a 14.6 or 14.5 after all my mods but no such luck... solid 14.8's! Im about to get some taylor shorties and see if it helps any at all, if I still cant shake a 14.8 with my current mods ive got a 6.1 cam sitting in the garage waiting to be installed... just got to save a little money so I can take her to "The HEMI shop" in austin

ps - no i did not officially weigh my truck but i thought thats what a rcsb ram weighed?

You should be able to get into the 14.6-7 range in

cooler weather. If your running the Hemi hat

(intake resonator) you could drop your times

close to 1/10th of a second. The air hat effects

air stream velocity. Don't expect any gains with

the Taylor short cables. I had the 8.2mm one's and

they made no performance difference. They do

dress up the engine compartment though! No,

QC's weigh in the 5300lb range. My curb weight

(no hard tonneau cover and a full tank fuel)

is around 4820lbs. That's the one thing that sucks

about Dodge trucks. Heavy pigs. RC/SB GM trucks

are in the 4300-4400 range. Man!! If only my truck

was that light! That's what it's all about. Lower weight

    to HP ratio's.

  21. I am 2wd.... weighing in at about 5300 lbs.
