  1. Still looking to sell my SS. The ad in the link shows $23,500 but I'm just trying to get what I owe which is about $22,250. It has over a year left on the ext warranty and is in great shape. My Craigslist ad
  2. It's a little more than Blue Book for the mileage it has but I have added a few things. It also has pre-paid XM as well as another year and a half on the GM extended warranty. My 2004 SS Autotrader ad.
  3. Ticket Assasin Between my wife and myself we have fought 4 tickets and had all 4 dissmissed. One was a 65 in a 45 and he had me on radar.
  4. It's got 67k on it... I did the SeaFoam treatment about 4 months ago. I nearly had the fire dept show up from the smoke cloud that covered the block.
  5. I did a search but found nobody who had a resolve for this same issue. Starting about a month ago, the truck started to have issues when idling but only when it's cold. As soon as it gets to operating temp, it's fine. Basically, the RPM's dip every few seconds. I have a K&N Intake so I thought it may be a MAF issue so cleaned that but it did not change a thing. Any ideas on this?
  6. I have dual Flowmaster 40's which originally was WAY loud with a some loss in low end power. I went back and had an X pipe installed which eliminated most of the drone, quieted it down quite a bit, and gave me a bit of the low-end back.
  7. Well, I have one thing to say... X-PIPE. I tossed around the idea of replacing my mufflers but I do like the Flowmaster sound. So, I did some reading and decided that throwing an X-Pipe in might just give me a little low-end back and quiet it some. And... it pretty much did. It didn't work miracles, but it did even out the power so I have a little more on the low end and a little less from 4k on. At least that's how it feels. As far as the sound, the X-Pipe completely did away with the loud rumble inside the cab and did quiet the entire system down a bit. It also stopped the popping on deceleration. Overal, I'm glad I kept the Flowmasters in!!
  8. Can someone please clarify the best way to address this issue... Is it simply a matter of too little back pressure? Is there any added tuning that can be done to get the low end torque back? What about throwing an x-pipe or h-pipe in the mix?
  9. I feel your pain man... A broken foot hurts like a son of a biatch. They had to pull my broken foot out of my motorcycle boot after it had swollen up. Peep It.
  10. Come on now... Some of you can get 600+hp out of an LQ9 but no tips on a bumper adjustment. Help a brotha out...
  11. I just thought I'd ask before I checked it out. My front bumper is tilted slightly down towards the front, how would I adjust it??? It looks like it's a solid mount with no adjustment on the bottom supports so I'm not sure how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. I had my dual 40's put in about 1 1/2 months ago and have definitely noticed a loss in low end power. It had a stock replacement DI/single 3" out Flowmaster which was fine on low end power. My only mods are a CAI and PCM4Less tune. My question is this, is there a 2.5" DI/DO muffler that will provide the appropriate back pressure? If so, what would it be. If I remove my 1 /2 month old Flowmaster 40's SI/SO mufflers, would any of you San Diego folks be interested? I also have the Flowmaster 40 DI/SO with the stock pipes and tip if anyone is interested.
  13. I just got off the phone with one of the mail order tune companies and he mentioned a few things. First off he said that the stock airbox flows 200cfm more than a non modified engine in our truck will ever draw so the CAI kits are a waste of money... Second, he was saying that any sort of cat-back exhaust setup on the SSS will also generate no performance gains... Also unless you are installing "equal-length" long tube headers, you won't see any performace gains with shortie or mid length headers. I also asked about having the torque management turned off and I was told that on the SSS it's only engaged for a split second during shifts and not on accleration from a dead stop. I also asked about running a 160 thermostat and was told that the LQ9 in the SSS performs best at 184 degrees and that stock we run at 192 so the 160 with the tune is a waste... Are these statements true???????? Info please???
  14. I see a link to the pictures and when I click on them, I get the error. I only have like 30 posts and am not a supporting member, could that be it. The wierd thing is that on some posts with linked pictures, they show up fine...
  15. Join the club. I have the same issue I will add my pics of my exhaust setup shortly...
  16. Looking to get a new amp so one of my guitars has to go. It's a Washburn EA20SDL acoustic-electric in MINT condition. I bought it about 3 years ago and have only played it on a few occasions. It has the older style Equis preamp not the B-Band, but it still sounds excellent and looks awesome. I am selling it with the faux gator skin hardshell case which is also in MINT condition. Paid Almost $700 and am hoping to get $400 plus shipping. I can email actual pics if interested... Shoot me an email @ "[email protected]"... Peep it Peep it again
  17. I think I would loose my mind if I didn't get a daily dose of heavily distorted guitar playing. I have been playing for almost 15 years now and just wish 14 of them consisted of more practicing as oposed to messing around. My daughter just turned 10 and we got her one of these for X-Mas. She LOVED it for about a week, now it just sits in the corner. I need to find some way to keep her interesetd.
  18. So I took the truck down and had a couple Flowmaster 40's installed on Saturday. I talked to the guy that did them a week ago and told him I wanted 40's but between then and Saturday I decided on the Delta 40's. Unfortunately I neglected to bring that up when I took it in so I didn't get the Delta's. These things are loud as hell so I guess I'm investing in some Dynamat soon. I saw a pic of another black SS on this site with the cladding trimmed up to bring the tips up a little so I had them do that on mine. I didn't have a chance to polish the ride up before the pics but here they are..
  19. So, I have had my '04 SS for almost a year now and have occasionaly noticed a gear oil smell from the rear drivers side. I have peaked under and looked around but never noticed anything. Anyway, I decided to replace the rear diff oil yesterday so I jacked it up and slid under. Well it was moist around the seal in the front of the diff, the rear cover gasket, and there was a small drip coming from the rotor backing plate so I assume the axle seal is leaking. I purchaced a comprehensive 3/36k warranty and was just wondering if differential seals/gaskets would be covered.
  20. So I just got a quote from a good exhaust shop here in So-Cal and wanted to see if it sounds about right. It was basically a quote to duplicate what Holty had done in this post. Holty's Exhuast Anyway, they quoted me $480 for the complete setup with pretty much the same tips. BTW Holty what brand tips are those?
  21. My thoughts exactly. Oh, and here's the scoop on getting a fake SSN. Explained
  22. Did my first AFF jump last year. There's nothing like the rush of that first jump.
