  1. Might try putting on some new blades..........Mine started skipping the other day, and new blades solved the issue for me.................... :chevy: .......I think it's just due to old blades getting stiff in colder weather.....newer blades are more flexible, and able to conform.......

  2. Too bad they didn't make one in black. :sigh:

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Nothing a little rattlecan job couldn't handle........................... :D ..............................Anyways................

Happy Holidays to all of my fellow SS Brothers................

  3. Hey Mike...

Another "OZ-Land" member here.........(Hutchinson)............Post up some pics of ur SSR....Those always looked like they would be a blast to drive............. ............As mentioned before, there are a few trucks for sale on here that already have some mods done, so you would probably save a little coin as well.................

  4. Most people do it purely for looks.....just depends on how you wanna use your truck............I have drop spindles...shackles/hangers on mine, running 22's, and still take occasional trips to the city dump............. :D ......It handles/drives just the same as before.....Would love to go lower, but that wouldn't fit my needs right now..........Besides, IMO...these trucks look wwaaaaayyyy better with even a slight drop.........has more of a "sport-truck" attitude................

  5. I bought the 5 piece off of eBay about 3 1/2 yrs ago, and the only problem with mine is the black has faded................I had often thought about pullin the two main grille pieces and repainting the black, but that would be a major PITA............I also thought about just colormatching the factory grille, but decided against it...........gotta have some billet/chrome to break up the front-end......

  6. wow that would be bamf to have 2 sss

.............. ........... One for show...the other for go.......... :D .............We have a guy here in town that bought 2 identical Z/28's back in 1978.......He's an old-school rodder, and both cars are running ol' school cragars etc......both cars are built up, but one has a nice tunnel ram poking up out of the hood..........Naturally, he drives that one, and his wife drives the other to local shows, etc...............

  7. I'm into collecting unbuilt 1/25 plastic model kits from the 70-80's......I'm also into building them in my spare time, and if anybody else is into it, they know that the aftermarket for model cars is just like the 1:1's.........detail parts made out of actual aluminum... resin kits, etc. etc.......I started on a '72 Pro-Street Nova a while back, and spent about $40 on aftermarket aluminum/photoetch pieces just for the motor...even found some AN fittings for the lines etc.........It's CRAZY and adddicting!

I'm also into die-cast cars, which I'm currently collecting the "Pro-Street" series from Danbury Mint.....at $120 a pop, it adds up quick......

But, I also make some good money selling on eBay as well.....I sold 5 older MPC kits a while back, and cleared over $400......so it evens out....or so I would like to think.......

  8. IIRC correctly the handle mechanism freezes. you can the handle bezel off and use some rust penetrating lube to free it up, also shoot some on side latches.

..... .............mine did the same thing a few years ago......It would open just fine, but it got to the point of having to almost "slam" it to shut....opened it up and found that the mechanism inside had some rust build- up preventing the latch rods from releasing............I took mine all apart, wire-wheeled the rust off, and put some lithium grease on it............has been working flawless ever since.
