  1. Picked up The bars last week and did the install on both trucks. WOW what a difference!! Here are a few pictures of the bars on the truck. Plus I cut the stock front bar in half to show the hollow bar. When we cut it all this rusty water came running out and the inside had already started to rust out. In addition it was a straight bolt on system. No drilling or moving/messing of the gas tank. I love the adjustability of the rear bar. Jimmy
  2. E-Mail receieved from Wilwood: Jimmy, although most of our calipers do not have dust seals, or boots, we do have our dynapro caliper that does. Depending on the environment in which they are used, seals will need to be replaced. In a high heat atmosphere, such as circle track racing, seals are changed twice a year. Tom: Is that caliper in the photos above a Dynapro caliper?? Jimmy
  3. I thought the stock front bars were hollow?? We will soon find out. I will cut the front bars in half, find out then post the pictures. Jimmy
  4. tbyrne: Thanks for the pictures and I am glad you chimed in here. I have a few questions. Are the Wilwood brakes a "plug & play" system? I mean do the Wilwood calipers have caliper piston dustshields and seals? Do the caliper pistons need to be cleaned every 3-6000 miles. If they don't, would they not need to be cleaned after being exposed to salt in the winter or mud in the summer? Are there any other maintenance requirements this kit needs? What size rotors are available for both the 2500hd's and the Silverado SS? Are there rear kits available? How much are the kits? Thanks, Jimmy
  5. I could not resist posting these pictures. I got these off of the MovIt website. The website is difficult to navigate but found on their website that MovIt is now supplying Unique Whips for this seasons TV show. Jimmy These are the 15.5 ich rotors with the 6piston billet calipers. These are the Monster 18.11inch rotors with the 6 piston billet calipers This is the Hummer done,
  6. I have no idea how hollow bars could be stronger than something solid. r8rs4lf: Thanks for the feedback about the bars, I wanted that adjustability. I read about the drilling and stuff on the Hotchkis stuff. Don’t want to drill the truck. And again can’t see how hollow bars could be stronger than something solid. While roaming the internet and reading other forums saw people writing about the Hotchkis bars breaking at the rear. Wasn’t on the Silverado SS but other vehicles. I called Speed Inn today who I guess now owns or distributes the Frederico Bars. r8rs4lf who did you talk to when you got bad customer service?? The new guy/owner Les was great. Said he had e-mailed the admins here and wanted to do a GP. Sold me a set of bars for both my Silverado SS and my 2500HD Duramax. Sold me the Silverado SS set for $389 out the door. Even gave me free shipping and said it was the GP price he was going to offer. Within an hour and a half I received 4 tracking numbers. So I assume the bars are on the way! Just wanted to pass along my experience, Thanks again for the heads up on the bars guys.
  7. Maybe for an HD which is just over kill but they do not have anything larger than a 12.6" rotor for a 1/2 ton as far as I could see 322 x 32 which are only 4 piston calipers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was up late and its only a phone call, so I called MovIt in Germany last night. They offer 4 or 6 piston brake kits for the SS, Avalanche, Escalade, 1500 both 2 and 4 wheels drives in sizes 322mm to 460mm. Thats 18.11 inches of rotor! can you imagine the size of that rotor?? They have front and rear kits. They stated the application guide is rather inaccurate and are redoing the website. They also said to call the MovItBrakesUSA.com shop to order anything. Jimmy
  8. Has anyone bought a set of the Frederico Performance sway bars on thier SS? Would like to know the difference between thiers and the Hotchkis bars?? Jimmy
  9. I think I read somewhere about MovIt Brakes. They have Big Brakes up to 18 inches. Either 4 or 6 piston billet caliper setups. The US supplier was movitbrakes usa. There is a local guy here that has a set on his 2500 HD. Jimmy
