  1. It's been a bit since you posted, do you still have it? I might be interested as well...... Also would like to see some pics and get further details.
  2. Yeah, there was quite a bit of damage to the whole truck.......front to rear on the passenger side. I posted pics of my poor baby some where on here. I just can't remember wher and can't seem to find them at the moment. It was a pretty sad sight and yes, I cried!
  3. Hey Mr. P, That would be greatly appreciated if you did get a chance to take a look at the two side by side. I don’t have the 06 yet nor do I have the facilities to compare the two if I did. It would be nice to find out for sure if this will work. I don’t want to spend that kind of money on a new truck if I can’t get what I want. Let me know what you find out! Also, thanks to all of you who have added their input on this!
  4. Yeah, that would be nice if the frame from my truck wasn't trashed. Matter of fact, that was the key factor in it being totaled. Actually, If it weren't for the frame damage, I'de be driving it!
  5. I have all the steering gear as well so that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for all the info! I guess all I have to do now is figure how much time is going to be involved in removing and then reinstalling the stuff. I guess I could get it all together and drop it all off with a mechanic friend for the install. Hmmmm, wonder how much it would cost? Guess I should call him! Goldie... I am in California, the Tri Valley area east of SF. But I don't think it would pan out for us as I have all the stuff from my 04 that I wrecked. Sorry. So anything else to consider? What about the frame and mounting.....do you think the holes are there for mounting brackets etc or am I gonna have to get someone to do some welding?
  6. I have the complete lower front end and the front drive assembly available (It's still all there right Brian?) And I was planning on lowering the front end with new spindles anyway. I will need to get a new 4.10 rear as the old one was sold, but I have both drive shafts. Any thing else I need to think about? How about the computer....are there any controls or sensors I will need? I have the old computer module from the 04 but think there are probably conflicts between years. While I am thinking about it...any one need an 04 tranny or LQ9 engine with 30k on it? Shipping might be a bitch but they are available!
  7. Does anyone have any idea if the AWD system from an 04 SS can be installed in an 06 SS? Besides the obvious (warranty) would there be any conflicts or problems with it? I have been looking since last September for a replacement for my 04 and have seen a lot of them. None to which compared to mine (before the wreck of course!). I have come to the conclusion that those who know what they have keep them, those that don't trash them. So, I have been thinking about a new one. I found a few 06's that are pretty clean. But as we all know Chevy discontinued making the AWD SS in mid 05. Sucks for me as I want the AWD. So I put forth the question to all the mechanics here, Can it be done and be done correctly with out major modifications? Thanks.....
  8. With what Az said.... I have been dealing with GM and Chevrolet corporate and both tell me that there are no plans for production of the SS Silverado in the next few years. That takes us into 2009 at least. Of course, thngs happen and plans change. But for what it's worth, that's the scoop I got.
  9. No, it's way east of Charlotte. East of Raleigh and west of Greenville. Thanks anyway
  10. As most of you know I am looking for a truck to replace my 04 SS which was totaled in September. I think I may have found one....unfortunately it's in North Carolina. That's on the other side of the US for me and makes it a little difficult to stop by for a test drive. What I am needing is some one in the local area of Wilson NC that would be willing to go look the truck over and scrutinize it for me. I would even be willing to compensate for time and a detailed report. If anyone is willing and interested, please get back to me ASAP and we can talk about specifics. Thanks!
  11. Well, no one seemed to respond to this so I am keeping it for a bit. I called Whipple and they say it will work on some different engines and I can call to verify when I decide what I want. They said they would help me out with the parts I need to convert as well. That's pretty cool customer support if you ask me! So with that said............I'll hold on to it for a bit longer. We'll see what transpires.
  12. I hate to do it, but it has to be done. I am selling my Whipple super charger. The unit was purchased and installed on the 18th of June 06. I ordered it for the 2004 (LQ9) 6.0 H/O engine. As for milage, I would estimate no more than 300 or 400 miles for the two months it was on the truck. It is the black unit with a 4.25 pully that puts out 4 to 6 psi. The only parts I don't have are the outlet tube for the water pump and one of the relays for the Whipple electronics. If you run a custom tune you don't need the electronics. I also don't have the air box and filter that came with it but they are available and if you want it we can talk. The kit cost $4999.00 new. I think the charger alone is worth around $3500.00. Delphi 42# direct replacement injectors are also for sale. They only have about an hour or two on them. They were $380.00 for the set...any offers? I would prefer to sell the S/C localy to minimize packing and shipping, but that's always negotiable.
