  9. the p0446 is a bad evap vent solenoid....seems to be a common problem, and sometimes is accompanied by a p0455 evap gross leak. as far as the maf sensor if you have cleaned it, then check the maf pid with a scan tool see what it has for voltage, but its most likely bad.. you can try resetting the keep alive memory ( disconnect ur batt for 15 mins)

  18. thanks for the reply fireman31...prob have 10 trips over 25 miles (to work and back) and various other small trips. i watched the rear monitors today and they were switching at about a 2 to 1 ratio with the fronts( 2f to 1r). ill give it another week and see what happens. if that doesnt work, my best option would to get a tune right? my only concern is if the monitor will come up complete if they are turned off
  19. Last week on the way to work the factory cats became clogged...lost all power major misfire all the good stuff... perfect time for a dynatech longtube set up. ordered the supermaxx system for summit got it here on tuesday...finished the truck wed night. the truck sounds awsome but of course this month i needed a sticker so i drive it untill today in various conditions (highway, idle, stop and go) and have put about 200 miles on the truck. all 0b2 monitors have passed except for the catalyst and evap(prob wont pass due to the cold weather). shouldnt the catalyst have passed by now? i have monitored the o2 pids front two are switching the rears are all steady. if i were to get a tune and switch off the o2 monitors will the monitor show up as complete r should i go with simulators? any and all help is greatly appreciated
  20. P0455 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Control System Leak Detected (No Purge Flow or Large Leak) Description: The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the complete evaporative emission (EVAP) control system for no purge flow, the presence of a large fuel vapor leak, or multiple small fuel vapor leaks. System failure occurs when no purge flow, which is attributed to fuel vapor blockages or restrictions, a large fuel vapor leak, or multiple fuel vapor leaks are detected by the EVAP running loss monitor test with the engine running, but not at idle. Possible Causes: After market EVAP hardware (such as the fuel filler cap) non-conforming to required specifications Disconnected or cracked fuel EVAP canister tube, EVAP canister purge outlet tube, or EVAP return tube EVAP canister purge valve stuck closed Damaged EVAP canister Damaged or missing fuel filler cap Insufficient fuel filler cap installation Loose fuel vapor hose/tube connections to the EVAP system components Blockages or restrictions in the fuel vapor hoses/tubes (items also listed under disconnections or cracks) Fuel vapor control valve tube assembly or fuel vapor vent valve assembly blocked Canister vent (CV) solenoid stuck open Mechanically inoperative fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor Diagnostic Aids: Check for audible vacuum noise or significant fuel odor in the engine compartment or near the EVAP canister and fuel tank. ...i had this not to long ago with my truck also accompanied by a canister purge solenoid circuit failure p0446. if you have driven 10 days and 500 miles and nothing was wrong but a loose gas cap then it would have gone off by now. from what i hear the canister purge valve is a common thing on our trucks. its located on the left side truck in between the bed and cab. its fairly simple to replace and only cost me 30 bucks...hope this helps
