  1. Getting ready to pull the trigger and drop the VHO. Was thinking Belltech 2508 spindles and 5952 springs, but now considering rear hangers and shackles. Which rear hanger/shackle kit from Belltech, looking at 6515 3" kit. Is this the correct one? Looking for input.
  2. Is the "shake" in the steering wheel or does the truck shake? If the front rotors are warped then the steering wheel will vibrate when braking hard. If how ever the whole truck shakes it could be rear. I had the front rotors and drums surfaced and still had vibration till I figured out it was the frame harmonics causing the vibration I had, there is a bulletin on the subject.
  3. Put two sets of these on customer cars at the shop I work at. No complaints, loooonngg wear, quiet running and are probably what I'm going with when time to buy for my truck. Put some of the Fortera HL's on the Envoy, one step down from the Triple Tread and they have been great. Goodyear may not make a good slick for Indy but make a good street tire.
  4. I was wanting to bump the compression up a tad hence the small chamber 243's, I'm not set on those heads just a resonably priced decent flowing head. My choice of those were based on the roughly 10.5-11 to 1 ratio and the fact that the ported 243's would flow a little better than the stock 317's. Is there a better choice for less than say 2k?
  5. After 2 years of just driving I'm ready to up the go a wee bit, been looking at cams and though the GT2-3 sounds good for stock heads I was wondering if the MTI Stealth II and some ported 243's might be worth the extra greenbacks. While I'd love some TEA 245cc LS2 type heads I just don't want to spend $2500 on heads, nor do I want to lose low end. I think the ported LS6's and a 220-224 cam should do the trick, but need some input. Please don't reply "blower" I know it would get me a boost(get it) but I want more sleeper than in your face, daily driver so keep that in mind. I plan on headers if I go head swap. Am I looking in the right direction or is there something I have overlooked? Here is what I had in mind; stock LQ9 lower end, MTI Stealth II cam, WCCH(most likely) or other ported LS6 "243" heads 64 or 69cc chamber, headers, stock intake, maybe marine injectors if needed, tune. I'd like to run the stock torque convertor or TBTC later on.
  6. I read the specs at work today, the 550hp/550tq rating gave me wood.
  7. 5yr/100k warranty is POWERTRAIN as in motor and trans, steering shaft falls under bumper to bumper 3yr/36k. Having said that if you have a good relation with your dealer and or they have replaced it in the past under warranty then most dealers will goodwill the steering shaft. I work at a GM dealer and will tell you all this, if you show up only to my place for warranty work or come in with attitude the chances for a goodwill fix is slim, and thats the way it is at most dealers.
  8. Used Mobil 1 synthetic on my old S10 over 150k and never a tie rod or ball joint replaced when I sold it. Use Lucas red synthetic now, sticky shit stays put.
  9. 11 up front on 2wd, one on carrier bearing for total of 12.
  10. Well I see a funnel and a hairy a$$ arm. What am I looking at?
  11. And top end and any other hope of horse power gain with the flowcrapper.
  12. For the mirror you would need the temp sensor that mounts up near the trans cooler behind the grill. Not sure but the BCM still may not see the new mirror without a flash. Not much is plug and play.
  13. No recall just a bulletin on the intermediate shaft. I saw one today, it does not have the exposed splines like the old one did. The new one was very "tight" but when pulled apart completely there were no splines visable. Hard to explain, but if you have seen the old style you would know what I mean. May try to get mine installed next week before we run out of stock, got a feeling there may a long wait if these go on backorder.
  14. Looks like the same one on my 05 VHO.
  15. The one on the left is listed for the 07's, the one on the far right looks better in person and has been out for a while. FWIW we got a bulliten the other day that said NOT to mount the older style 20" wheels on the 07 new body style. When I say older style I mean like the VHO wheels.
  16. And thats about all I can say about the Tundra.
  17. But its a Flowcrapper, its going to choke the truck no matter what size it is.
  18. Some free programs that I use which have daily-monthly updates and have never let me down are: Spybot Search & Destroy AVG Antivirus Ad-Aware by Lavasoft ZoneAlarm Firewall Spybot, Ad-Aware, and ZoneAlarm you can download at www.download.com For AVG, just google 'AVG Free' and you will get links to their free website. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good list might add SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 to that. Not so much a "remover" but it does help you from getting loads of crap.
  19. Tighten the bolts a first pass 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) Tighten the bolts beginning with the center two bolts. Alternate from side-to-side, and work toward the outside bolts. Tighten the bolts a final pass 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) Tighten the bolts beginning with the center two bolts. Alternate from side-to-side, and work toward the outside bolts.
  20. Go to another dealer, it's only a $14 "lube kit" and half hour labor.
  21. Single in single out Ultra-Flo SS 17263 1133 cfm 2.50" Full Boar dual in dual out (2)2.50" V414F ** (2)2.50" 597cfm Yep thats some great flow there. LOL But in fairness it is "better" than flowcrappers.
  22. Price out the replacement on a transmission... cuz if anything goes wrong that'll be it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, and with most dealers you will be looking at a min 8.5 hours labor to R&R a trans, plus cost of the tranny.
  23. Thanks Simon...that helps a lot! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very cool site. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For the most part, but I think a 212 intake 218 exhaust is ok with stock converter contrary to what they say.
