  1. Yes sir! My 05' has the LQ9 6.0L as you do. It was specifically for our engines. Like said before, it also has the ability to support a blower if you decide to upgrade. The 115 lsa will make it a great everyday driver without the issues of idling problems. If you stayed NA, then a 2800-3200 stall would really make your SS fly with that cam. That too would still allow a dependable daily driver or a weekend terror. I assume if your not a wrencher then you would be paying someone to install this. I highly recommend it if that is your case. You will of course need a custom tuner to tune for this cam to get the best results and dependability. Let me know what you think. Jim
  2. With a good tune and that cam, you should see 70-90 more hp. The 115lsa will give it a great idle and it's also great for a Radix or FI upgrade later. You could always call one of the sponsored tuners here and ask them what they think as well. Let me know something. Jim
  3. Here's a link to the description and price: http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=385876 Thanks, Jim
  4. Selling for $60.00 locally or $65.00 shipped anywhere in US! Jim
  5. Price drop! Will sell the pair for $65.00 Shipped (US)! Jim
  6. Selling my front Belltech Nitro-Active shocks. They fit AWD & 2wd SS Silverados, VHO or V-Max trucks, and most torsion bar type front suspension trucks/ SUV's. They have about 3,000mi on them and still look brand new. I have the boxes as well. Selling them for $60.00 locally or add $5.00 to ship anywhere in US. Thanks, Jim
  7. Looking for a low mileage (under 30K), AWD 03'-05' SS Silverado. Black is what I'd prefer. Want the Steering wheel controls and XM options at minimum. Would want one with minor to no mods. Would like to buy one locally in Texas, but will be willing to drive out of state to get it. Want a clean body/ interior, clear titled, never wrecked SS. Thanks, Jim
  8. Ok....then what all will I need to bolt it in?? Jim
  9. Driveshaft was just rebuilt (All new u-joints, new carrier bearing, heat straightened, and balanced). It did not help any. You can even hear the vibration. It's that bad. It will vibrate from 40mph on up to 75mph. The guy working on it is pretty stumped at this time. He too wants to try a 1-piece DS to see if it helps. If it doesn't, then the problem will lie in the rear end. I can't believe I've already wasted over $900.00 in trial and error with all of this. A 1-piece DS will only add to it all. I'm thinking about going back to stock hangers, shackles, and spindles at this point. I'm too frustrated with all of this now....... Jim
  10. I think this would actually work. What I don't understand is, why didn't GM just use the 1-piece in the ext cab trucks as well if the CC trucks have the same wheel base? These vibrations are just unreal!!! I cannot believe there is no way to adjust the truck's 2-piece DS to get no vibrations.............. Everything has been tried. Nothing worked. How is that possible???????? If the angles are all within specs, then what is creating this vibration??????? It's definately the DS because the more you alter the location of the carrier bearing, the pitch sound and feel of the vibration changes as well. The guy is almost concerned that there is something wrong with the rear end. I don't see how that could be. Then again, anything is possible at this point!! Jim
  11. I was curious if I could use a 1-piece aluminum DS out of a 1500 2WD Crew cab to go in my 2WD Extended cab truck? Reason I ask is because the CC trucks have a short bed and the ext cab trucks have a regular bed. If the wheel bases are the same, then I don't see why it wouldn't work. Anyone have the answers to this? Jim
  12. Sorry I disagree with the lowering the tank being easier than cutting the bolt. I used a cutoff wheel that took all of 15secs to trim off the excess bolt stem. A little pressure with a pry bar against the tank and out it came. Hell, I even put the bolt back in the same way. now that I have aftermarket hangers, this is no longer possible....... Jim
  13. That my friend is called wheel hop. Usually due to to much positive of a pinion angle. If you never hit anything, then you don't have a bent axle. The more neg pinion you have (keeping within the correct pinion angle) the more bite you will have without the effects of wheel hop. Can you explain a bit more on exactly what you are feeling? Is it more of a shudder under acceleration, or is it more like the tire grabbing and letting go causing shake? Try placing a 1* shim in that places the pinion angle down a bit more. That will tell you if that is your problem or not. Hope you get it figured out soon. I placed my truck into another shop. I'm hoping they will figure out what the problem is with mine. I can't get it over 40 mph without it feeling like it's about to fall apart and shake you to death. I don't know what's going on now. Jim
  14. You need to go with a 3* shim. That is if you were placing the shim in with the fat side to the front. Then again....with all the problems I've been having with vibrations......what do I know. Jim
  15. I don't see how the leafs will eliminate possible vibration issues just because you have the stock hangers and shackles. The vibrations come from the change in angle of the final driveshaft section and pinion angle. The pinion angle may stay the same, but the angle on the final driveshaft section definately goes upward. This is why the carrier bearing relocator has to be used. The leaf packs may work great for the 1-piece DS guys, but the 2-piece DS guys will more than likely suffer. I cant stand these vibration problems I have anymore. I'm taking my 2-piece DS to Randy's Driveshafts to be balanced, high heat straightened, yokes replaced with stronger ones, and u-joints replaced with stronger ones. Costing me $380.00!! Not what I was looking forward to at all. Hopefully this will help. I'm bringing the truck to one other highly recommended local shop in Houston, hopefully they will get my angle corrected and ridding me of vibrations...... I'm crossing my fingers. 4 months working on suspension is no longer a challenge to me, it's now a disaster! Good luck to any of you 2-piece DS guys that lower their VHO or 2wd SS! Jim
  16. Was just wondering if all the VHO trucks had 2-piece driveshafts? What about the 2WD SS trucks? These two trucks are pretty much identical. What year model VHO or 2WD SS and What drive shaft do you have? I have to get some more options before I removing my lowering kit. Jim
  17. Now wait a minute now. How low is your truck? It doesn't look much lower than mine. How was the rear lowered exactly??? I can kind of see why the carrier didn't have to be moved. It brought it up all the way the other direction if you flipped the axle on top of the leafs. I think there is a specific point to where the 2-piece DS and carrier location will not handle that specific location with just a hanger/ shackle drop. BTW, your truck looks very nice. Jim
  18. Looks like the VHO trucks have too many issues when you lower them. I think I will be taking my drop off. I will not drive it with vibrations.......harsh or slight. There must be something wrong with the driveline geometry with these trucks. Everyone with a drop on these trucks has problems. The truck drove great before the drop. Now it's chaos left and right. I am beginning to hate my truck now. I have tomarrow evenning and Saturday to try a few more things. There is one other shop in Houston that wants to give a shot at it before I throw the towel in on it and put it back to stock. This sucks, I really liked the way it looked. Jim
  19. Yours is pretty easy compared to trucks with a 2-piece driveshaft. First items to check: -Did you trim all of your bump stops? Your truck cannot rest on these as you will get a rough ride and possibly vibrations from this. -Next, you need to correct your pinion angle at the axle. You should start with a 1-2* shim. Preferrebly the 1* first. Place it both ways to see which way is helping the problem. If you find that placing the fat side of the shim facing back or to the front helped take away the issue, but did not totally correct the issue, you should then move into the 2* shim facing the same way. That should fix all of your vibration issues if you follow these steps. I haven't yet found a way to fix my vibration problems yet with my 2/3 drop on my VHO......... I have a 2-piece driveshaft that is a pain in the ass! Jim
