I had my SS for 5 yrs, and was forced to sell it back in '10 due to the economy.....Trust me, I cried like a little girl when that time came......I had planned on passing it down to my youngest son, and it tore me up inside when I delivered it to the new owner. Don't even consider selling it if you love it that much...You'll only regret it later on.........

Hey guys.... Haven't posted in here since last year, when I was forced to sell my SS due to economy etc.....Alot of things have turned around since then, one of which is landing a great job with the new wind turbine facility that was built here in town....Wasn't able to get back into an SS (yet), but picked up a 2000 Silverado RCSB that I've been transforming over the last few months...I'm going for a factory SportTruck type look, and will be daily driving the hell out of it.... .....So far, I've added a cowl hood....factory GM Accessory 20's...Painted Tahoe Grille...and have the parts in the garage for a drop.... Here's a current pic ....I plan on getting the drop put on next year. This will just be a daily, as most of my focus will be working on our '92 Z/28 project that we picked up as well............ Currently....

They look good, but the pattern should be reversed for the opposite side instead of having the same line pattern for both grilles...(If that makes any sense...)

Damn Bob..Not to take away from your thread, but sorry to hear about the SS getting stolen. .... I'll keep eyes/ears open and let you know if I come across anything.....

No doubt about it. There should be no questions asked, and they should do what's right and send two new ones. I wouldn't care if they said they were safe or not... To me, those are not acceptable and I would want them replaced...... ...

Love the stance and overall appearance of your truck........ ......What brand are your grilles? Are they the Precision Liquid Metal or ???

It doesn't automatically, but I can still adjust it with the controls......After seeing the costs of mirrors and just the replacement glass alone, I'm thinking of switching them out with some aftermarket mirrors ....Dealer wants $618 for the mirror...$3XX for replacement glass. I've found some replacement glass on eBay which I will probably do for now, and just save up for some aftermarket ones later.......

Maybe it's called something else.... ...When you power your mirrors in, the glass part of the mirror would return to a neutral point...then when you power your mirrors out, they would move to whatever up/down/in/out settings you had them set at...My drivers side still works, but the passenger side doesn't adjust itself...I'm pretty sure it used to, but it's been a while since I drove it so I could be wrong.....

Was backing out of the garage this morning, not paying attention, and screwed up my passenger side mirror on the SS......the housing is OK with a small scratch, but the glass is broke. I ran it through the cycles of folding in and out a few times..worked great, but the auto adjust would not work on the passenger side...can't afford a complete new mirror right now, but have found some "replacement glass" for pretty cheap....heated, turn signal...blah blah. It's out of an '03 Avalanche so it should be a direct fit, correct?...Thanks in advance......................

Was the sellers name Jessica...? Definitely a scam.....My buddy found an '03 Escalade for $4800...They came back with the SAME story about going back to Afghanistan and how they didn't want the vehicle to sit and rot. They sent a text to my buddy telling him that it was being sold thru a 3rd party....(eBay)...and that it was in a warehouse in Washington..gave him vin #, contact info for eBay escrow etc. etc....We knew it was a scam, but my buddy called eBay directly, (not the contact numbers he was given) and actually talked to a guy on the phone that was going right along with the sellers story. Sounds like it might be an "inside-job" type of thing.....They probably have somebody working for eBay that can "verify" and make things sound legit......................Bastards are getting tricky.....

.....Sell the SS so somebody else can have a chance to enjoy the truck. Reg. cab trucks are a dime a dozen now, and it would be less work/money.....

Had no problems with car seats in mine when our boy was a baby.......Was simple enough to get them in/out. Now that my little boy is 6 yrs. old, he insists that we take the SS anywhere we go..... ...

Was talking with a guy, and I could have sworn that I read somewhere, that on the original SS concept truck the front bumper vents were going to be used for a "ram-air" setup, but wasn't put into production for the simple fact of warranty issues...like for instance somebody driving through deep water sucking it into the motor etc....Did I actually read this somewhere, or am I starting to show signs of old age...?.....

AC Delco.......The factory battery lasted for over 5 yrs, so I figured I would stick with the same one.
