Right on, in knew these newer engines run hotter to burn cleaner but 215 is pretty high...I would like for it to run a little cooler with a lower set thermo but how does that affect the ecu cycles? I smell a skunk

What up fellas.....anybody see this? Sometimes at idle my engine temp gets up around....well above the 200 mark....I'd say 215ish. But as abruptly as it raises it does comes down. Fan kicks and thermostat opens but at 215??????? Thats scary high!!! I had a 99 suburban with a big block and it only went that high in 112 deg. weather in the desert.It's 70 deg. here in Cali. Heats up....cools down..... What deg. is the stock thermostat set to open at?

Yeah no race!! I dont want to give the wrong impression to you guys and i do believe to each there own! Im not knocking anybody's opinion on whats cool and whats not..If you like it thats great....If you dont thats great too! I just thought a truck like that sends a statement..Its supposed to be a perfomance truck built for acceleration, but when i approached he looked at me like i was crazy! Oh and the wing he had on that truck was like huge...it was probably a foot maybe a foot and half in height..not the usual wing ive seen on those trucks..it did look funny to me!!! Anyways my point is a truck like that is going to attract attention and you probably knew that when you bought it!

The key for any hemi ram is having a superchips. It'll easily drop your 1/4 mil et at least five tenths. From what I've seen the reason he pulled you in third is because he was still in second gear. The SS's are geared a good bit lower than the rams. For instance I don't shift out of second gear until 89-90 mph. The SS has the advantage on the low end while the ram is a little faster up top. While we're on the subject, I met up with a guy at teh track that had a 2005 hemi ram. The only mods he had was superchips and a CAI and a different muffler. That day he ran a best of 14.08, that same day I ran a 13.8 with the only difference in mods being that I have headers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 13.8 in an suv impressive...thats the ultimate grocery getter!!!!! Nothin like a little stop light fun to get u going! yesterday i was driving home with the family and i seen a dodge hemisport, it was orange and had four doors with a standard bed and a huge Wing on it.... LOL! I love that, a truck with a wing........goood stuff! Anyway my wife and kids are cool they dont ming alittle straight 1st to 2nd gear run! i got along side him before we stop at the light and he wouldnt look at us, but his window was down! So i puched it downshifted and let him hear it. He laughed......I laughed....I was about to kill a Hemisport and his wife was my witness. A wing.... Anyway he rolled down his window and asked "if i just got my license?" :crackup:I laughed uncontrollably told him "Wait......Wait......still laughin, I'm not sure what is funnier........your joke.....our the wing on the back of your truck!!!!!!" He didnt laugh.........but his wife did!!! He was a jerk i had to. the way i look at is why buy that truck and not play! I mean that truck says LOOK AT ME I HAVE A WING.......IM FAST!

It all started a year ago when my friend bnought his diesel. We went to our local 1/8 track and smoked my other friends 94 intrega over and over again! I was a embarrassing sitefor the integra!!! Anyway, since then he has purchased an EDGE Programmer witch added a significant amount of Horses and gobs of torque....Then many moons later, I bought my diamond in the ruff! So i went to his pad to show him and he wasnt impressed No biggie to each there own i thought until he said "I'll smoke your...what is that a ZZZZMax? LOL" .......Today it went down!!!!!!!!!! 3 lights we went at it. 1st light i tried to power brake and smoked through first he was leading by his truck 1 out (four door long bed) and i tought it was over til i started to pull then we had to slow for the next red. I knew i had a chance because i was pulling in 2nd. 2nd light was much of the same no traction. 3rd light we went a full 1/4 and i did smoke tire while he launched out on me1 fulltruck . Then 2nd gear and i started to pull mid truck then 3rd brought me out and ahead...i pulled 1 1/2 trucks out before we slowed. Needlesss to say i handed his AZZ to him.........NICE! I do realize im much lighter but i think his HP and TQ even it out. Matter of fact ive heard diesel guys refer to them as frieght trains! Who frieght trained who?!!!!!!! Anyways I love the guy and his truck is pretty scary fast for how heavy it is! It trully is more truck then mine,towing and power wise....and he did give me props!!!! At least now V-Max is no longer the Z-Max to him he realized Its no joke! Later he told me he hooked bacause he had it in 4hi, I think we will do it again sometime in the future. Yes my truck has the Vortec Max package. 6.0l. 4:10 gears, its a LT 4x4 fully loaded. Has the Moon roof, Bose,Ride control, Onstar,Xm(electric folding mirrors ) LOL.........yeah everything minus dvd/nav. Oh...and also the rear under seat storage box. !!!!!!!

15ish huh. Not bad for a pickup ! Last night I had a Dodge Charger SE come up from behind with momentum and i got on it a little late and i couldnt catch him! At the light I seduced him with some props and asked if he would do it again! I smoked his AZZ.....lol My first killl! I launched on him and 2 or 3 up never caught me. I'm thinking it was a 250hp V6 beacause he only had 1 tailpipe. Although he did have a badge on the front fender but i couldnt read it. Do they have a none Hemi v8 single pipe for entry level Chargers? I know it was'nt the R/T! Anyway thanks for your feed back fella's!

Hello Chevy owners, I've had my truck for 16 days now and im really suprised with its performance. Its my first new truck and I dig it. I'm a little reluctant to get on it! Those low second to first gear downshift really scream. Anyway i was just wondering if anybody with a similar truck ran it down the track before moding it. I've done some surfing but came up empty handed! Thanks for your time!
